I must say Rammstein have the best live show ever and after Rammstein there is definitly IF as the second best worldwide (in respect of live performance). The only reason bands change is to increase their fan base. Which in turn is to increase their sales. Metallica with their "Black Album" is a perfect example. Basically, I disagree with everything you just said. Bands should never change. RatM never changed and they're still one of the best alt. metal bands ever. Unless there's an incredibly good reason for the change, like a band member leaving, and unless there's an incredibly good reason for that, I usually give up on the band.
