  • I need help finding a cheap(200$) preamp for my voicetone synth. Any suggestions? I don't plan on using it for any instruments.

  • thanks for this video, actually you are using the same mics i'm debating about, could you give me some advice on that? i need it for male vocals (tenor voice), which one would you pick for that if you could only have one? the 4047, 4050 or 4081?

  • @keiiferrer If you are using the mic for vocals, I would recommend the AT-4047/SV. The multi patterned AT4050 and the AT4081 Ribbon Mic, which is bi-directional is best for musical instruments. They are great for picking up the ambiance of the room with several instruments being played. The AT-4047/SV's pattern excludes sounds coming in around the mic so the focus is on your vocals.

  • @EclecticSoundTV thanks for the advice, in the end i got a shure ksm44, but the at4047 will be next on my list! (i just love the quality of at mics), thanks!

  • I'm looking to buy a really nice mic. I was interested in maybe getting the Audio-Technica AT4047 but after doing some reading, I noticed there is also the Audio-Technica AT4050 and AT4060. Have you used these mics before and if so is there any real noticeable difference in real world application? Someone also suggested to me the AKG C12vr but I don't think I can afford that one. Have you used this mic before? I also was thinking of maybe the electro voice re20 or re27

  • Thanks for the video, I was interested in getting the Audio Technica AT4047SV. Is there a difference in the AT4047 and AT4047 / SV or are they the same? I was trying to compare this to the Electro Voice RE27N/D Dynamic Cardioid Microphone. Any thoughts? I'd like to start doing voice overs or podcasting / internet radio.

  • @poisonr There is only the AT 4047/SV and the AT4047MP Multi-pattern Condenser Microphone. We haven't tested the latter microphone. Here is description of the AT4047MP from Audio-Technica:

This versatile side-address condenser offers selectable polar patterns, a warm vintage sound, low self-noise, a wide dynamic range and high SPL capability. Switchable 10 dB pad & 80 Hz high-pass filter.

Audio-Technica makes a stereo condenser that plugs right into your laptop for voice-overs.

  • Do you think the Create xt is good for getting auto - tune effect. I tried the helicon C1 singled pedal with hardtune with pitch correction and I didnt hear much autot-tune effect

  • @jstyles3000 We haven't tested the new T.C. Helicon Singled Pedals. They are cheaper than the Create XT & Harmony G XT but do a lot less. The Create XT has tweeking capabilities so I think you can dial in the amount of Hardtune or Autotune that you want. I don't see that feature on the singled pedals.
