For crying out loud she commited 10 acts of genicide, (two was a war she started) broken countless laws more then the combine amount of Kirk and Picard not to mention she put her crew in more dangers then the accedent prone drivers!! If she wasn't such maniac, her crew would have never been lost to began with and because they were lost, her crew couldn't leave thus being in 7 years of hell!

@Chynaash I have always been under the impression that Janeway was, perhaps, the most remarkable captain to have ever graced viewers screens. Her ratings are beyond substantial and she also has the overwhelming approval of her supportive crew. I must then conclude that if a person, whom of which may pray for prose half so eloquent as yours, finds her less than unimpeachable that Janeway is, beyond all scrutiny, the best captain to ever have been written and cast. (P.S. I like her ethics) =D

Even though i also love Shatner's 'Kirk' and Steward's 'Picard'.

I think Janeway was a perfect example of a strong and determined woman, in a position which is often thought of as a "man's job".

And to everyone criticizing her looks, just wait untill u look in the mirror @ the same age she is now. This woman still looks amazing for her age, especially when u concider she's a smoker(so i've heard), and is older then 55 years.

You appear to know so little about women's health and life cycles. When women reach menopause, there are numerous factors that cause weight loss/weight gain and even hair loss. Most women gain weight as they get older, as it is nature's way preparing for illness and injury. If Kate was 53kilos and became ill, she'd look terrible. Plus, her mother whom she cared deeply, but has passed away had Alheimers. Therefore, let the weight issue alone. Kate hasn't let herself go.

The woman is 55 years old, i think she aged brilliantly. She's still beautiful, kind and down to earth. Definitely wouldn't change her. Don't forget she was 40ish during voyager. That's no spring chicken.
