Great men with true honor will often find them self alone with little friends. Cowards roam in packs and herds like the wind with no sense of inner direction. Machiavelli is a great man who wrote the truth and was punished by other men who fear his truth.
It's lonely at the top, it is dangerous to be honest in an dishonest time.

I think you meant WAS a great man. Also you are correct on how he was feared for speaking the truth. Although plenty of people have thought of these things but were never recognized. I'm sure you have thought about some of his strategies before knowing he wrote it down in a book. Those who have not are the people in those packs.
