Okay in case your turned off by the "new" controls. Yes the default controls are jacked but you CAN change them to ORIGINAL so you handle your flying minigun with oldschool style. This game will have you sweating adrenaline. To me, as a guy who grew up with ace, I give it a 10/10. Do yourself a favor and let the black blood of your enemies flow as they burst into flames.

To answer your question, you have the option to change the game setting control to Original Like in the previous Ace series, I have this game and it`s Friggen awsome!. Dog fight mode made this even more realistic, you can pilot a chopper and even use a gunship the ac30. 10/10 Get this and you won't regret it. AND IT'S ONLINE CO-OP/DM/CTP/

I've been following the AceCombat series and this 1 is the best BY FAR. Dog fighting only adds to the game, you can still shootem down the old way if you want. Highly, highly recommend.

i was dissapointed with the demo for this.. after loving the previous games and playing them to hell. the graphics havent really improved much and it reminds me too much of hawx. theres no more fantasy world with the odd bits of future tech, its all now. bad show. worst thing though, is the flying. hit the stick hard right, you turn right, rather than rolling right. no more barrel rolls = no more realistic simulation

I've actually managed to avoid the sharkmouth's missile for a couple of seconds. What you do is don't fire any missiles at the last target, and let your ally take it out. as soon as that happens, break off and evade like hell. of course, there's no way to avoid a cutscene like this, so the missile has insane tracking, but it was still awesome!

Actually, it's slightly more realistic NOT to hear a sonic boom. Pilots don't hear any sort of "Boom" when the break the sound barrier, and seeing as you are playing as the pilot, it's only natural.

Namco made a bad move by moving to the real world as opposed to the fictional world in the AC games of PS2. The older games were spectacular! A TRUE AC fan will know that this won't appeal to him. Ace combat has lost that dark feeling you used to get when playing the old games.

the DFM adds a refreshing new aspect to the game. i actually felt a bit challenged in the demo. no more firing missles and forgeting:P then you can fly in other kinds of craft like choppers. hell yes this will be THE best AC even altho if it doesn't have a fictional aircraft (doesn't need to have a super laser or a freakin nuke>_> something within the possibles of today's tech) i would be slightly dissapointed
