  • If you reduce the playback frame rate, it's not slow motion.

  • why is that you need to be 18 or older to see this crap while there are video tutorials on how to make gun powder for all ages ??!!!

  • @thepcguy01 I don't know...

  • Welcher Idiot kahm auf die IDee dieses Video Youtube zu melden das man sein Alter bestätigen muss?

  • So...what this experiment will acheive?

  • moose humping and canada

  • You should just play with the legos and leave chemistry to the pros =P

  • @Exiletheheretic This isn't chemistry. How are you sure he isn't a professional?

  • yeah it's dangerous now... cuz u gave more than 26 thousend the idea to do this...

  • Next words heard: "I'm not cleanin' that up!"

  • Wow, I can replicate that with a 50 cent firecracker...

  • Wow...fucking dooms day music for blowing up a tin can...

  • so, do you have to be 18 to buy the 400+ volt rated legos? and can you get them at radioshack?

  • Lego? ^^

  • I dont want to imagine the music you´d choose for a WWII video.

  • Is this music supposed to be epic or something? ...kids these days...

  • 0:21 listen to the song!

    SALSA COOKIES

    WINDMILL COOKIES

    THEY'LL GIVE YOU GONORRHEA!

  • ...and thanksgiving leftovers will never be the same

  • you used a car battery, wtf did you think will happen?!

  • wow you can blast an entire city with that tecnology!!! awesome

  • WHat where the voltage and capacitance of the capacitor?

  • Wait a minute, I just want to make sure I got this right (?) ... that the writing at the beginning of the video said " A STRIPE OF ALUMINUM FOIL...." LoL. This isn't a "strip" that they're using now, it's a "stripe". I guess maybe those of advanced science have simply bypassed the correct use of the English language, in favor of remarkable experiments such as this one. (sighs)

  • its not the aluminum explodeing. the high charge in the aluminum from the power source is causing the hydrogen molicules to seperate from the oxygen thus evaporating and egniteing with the charge and oxygen fueling extra to explode even more.

  • pleas the name of the song

  • THE NAME OF THE SONG PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! :'(

  • Why is it that the simple minded of humanity are always fascinated with the most simplistic stuff. Duh, no crap that electricity has power behind it, try running from a fireball in an engine room dude. Children should play with capacitance.

  • time warp

  • hi jack *boom*

  • Great Tune...!! Great Video...!!

  • Hahahahahah ball of plasma!!! hahahahaha. Please tell me you were kidding and that you weren't that stupid

  • STRIP!

  • *strip

  • spoiled the whole area...oh bastards :) btw it was not a slow motion at all, that requres special camera.

  • 1:00 ... Now clean that up :)

  • ugh its just a thermal nuclear drive people nothing speacial!....... or is it O.o?

  • soo...how DO you generate so much power?!

  • lol you misspelled strip at 0:08

  • or you could use a microwave...

  • @jmb92878

    or u can use HAARP

  • the lego people in th lego house are like wtf man i just cleaned the yard

  • yeah thats why thermite's components consists of aluminum powder :)

  • How about trying steel wool, wondering if it could give you a bigger bang for your buck?

  • It would be nice to add some Fe2O3 powder into the jar ;-)

  • as in the last comment in video, i believe its not fake, so shuld i try it at home?

  • lol, u used high voltage legos xD

  • O Fortuna!! =D <3 Carmina Burana + explosions. I like this video, a lot. =]

  • i think you mean strip...

  • wow how amazing.

That is so epicccc. and boring.

    That explosion was tineeeyyyyyyyyyyyy!

  • so many easier ways to use aluminum foil to make things POP

  • the thing in the backround made out a legoes!?!?!

  • Why so epic music?!?!

  • What is it like without the water, I would get you would get a nice ball of plasma.

  • @michalchik

Yes, without water the aluminium foil completely disapperas in a ball of plasma, generating a bright flash and a very loud bang!

  • @Coiltec I would like to see that one!

  • @Coiltec Do it!

  • @Coiltec oooh make a video of that

  • @Coiltec don,t the use this in the flashbang grenades?

  • what is the name of this song

  • @MrCasimopo89

Carl Orff - O Fortuna (from Carmina Burana)

  • @MrCasimopo89 Salsa cookies!

