  • you can tell a dude doesnt want anymore when he puts his head down... then you jack him with an uppercut

  • Joe coaches at my local rink and is one of the nicest guys you could meet. When I see these videos I am like wholly crap, that's our local coach!! Great Guy!! Go Joe!

  • You'd never know watching this video that Kocur spent six years as a Ranger... where he had some of his best years. Best fighter in NHL history.

  • Kocur and Probert on the same team. Now thats scary.

  • I would actually run away if he would challenge me, and I wouldn't mind be calling a pussy because of it.

  • Terrible music as is always expected in these videos but great fights. :-)

  • @Nigelxman Hockey is rock, not hip hop or Justin Bieber!

  • i wish kocur was around so he can kill matt cooke and sean avery

  • DAVIEEEEEE,fl 954

  • Kocur the best ever, filthy right hand .

  • one heavy handed mofo......love it

  • THATS MY MAN!

  • God bless you Joey!

  • Kocur > Chuck Norris

  • @G0odf3lla It would be close but i dont think chuck could skate he would just wear boots so i call it a draw i mean come on chuck norris would give me 2 thumbs up at once for this one

  • @buttxdart No, Chuck Norris would give you two fists up.

  • remember years ago, was at a leafs wings game, kocur and clark would never go. heard they were related or something like that, but it was a first. never seen that before.

  • @babystinky Wendel Clark, Joe Kocur and Barry Melrose are cousins....

  • he should go boxing

  • I believe it was Jacque Demers that said something to the effect of, "If I wanted to send the other team a message I'd send out Probert, but if I wanted to kill someone I'd send out Kocur." -- Ah, the good old days...thank god for youtube

  • Probie may have been the better "fighter" but Joey's got the hardest punch the NHL has ever seen!

  • my dad got checked by kocur yesterday. and somebody took the PERFECT picture of him in midair. i got his autograph after the game.

  • Kocur and Probert = Bruise Brothers.

  • he is my uncle and i am proud to be his nephew

  • holding shirts like sissies

  • poor refs hahaha

  • it sucks what happened to Probert, R.I.P. him and Kocur wrecked shit

  • I wish they made fighters like this in the modern NHL! I remember it like yesterday....my pops and I would be watching a Ranger game, I be gettin a drink....he'd yell fight and I'd make it back in time to see Kocur level some poor bastard. My only wish is that the linesmen let him and Probert go at it after Joey took off his gear. Would have been classic.

  • Very good taste in making this video. A great and fast Motorhead song whose title matches the subject....Joe Kocur. I'm so used to seeing cheesy songs being the soundtrack for a sports video, homemade or not. I just saw a cool old-time Babe Ruth video with a symphonic version of "We Are The Champions" - fucking stupid.

  • He was my best friend's uncle. My friends name is Brett Kocur. He was beast.

  • Probert, Kocur, Brown. 3 total fucking psychos. Grimson was as well. He was just not as good or crazy as those three.

  • Joey was a class-A badass and wasn't afraid of anybody. I miss him.

  • Ken Baumgartner OWNED Kocur

  • Wasn't that Baumgartner that Kocur was T-baggin' after Joey K O'd him towards the middle there.

  • @Torch425 You must have a different idea of what T-bagging is, Baumgartner wasn't even under him. Actually, hardly anyone was under him because most of the nasty fist throwing happens before you hit the ground.

Kocur was tough for this era, but Clarke Gillies would of beat the shit out of him had he played in the real tough era of the 1970's. Kocur would have been average.

  • @mrceebees14 First off Clark is spelled w/o the E so right off the bat I know you have no clue about what your talking about. Hockey 101; Gillies and Kocur played 3 season against one another mind you Gillies was 33 years old when he retired from Hockey after 87-88. So the old man past his prime line wont work here.

So to say he would have beaten the shit out of Kocur and that Kocur would have been average is ridiculous.

  • @bayardguy Spelling means jack on youtube, that is gay.

They did and Gillies was at the end of his career, read my original post again. He retired after '86 with the Sabres.

Um yeah it does when you are a professional athlete compared to a 22 year old kid. You don't obviously know the wear and tear the NHL puts on an athlete in this sport.

I said he could have taken Kocur, you obviously don't remember Gillies. That is a shame.

  • @mrceebees14 hahah he said he could of does not mean he could have.

  • Ever see Kocurs cement block hands up close? They are fuuukkkkk'd up. All those years of bangin took its toll. Dude was/is a warrior!

  • Man, you could use a Motorhead song for any hockey fight compilation video!

  • Funny thing is he's a real nice guy. lol

  • :10 flawless victory

  • Tony Twist had a very powerfull punch as well

  • Greatest ever.

