When people say European Metal, I instantly think of Power Metal as the movement that characterizes it the most. The style came out of the NWOBHM but was mostly populated by bands from the continent. Bands like Helloween, Stradivarius, Blind Guardian, and the plethora of Italian bands were a force in the mid to late 80s, and made a very European sounding music.

And its not "English" its "British" otherwise it could be EHM - English Heavy Metal...

It's not the fact that Metallica covered songs they liked that generates hatred(such a strong word, is it not?) but the fact that some of their "fans" search out every original that was covered, only to come to the retarded conclusion that, "Oh, Metallica's version was better, these guys suck". I can't tell how many times I've seen this and how much it just pisses me off man. So anger is then generated.

Fantastic song. I was fortunate to get it on a Japanese edition of "A Time Of Changes" as a bonus track, along with the 1981 version of "Blitzkrieg". I agree, the vocals are kick-ass!

" Metallica's better, because they are" what a poorly concieved statement, Kill Em All isnt even entirely thrash, more into speed. And the album being released '83 doesnt mean it was really new (aside from a few songs) Exciter, Accept, Acid, and even Sodom were playing fast before they even released an album.

They were the first American Band to up there tempos, and no, Slayer, Exodus, or anthrax, or Overkill werent playing as fast as they did later until they saw Metallica play. You seem set against Metallica, did they piss in your food?