  • Sounds like none of you that commented here understand the mechanism of why there was an explosion. It is actually quite simple. i am thinking it mere ly shows how uninformed people are today about simple chemistry.

  • Whats the song thing xD

  • lol he make cans go boom boom :)

  • wats te name of the song

  • @mastergfbspr Carmina Burana by a person i cannot remember

  • Thats some epic explosions right there.

  • i think those r legos

  • It dont look so next generation to me...

  • Al+Fe2O3=thermite. i <3 Aluminum

  • @Gooberzful its so SHIIIIINNNNYYY!!!!

  • so what if you shocked a can of soda

  • what song is that

  • everything looks better in slomo.

  • oh and the next generation explosion is not foil lol its a reactable reusable grand canyon that reverses the sun and burns any country that fucks with the usa of the map ya figure that out.

  • now you want me to explain what you did

water seperates energy usualy to the top not shure where you placed your foil but the top is the most positive ions so your making hydrogen but check this out vaporise the water then just put the megawat power to charge the steam with frequency a fullwave scanner antena should work then ignite which your igniter is the heat your putting through the foil but thats way to much wasted energy do it my way end gas fuck bp

  • very impressive demonstration of the huge ammount of explosive power ....unleashed by an simple capacitor... no one can imagine what huge dmg a aluminium foil-bomb would do to an skyscraper

  • Try drano and alluminum haha

  • Are those legos?

  • @chris12123212

Yes, there are some legos to hold the cables so that they don't touch each other...

  • @Coiltec Necessity is the mother of invention, they say. :p

  • @chris12123212

    lego*

you must have stole that extra "s" from Maths- not math.

  • do you see the purple energy getting out from the bocal at 0:44

  • @SpartanG61 ~_~ i think you were looking at the label you wish you saw some purple energy. lol

  • Doesnt the explosive effect have a little more to do with the MEGAWATTS OF POWER U are putting into it than the aluminum foil itself? ....just sayin.... :)

  • YEAHHH LEGO

  • fegget

  • Add sme hydrogenium or gas

  • pink flame ^^ cool.

  • ok u idiots stop it with this science bull crap and just watch stuff blow up i mean isnt that wat everyone wants

  • aluminium foil + household hydrochloric.... be care with da acid

  • no shit you never put liquid metal in water everybody knows that it explodes

  • lego engine... REALLY? O_O

  • i like turtles..

  • Kids, don't play with water. =P

  • STRIP, not "stripe"

    "Megawatts of power?

    How much amperage? Voltage?

Why did you not aim so object is at the BOTTOM of this frame so we could see how high it went?

    THINK and DO OVER

  • @robertgift lol megawatts! wheres the doc? we need 1.21 GIGAWATTS MARTY!

  • Unfortunately, the energy density of actual explosives is much higher than that of the capacitors required to cause explosive vaporization of the aluminum.

  • thats why you dont put aluminium in the microwave!

  • ummm i think i did somtin like this in my microwave

  • why would the can jump up in the air when the expelled water, should push the can down? let me guess...anti gravity? :-)

  • thats just very bad "slow motion"

  • LOl. You just use the Aluminium stripe as an electrode, creating Plasma from Water around it (works upwards 5k Watts)....

  • Lego housing ftw!

  • is that a block of legos behind the capacitor

  • looks like you will burn you house down, or die out of shortage

  • What is the spark we see at 0:22?

  • Off topic from the actual content of this video, what is the music played in the background? I've been trying to find it for a long time, but I do not know the name of it.

  • @katsumewentz the songs is by carl orff- the songs is called carmina burana : o fortuna

  • EH?? Its the electric thats the explosive.. Not the aluminium foil.

  • Much bigger bang using some 100KV caps and some nice heavy copper wire. Still, anything that goes BOOM is fun ^.^

  • did you seriously use housing made of legos for that device??! lol nice

  • I pretty highly doubt that you're able to get "megawatts" of power out of a capacitor. Keep in mind, a megawatt is a million watts...

  • needs to be done and a massice scale mayeb 10x?

  • haha I almost exploded a microwave by doing this. Not on purpose ofcource.

  • If you take plumberx and tinfoil and put the tinfoil in it then shake it quick with the top on the container it will make a gas bomb.

  • Even Mice cant be killed!!!