  • dude threw sledge-hammers

  • Kocur, like Probert became even more deadly if you a couple in on them. It sorta became p-e-r-s-o-n-a-l ...... wackos, and the best there was :)

  • very appropriate song for this

  • my friend dated his daughter, lol. she goes to my school

  • This is my best friends uncle. My friends name is Brett Kocur.

  • @tjbmusicvideos and?

  • Kocur was deadly!

  • @glenfenderman And Probert it dead.

  • Kocur was an absolute beast. I was always terrified for anyone who fought him. Notice how quickly the zebras would get in there once his opponent was down. They knew if he hit someone when they were down he could possibly kill them.

  • @nycboyforlife lol 2 thumbs up

  • This fellow is the best hockey fist fighter ever. His "jack hammer right" consistantly destroyed the opposition. He wasn't a bad player either.

  • kocur and probert the best 1-2 ever

  • Amen to that brother!!I had season tix when they played-no one could fuck with them.Bruise Brothers Rule!!

  • joe kocur is my uncles sisters husbund haha =)

  • Comment removed

  • wouldn't your uncles sister be your aunt ?? so then wouldn't kocur then be basically your uncle....sounds made up to me.....

  • Uh... no. If his uncle is the man that married his aunt, then his uncle's sister would technically be his aunt-in-law (if there were a such thing), but more likely considered a very distant relative.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah i know u were joking but ur uncles sisters husband would just be ur uncle lol...im high

  • K O SIR!!!

  • BITCHIN'! I love this song, and Kocur is one of my favorite brawlers. Awesome!

  • Probie and Kocur, the best one-two combo in NHL history.

  • Kocur had a sledghammer for a right hand. He was scary. He could have boxed professionally if he wanted to. His knockout of Jim Kyte is classic. He was a stone cold bad ass when he dropped the gloves.

  • No way! Most hockey players would not be good boxers. It takes a lot more than throwing haymakers to be a good boxer. Besides, how hard is it to break an eye socket or cheekbone? Not hard at all.

You get more cuts in hockey because they are not wearing gloves which makes people think hockey fighters throw harder punches which is not true.

  • yep probert and kocur on the same line is ridiculous especially in detroit of all places

  • perfect song for this video

  • ray fought great after the tie down rule.....Rob Ray was the only dude to fight kocur 3x and not get knocked out....sure he lost the fights, but never KO'd

  • lol thats not saying much besides he turtled to save a ko

  • he was one bad dude, crazy to think that he and probert were on the same team at one point, i respect the speed and skill that teams are going for today, but i miss the days of the enforcer

  • That's a nasty right hand.

  • The first wings jersey I ever got was Joey Kocur. I had to get it created because nobody sold one. Even in every hockey video game I every played, I would always create kocur on the team.

  • kocur is my uncle man is a fuckin tank

  • joey kocher comes in my dad's shop all the time and he said that his hands r like sausages, the beastliest guy any1 will ever c, lol. im not trying 2 make fun of him but he is a big dude in person. im am not BSing any1

  • pound for pound there was no one tougher

  • 1:13 check the ref :D

  • You can tell most of these other guys are just thinking "Oh fuck, I'm being attacked by Joe Kocur..."

  • 24,25,26

all the best fighters on the wings

    probert,darren maccarty, and joe kocur

  • It wasn't 2002

It was either 97 or 98

but yeah they pulled him out of the beer leagues

  • it was the 97 cup run. he had a great goal against philly in game 1 or 2.

  • its amazing that no one else in the nhl at the time seemed to understand that body blows will destroy your opponent over time except kocur.

  • If there was one better, I'd like to know who.

  • ray was only good when his jersey was off.

watch kocur vs ray youll see that kocur always won.

  • Not on his best day.

They went a few times and Kocur got the best of him.

Saw Kocur lose twice-Raglan and Richter, that was it.

  • yeah, i love kocur, but raglan got him. but...if you fight 50-100-200-300 times, you are going to lose a few....and thats if you are great.

    kocur rules.

  • Not the best fighter ever in NHL but THE BEST KO artist!

  • "The Jackhammer"

  • probert couldn't be hurt and got stronger as fights went on, guys would get tired and then it was lights out. Kocur was different, he just punched harder than anyone else out there. he got beat sometimes too, but if he caught you, damn....

  • kocur had the least losses for all the fights he was in he rarely lossed if anything it was a draw he wouldnt go down and kocur was a really good fighter he trained in boxing alot and he hit like a motherfucker

  • I remember the day Kocur was traded to the Rangers by the Wings for Kip Miller. Me and a bunch of Flyer fans were in Ft Lauderdale for spring break. As a Flyer fan, we knew Kocur was on the trading block. When we heard Kocur went to the hated Rangers, we were like "ugghh fuck" Not the fucking Rangers!!! Shit, anywhere else but the rangers! It was worse than when the Rangers picked up Chris Nilan. Another fuckin pain in the ass that Flyers fans wished for.

