Nice Venator, seems a little costly with 9600 tris. Do you think some of them could be taken out with normal mappings? Despite that, it looks amazing. Great Job.

@IthArosenivai Absolutely, but this model wasn't meant for "games" but a as close as possible replica of the Venator. But yes, you'd save allot of tris by using a normal/displacement map

@ZuKahta they have point defence weopons on the hanger doors plus they can close and open from inside hanger and bottom of hull has point lazor weopons.... some turbo lazor... they have gunports u see them in the movie and others are just smaller lazor cannons.

but what they should have done is just send a ship at light speed, the impact alone would destroy the death star.

no maya is not a free program, cost near to a thousand pounds, you can get a 30 day trial, if you want but the only 3d program that i can think of that's free is "Blender" just go onto their website and download it (:

Its Republic (and latter Empire as seen at the end of Revenge of the Sith), while true it is called Republic Cruiser by many officially its name is the Venator class Star Destroyer.

Wow. It's OFFICIAL class is a Venator class Star Destroyer, much like the Victory-class was commisioned during the Clone Wars. Bleh, the New Clone Wars is confusing everyone with their "Jedi Cruiser" crap.

Have to say that I think the Venator Star Destroyer is my favorite of all the Star Wars ship. Tho I think the Trade Federation Battleships are a VERY close second. They're so epicly huge and I love the differnt, circular design. Not to mention the amount of Whoop Ass they both can dish out. :)
