Man, you should never split uncovered on one side! What if the cager you're splitting alongside decides to change lanes to the lane on your uncovered side suddenly, and of course, didn't see you? Crash! Maybe worse, possibly splat! Always split covered by a cage on both sides...cagers can see other cages, they never see us.

Looks pretty wide to me, Lots of room. It's not as scary as the video makes it look. Just be safe and give yourself time to stop.
