I'm sure Chopin didn't think of a fugue as a tedious boring exercise. Especially one's by Bach since he was a lover of Bach. If Chopin were alive today and could understand English then he'd really enjoy this.
@thegoddescomposer nah, you just have to understand the structure and plan it out before you write it, first come up with your subject and place it at the various points in the exposition, then come up with the various countersubjects, then Just replicate everything where it needs to go
@F1R1NMAHLAZAH I love the use of the word "just" here. The hard part is to have the subject, the answer, the countersubjects and the episodes to actually work together as a musical whole. I also know how to write a fugue, and I've tried, and I've failed.
why did he choose the voices to do this and he certainly enjoyed singing his music at all times at the piano right along in time with every note he played.
beautiful! the pizzicato part at 2:50 and its context is.... i don;t have the right words for it. heavenly or something..the instrumental part is a beautiful transcription of bach brandenburg concerto no 2 i guess..
@shockthetop1pc Well there is that one fugue called the "Geographical Fugue" for speaking chorus, that relies more on interlocking rhythms than four different interlocking melodies.
Gracias por compartirlo.

I read that Chopin, when directing his students to practice, would get them to practice Bach, rather than his own compositions.
But you're right, he never wrote a fugue!

@oleioleo The first few notes might remind you of Tartini's Devil's Trill; they reminded me a little of it.