  • wow now you just gave Osama another idea!!

  • no your wrong, it will never have a megawatt of electricity, never. and a person who uses legos as a capacitor holder should never even be given a device of such power.

  • lool use gazoline!!! then... where is my house??... where is my fucking house XD

  • lol 400v + water + lego housing

  • i like how you used O fortuna as the background music. very epic!

  • wowo a capacitor i can tell your bord

  • Replace the water with 12 ounces Diesel fuel, watch the fence go bye bye.

    ;-)

  • Diesel fuel actually won't work all that well, the flash point is too much higher than room temperature (somewhere around 140 F).

Gasoline, on the other hand, has a flash point in the -30's. Big time explosion.

  • @ScubaSteveabc

Compressed nitromethane and methanol. about 50 psi

  • is that lego in the backround =)

  • Not that song again please... :(

  • That song was making me wish I had a handy bank of charged up caps and a foil hat.

  • this is what they put under cars in iraq suspected of having bombs, it blows up the componits of the bombs with out them going off

  • same effect as a draino bomb...which is a lot easier to make/use

  • water is tasty

  • @PYROXOM , why do 28 l like ur comment???

  • @MrCasimopo89 because water is tasyu and they like water also.

  • the musics abit over dramatic and are those legos in teh back???

  • What kind of power source was used to do this? I'm not familiar with voltages.

  • A capacitor was used.

Capacitors can deliver lots of power for a short time - perfect for this application...

  • @Coiltec, your ability to take apart a disposable camera and play with electricity astounds me. The military would use this if conventional explosives weren't so damn light and stable.

  • Aside from the obvious components of Oxygen and Hydrogen, Aluminum will actually burn as well, and is a component in many solid rocket boosters. It is no surprise that putting all three together yields interesting results! ;)

  • @caffiend81 lol thermite ;)

  • aluminum foil and "The Works" toilet bowl cleaner, just a bit of each in a 2 liter bottle close it tight and run like hell! now thats a foil bomb

  • jajaja epic

  • lol electrolysis. when the hydrogen and oxygen separated from the water the current set it off lol

  • Its O Fortuna guy, by a german composer Carl Orff.

  • Not something dangerous...

  • music from the x factor lol!!

  • Comment removed

  • LMAO wow music

  • Its not wow music.

  • Go back to your cave, Mister obvious troll...

  • this is actually very interesting. If aluminium did got vaporized, then it reacted violently wih water as an oxidizer. if it were under a strong oxidizer, say, hydrogen peroxide, it would be a even bigger bang. 5+, this thing is great....

  • this video made me pee my pants cuz of the funny music!

  • The music doesn't fit the video. Don't sully the music.

  • Try thermite instead. It's just aluminum and rust powder. Much easier to ignite and much more devastating.

  • thermite easy to ignite no chance unless you have acsses to magnesium ribbon (unreliable),flash powder/very hot burning pyro comp and even then its just a fizzle with big light if you want a bang (via goldschmit reaction) cupric (II) oxide is the way forward along with tungsten and molybdenum oxides.

  • what is this song called

  • O Fortuna - carl orff

  • LOOOL look @ the LEGO- house... :D

  • now put it in your pants and see what happens...

  • I sense a coming development in anti rape technology...

  • That is what happens if you vapourize anything it expands. The quicker the better.

Sorry mate but don't understand your enthusiasm. Go read up on some physics and you might understand its not that unusual.

  • so what...

  • no offense... ur slow motion sucks look at time warp

  • ZoMg, thats a nice capacitor you have there o.O

  • emm isnt more dangerous and even cheaper aluminium foil balls and clorhidric acid in a cocacola glass bottle and then shaking it and trowing towards your darned target????

  • O Verona?

  • Or you could use toilet bowl cleaner and aluminum foil strips :)

  • what is the song name..???

  • @deintodestag o fortuna i think

  • "O Fortuna"..also.."Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi"

It's the first and last movement from the main piece titled:

"Carmina Burana: Cantiones profanae cantoribus et choris cantandae comitantibus instrumentis atque imaginibus magicis" - composed by Carl Orff in the 1930's.

  • BTW: I'm not that a music buff...I just have a copy of it on my computer...and googled it.

  • o fortuna

  • Carmina Burana