  • The day the Rangers got Kocur was the day the Rangers stopped getting pushed around. Kris King and Mark Jansens weren't cutting it as enforcers. Then Domi came along. But Joey was the baddest of them all. Brought excitement to the Garden for sure.

  • As a Flyer fan, I have seen many great hockey fighters. But, Kocur was the best hockey fighter of all time. He was not a "show boater" He would just destroy, set the victim down after he won, and humbly skate off the ice with the smirk on his face. This guy was scary with that jackhammer right.

  • and now the wings best fighter is hosa.

  • Dont forget Aaron Downey, hes the best.

  • Downey couldn't hold a candle to kocur or probert. the wings pulled kocur out of a 40+ beer league as an enforcer for the playoffs when they won the cup in 02 (i think), and i remember kocur scored a goal in the playoffs to boot.

    Give blood fight PRO-B

  • the only thing chuck norris is afraid of....joe kocurs right hand

  • im sorry but chuck norris is scared of nothin lol

  • yea he is, kocur's iron right.

great song for the video. fits right in since kocur's hand was a fucking freight train.

    iron fist motorhead.

  • i miss the days when hockey was full of no bullshit knock u the fuck out fighters. Hockey isnt the same anymore

  • a little fact du jour kocur and wendal clark are second cousins.

  • Really? Wendal is my fav.

  • and also toronto's all time favourite son.leafs need another clark reincarnation..

  • When joey was with the rangers he was signing autographs at the mall. Name only, no handshakes, one per person.

I was in the army and my dad told him where i was and mentioned he was my favorite player.

hanging on my wall " To Mike, Good luck in the army, your pal. Joe Kocur"

Thats what a class act he is. I where my number 26 ranger jersey with pride.

  • pound for pound, Kocur was probebly the best hockey fighter ever. if you didn't secure his right hand, you could die. simple as that.

  • Wasn't it a blow from Joey Kocur's right fist that caused The Big Bang that created The Universe??? Seriously, that dude had a fist made from solid lead!

  • @sanchan1959 not really. lead wouldnt require multiple surgeries

  • joey kocur is a beast, he could fucking drop you so quick with that right, kocur and probert were the best, bruiser brothers!!! btw get that book its fucking great.

  • Kocur is hands down the best fighter in nhl history. Bruise Brothers is an AWESOME read. must have for any fan

  • yea man he was a fucking animal i dont know if he is THE best id have to say probert was. but kocur is definitely right there and definitely in the number 2 spot still love him and probie and fuck yea man that book is a must read.

  • dude, joe kocur will seriously mess people up.

his (right) hand is crazy messed up now, but again, back in the day, he was one of those guys that would hit you with a fist that felt like lead and fireworks. one punch from joey = nighty night.

  • Pound for pound he was one of the strongest fighters in the NHL. In an interview with Donald Brashear, Brashear described how Kocur had cracked his helmet with his punches, and though his helmet had absorbed most of the blow, he still felt serious pain in his gums, even on the other side of his face, leaving him unable to eat for a day or so.

  • You'd suck their dicks so shut the fuck up house bitch.

  • Dont get either one of your cousins mad at you. Send a Fans regards to Joey Kocur. WE LOVED HIM here in New York City!!! He was the Best!!!!

  • Did Kocur and Domi ever fight? I imagine if they did, Kocur would have won, but I never saw them scrap.

  • no.came close once in joey's second tour in detroit when dummy was in toronto.face-to-face,but nope.fact when kocur was with ny and so was domi, he gave domi tips before domi-probert I in 1992.

  • kocur and clark werent cousins, read "The Bruise Brothers"

  • great vid! iron fist was an awesome choice for that haymaker throwing mofo! Him and probert trained with martial art coaches

  • Every time Joey lands the right, somebody goes down. Kelvington Sask., I am curious to who coaches the boxing club there... Wendyl Clark could toss 'em too, and he was just 190 soaking wet

  • yeah exactly look at him now ...he is extremly succusful with the organazation that sets the standard as to how a team is managed. kocur is amazing

    kocur versus howe

i have to go with howe casue he was so much meaner and quite a bit taller and had longer reach but man could joey throw em.

  • Kocur let's them know what's going on out there on the ice ya'reckon?

  • but look at him now

  • my dad played joe in like peewee and my dad said you coulndt tell he was a hitter

  • i love u daddy! show em whos boss! ~ kendaal kocur~

  • wat ever lol... what ever u make up is fine with me

  • i have, you ever heard of derek boogard?

  • im goin out with his daughter kendal shes rly hott

  • Orly? So Derek who is 26 has a daughter old enough to be dating? I guess Derek had an interesting childhood.

  • Gino Odjick was a daddy at age 15

  • wow, I don't think I've ever seen a hockey player throw those kind of bombs.

  • A CLASSIC.

  • put the fear of god into anyone stupid enough to fight him..........

