Singapore Airlines A310: Singapore to Saigon

Ahh, my favorite aircraft and airline. I also flew Singapore Airlines a310-300 from SIN to SGN in October 1997, I might have been on your flight that day!

@iluvny21 SIA is the worlds richest airline after Emirates..they have excellent management..consider that the airplanes that SIA had in 1997 are for the most part replaced with newer models while THAI for example have the same aircraft, the 744 since 1990.

SIA just got a330s which are oging to be thrown out starting in 2011 replaced by 787s

@TheDokaDoka Isn t that a little to short a time? 330 is a modern aircraft, SIA is phasing out their 747-400, they are about 15years old but to get rid of a 2year old aircraft is a little to early...but mayby there is economics involved?

@TheDokaDoka aha now I understand. Thank you for informing me..I like the 330S tits a nice place. Its comfortable travelling in Asia as the asian airlines mostly use widebody..in europe its the cramped and boring DC9 and A320/B737 and very spartan meals.

@TheDokaDoka I have flown several times, Bangkok-Saigon-Bangkok on Thai AB300-600 and Vietnam airlines A320(once)..didn t like Saigon..filthy city,rude vietnamese..

@am1966ath BKK is also filthy. My impression is that the Vietnamese people are very warm, friendly and intelligent.

@alexbru Bkk is less filthy than Saigon at least the city center..of course there are slums in Bangkok as there are in most asian cities. You can be intelligent and unfriendly, the vietnamese are no way as friendly as the Hongkong or Singapore chinese or the thais.
