I just had the problem with my old school ipod classic. It was dead for years and left alone. Then right after Steve Jobs died it came to life. It just froze now. So I rebooted it. Tried turning it on and it kept getting stuck at the apple logo part. I could hear it trying to start. So i left it alone for a minute tried again and could hear it running smoothly. It's up and running again. This thing is a brick of an ipod. 60gb and its a classic 4th generation. NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR IPOD.

Ipod classic sucks! its the same problem for everyone including myself and the only solution is that they will replace it but you have to pay half of its price or so. Don't expect to get anything else by the ipod itself only...and you have to return your damage ipod!

I had got the same problem, I just waited for over an hour suddenly it worked. But I lost all my memory and I had to sync everything back.

this happend to me..... it cant get to the logo screen and like it makes this weird noise too

before i start, disconnect the power wire from pc to ipod!! you have you tried holding menu/select and immediately after it reboots press play/select. this should reformat the hard drive and then it will say OK To Disconnect. at this point plug into your pc. then click restore.after complete, click update. this should work however if it doesn't then ipod has parts issue. hope this helps and best of luck man!

okay guys i have a problem...my ipod classic ah actually its my mom given by my aunt but im the one who using it so im putting some songs there then the ipod just get lag so sometimes its happening and so i just wait to get lowbatt then im charging it but its 7 hours its not charging its only said "please wait very low battery"the apple logo just showed..so is it the battery or the hard disk coz if its hard disk im doomed..if its battery its fine coz its replaceable right??

you just need to conect it to itunes and reset it from itunes :D that worked with mine

just keep pressing both of the skip buttons at the same time or hold them mines did the same thing but mines came back on some how

just try to keep resetting it or hook it up to the comp then disconnect it after u shut the comp down... NIGGAZ