  • Kocur and Brownie were good buds. They NEVER fought in the NHL. That is fact.

  • oh yeah i was thinking of a dif coach my mistake

  • Excuse me, I mean 4 cup rings. He got one in New York in '94 also.

  • i dont cus they sucked when he was coaching but that dusnt mean he's not awsome

  • They sucked when he was coaching??? Buddy, they won the Stanley Cup in 2002 with Joe Kocur as the video coach. That's why he has 3 cup rings - he got the two in '97 '98 and one in '02 as a coach.

  • Koco lives fairly close to my wife's family in Brighton.. not far from Woodland lake.

  • Oh really? I knew he lived around here somewhere.. I wish he was still coaching for Detroit though...

  • Yeah, someone ough to teach the red wings to fight, or atleast get someone who can. They have too many great player for a team with NO enforcer (Darren is no enforcer).

  • who needs to fight when your winning Stanley Cups? lol. And they do have Mccarty and Downey. And im sure they will bring Downey up from the minors when they are going to play some talentless team like the Avs...

  • They need someone to protect Zetterberg and them guys. Red Wings has probably never been this good before. Its in competition with the 97 roster. So they could need someone to protect against possible cheapshots.

  • One of the great hockey fighters of all time. Vicious right hand. A good guy though and a team player. Never brutalized his victims after he desrtoyed them. Just layed them down and let them bleed.

  • i actually have ment joey, he married into my family, hes a real cool guy. but i wouldnt want to fight him, GO RED WINGS 2008 CHAMPS!

  • Joey Kocur was the BEST FIGHTER the NHL has ever seen. Joey Kocur could have been a Pro Boxer in my Opinion because when he hit you, you felt closer to your tombstone. Joey THANKS for the Memories in New York City !! God Bless You Mr. Iron Fist!!!

  • I think if I accidentally bumped into Kocur I'd say "I'm sorry Mr. Kocur, I didn't mean to bump into ya Please excuse me, while I turtle..."

  • Have any of you ever seen Kocur's knuckles?

I'm pretty sure I'd never get in a fight with a guy who looks like he goes out and bare-knuckle boxes with guys in full plate mail.

  • His knucles look like ground hamburger

  • Yeah his knuckles are a horror show. That's ok it's the mark of a champion lol

  • oh yeah, its like getting punched with a metal ball of hate.

  • What a fighter.

    Got to see him once.

    Surprisingly strong.

In my 20+ years of watching the Wings, he put the most fear into the opposition I've saw, even more than Probert.

  • jeez its like someone throwing a cinder block in your face!

  • Toughest SOB to ever play the game a right hand like a jack hammer!! GO Joey!!!

  • the scary thing about kocur is no matter how good a fighter the other guy was, he could end the fight with one punch

  • I've read somewhere that Kocur and Probert fought each other but when they realized who they had they exchanged softer punches. So i've read.

  • yeah, during a brawl they ended up with one another and when the realized who they were getting ready to fight they kind of stopped for a second.

  • They fought 3 times, and they didn't let up on each other. Once they got going, it didn't matter who they fought, they were out for the win.

  • the jackhammer.

  • Probert/Kocur....Tyson/Ali, it will never be settled. god I miss the old days. GO WINGS!

  • The Red Wings of the mid 80's to the early 90's were the greatest team I've ever watched...Kocur, Probert, Delorme, Gallant...the toughest team ever...rather have that than a sissy team that wins cups...

  • Joe Kocur was one of the baddest dudes I've ever seen go in my 30+ years of watching hockey. An all-timer.

  • bob probert was a great fighter no doubt, but the coccaine made him even more crazier and wild...if joey kocur ever sniffed coccaine like probert did he would have ended up in jail for killing people on the ice...i have so much more respect for kocur.. drugs are for losers...and thats what probert was.. just like twist with the steroids...

  • Hey there's this guy from Boston who says Probert was tougher than Kocur. You guys agree?

  • Fuck no, that guy's a dildo.

  • Greatest video I ever seen!!!

  • I'll never forget the back page of the NY Post when Kocur was acquired. 302 (penalty minutes) and his picture. He quickly became my favorite player. He was ferocious!!

  • From one NYR fan to another we were blessed to have this guy on our team. He is the best. I like Colton but please Joey was the best. My only regret is that we didnt get him a little younger.

  • hey dsnitris, thx for posting, classic tune, classic fighter, awesome vid!

  • This is the perfect music for this compilation. A song called "Iron fist."

  • no wonder joey's hand is fucked up.

  • It was said in an article when he was traded to the Rangers, that him and Dave Brown were friends,so Ranger fans don't look for him to drop the gloves.

  • what does that mean? Bob Probert is his BEST friend and the godfather to his child and they fought. Afterwards Joey called Probert's mother and apologised!! (True story)

  • and
