Street Fighter came before hand. SNK made Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury to deal with Capcom's juggernaut. The King of Fighters is a cross over fighting game series, taking characters from all over SNK land and putting them in a brawl.

Your friends argument is rendered moot by a simple point: The two games play nothing alike.

Everyone has their preference, but you can't deny that both series' aren't great.

Sony Computer Entertainment of America's got some policies against the sale of individual sprite based 2D games. Basically, games with 2D sprites either have to be bundled or have 3D models added to get brought over to the US.

Well that explains why KOF's 2k and 2k1 and KOF's 2k2 and 2k3 where sold together.Also explains why the classic FF games that got ported to the PS1 got bundled together. But WTF why the hell does it have that policy?

They thought that it was the best way to show that the PS2 was a superior system. Plus, they thought that Americans hated sprites (which is actually kinda true, to an extent).

And in the end, it did nothing, because the PS2 is still considered the weakest console in terms of raw processing power (but the best overall).

Man, that sucks. I also heard that KOF2002UM will not be on U.S. PS2's (so far) I heard that is only gonna be on the 360 in the U.S. I hope that is not true.

Actually, despite what this vid implies, this is only Kyo's theme. Iori and Shingo (even Kyo EX) have their own themes when they're leader. Awesome theme though.

Say WHAT!? Iori has his own leader theme!? I knew Shingo did, but... well, I don't really like Iori. :p

I'll have to fix this problem right away.

But I do think that this is sort of like a little bit of each of them. I mean, it starts out with some hard guitar rifs, just like Kyo's style, then switches into a blaring saxophone, which is more Iori's style, and finally gose into some synth music, which matches up with Shingo.

But that's just my opinion.
