  • love this movie...

  • there's no replacement for displacement/big motor big power!....who ever said 4 cylinder engines are superior to a v8 in terms of Power and Torque is on crack.

  • Yeah 0:20 an extra sharp mustard in the blower an the engine runs like sick :D

  • hate riceburners and tuner cars.....

  • Great Movie to me....HOT ROD

  • A 4 superiour to a v-8 and faster are you on crack? run your 42psi of boost in a v-8 and see what happens dip shit 8psi will blow your doors off

  • the good days of drag racing we need more of that

  • good olds...no fuckin riceburners!!!!!!

  • Yep and from there on you all went down the drain..xD

  • @9518437

Yeah, it's really a shame that these monster are now obsolete just because small japanese engines are more powerful and much faster. I hate to think that in-line four is superior to V8, but what can I do about it? It's just a cold fact, and I have to live with that.

  • Do the same tecnocrap to a v8 and get more power!

Remember, there is no replacement for displacement.

  • @mikko1200 Superior? Not when you wanna listen to 'em purr...

  • @mikko1200 Small japanese engines are not more powerful and much faster when talking apples to apples. Nobody shows up with an inline 4 engine in Pro Stock class. Yeah, take a turbocharger, nitrous, overhead cam, roller lifters, etc and everything else being done to japanese engines these days and put it on a V8, the V8 is going to make more power. That's why Japanese put V8 engines in their trucks, not inline 4's. And the Japanese V8 will have no edge over the American V8.

  • @arizonaresident1 OHV V8's are old tech.

If you want real power look at modern (European or Japanese) I6's, V8's or V12's.

  • @blork5 Then I am old tech, because in the type of racing I am involved with/follow, the OHV is used. Specifically the small block chevy. You can still make a LOT of power out of these (900 hp 410 cubic inch normally aspirated, for example). For modern engines, the Ford Mustang GT is going to make as much HP per litre of a comparable Japanese or European V8, I'm sure. I just checked and yeah, the Mustang GT has more HP per litre than the Lexus 4.6L V8.

  • @arizonaresident1

    1) The record for most horsepower per litre for an NA production engine is still held by Ferarri.

    2) The new NA 4.0l V8 of the BMW M3 delivering 400hp isn't too shabby either.

    3) The Mustang GT is not OHV but SOHC.

The reason OHV V8's are still used is because they are cheap at the junkyard.

In Europe old beetle engines are still popular for this same reason in some racing.

  • is this movie available on dvd?

  • It used to be hard to find, but now there have been cheap copies of the original you can find on Ebay I believe... It's a pretty good movie for car nuts, I recommend getting your hands on it.
