this might sound a bit silly but do you keep them in constant darkness? n also ive jus got a boa n ive been letting him settle in 4 about 5 days now, all he seems to do is stay in his hide, how should i feed him? should i dysterb him n take of his hide n try n feed him, i mean do boas need to strike feed? ny help would b much appreciated. cheers
@pistoffperson feed him in a separate container, bath tub, plastic bin, etc... so they won't mistaken your hand for food. i let it sit in the container for 1 hr while it eats then put it back in the cage. wait a 2 days before handling bcuz they might regurgitate. i hold it at least 2 times a week. most snakes feed once a week. here's a link to vpi's website with tons of info. vpi.com/publications/boa_constrictor
@pistoffperson why get a boa without knowing theyr feeding habits or even if they are diurnal/nocturnal? hope that poor things isnt suffering too much
@canibal138 he isnt suffering at all, idont know why you would think that from my question, just wanted to know what the propper way is. i usually just put the rat on a plate outside his hide n just leave him to it.
beautiful snakes. love the custom enclosures, what are they made of n how much did they cost to build or buy?
