  • allerbeste liefdessong

  • Tres bien.

  • Frank can't do this...it's ok...this is good.

  • i will wait for uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu .... even if will take for ever ......

  • I do not wish to start an argument with you. It is not worth it, however as a true Steve and Eydie fan I will inform you keithypoo31 that Steve will insist that between the two of them Eydie is the more talented. I have been a devoted fan of their music since the age of five and in the almost 41 years I've been following the events of their life Steve has continually announced that she is truly the more talented one. He has informed his public that she completes his life and his music.

  • Great voice, too bad he hooked up with, edie. He would have been much, much bigger without her. Just imagine if tom jones came on stage with a woman all the time, how loud can you say GAYYYYY

  • Underrated vocalist. Such a clear even voice, no muss or fuss. And togather with Eydie gold!

  • This song was nominated Oscar best song for 1965 from the movie "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg" but lost to another great song of the time - The shadow of your smile from the movie "The sandpiper"

  • The best song ever I know!

  • i love it! And move is very nice, Catrin Denev the best actris

  • oh yes, this is the song i really can't forget till my last breath.

  • I have dozens of songs by Steve Lawrence but I've never heard his version of this song until today--merci!

  • Steve Lawrence один из лучших исполнителей этой песни ! Спасибо.

  • Steve L is just perfect in this song...I had almost forgetten about Steve L & Eydie Gourme (love that name). ..the duo and as soloists are simply superb singers...at a level of Frank S and even better on certain songs...I mean, Barbra S and Jack Jones are my all time favs and now I'm adding Steve L and Eydie Gorme. Simply irresistable..

  • Think Steve and Edie Gormay sang together ,and think they were married.

  • when he was young , he was hot . but when he grew older , he got sexier :D

  • this song make me cry since i was a kid. And i don't know why...

  • I love the fact that it starts with a modulation!!

  • I have been a Sinatra fan since birth. I even listened to his incredible singing voice in the womb. I've been a Steve L. fan since the age of five and I have to say that I prefer Steve's interpretation of this song over Frank's.

    Sorry Frank, please forgive me!

  • @liebtiff Don't apologize. Steve's the better singer. Period. Sinatra had a certain style and reputation--garnered mostly by wagging his d*ck all over Hollywood, not by his musical talent.

  • @nauort23 False.

  • @liebtiff Frank will forgive ya, he didn't care much for the song anyway.

  • What a nice song of yesterday!

  • A very similar version to Matt Monroe's.

  • i love this song !!!

  • first time hearing steve lawrence, very nice

  • This guy along with singers like Vic Damone and Matt Monroe were in a class of their own. You dont hear singers of this quality now.

  • You can always distinguish the great singers, because you can tell who they are after they sing just a couple of notes. Steve Lawrence is one of those rare, special ones.

  • Steve Lawrence and Matt Monro have the same singing voice. Sometimes it is hard to tell them apart!

  • When I first read your remark I thought you were nuts but you know what, you are right. I do hear Matt Monro's voice in Steve's singing. There are a lot of similarities both very very good singers.

  • They have very similar voices, but at the same time they have very distinctive voices. The truth is both have beautiful voices - I like them both !

  • I was just thinking that, you have to admit, theyre both amazing

  • I dedicate this song to my one and only 1st Love, Merilyn.

  • На Кобзона нашего похож. Тока Кобзон он погрубее.

  • I would say they choose the songs they

sing from the same songwriters such as

Michel Legrand, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin,

    Henry mancini, Gershwin, etc.

  • Back again :)

Man I wish I could sing like this guy,but alas, like millions of others,I'm flatter than a steamrolled pancake.

    Thankyou for sharing,lalalala...

  • Wow,I love this singers voice and this song, prior to which I'd never heard of him before.

  • Can you imagine if Steve had become a Cantor, even the goyim would go to shul!

By the way, Koussevitski sang at my aunts wedding in Poland before The War.

  • There's a little bit of the cantor in Steve.

I uploaded a vudeo based on his song

WHERE CAN I GO? which he sings in

english and yiddish. In a part of the

song it sounds as if a cantor is singing

in a synagogue. He could have been

a yiddish singer on the side...He sang

MY YIDDISHE MAME at Carnegie Hall

many years ago, and people are still

    talking about it.

  • I've got almost every Steve Lawrence record he ever made...that's realy something for someone who's a doo wop collector....Steve sang with Moishe Koussevitsky's choir in his youth...please don't ask, just google it.

  • Very interesting. I know that Steve is the

song of a cantor, and that he sang at the

synagogue. Are there any recods of him singing under his name " Sydney

    Liebowitz"?

  • i will wait until you recognise your sins the 10 commandment

  • idiot

  • yes hon i will wait for you

  • The Greatest Musical Masterpiece By The Great Master Michel Legrand. I Will Wait For You is a Glorious Tune. Umbrellas of Cherbourg a Glorious Film. Steve Lawrence sings this Song just Beautifly with Michel Legrand on Piano, a Great Combination.

  • The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964)

Just saw this movie on Netflix instant view. Awesome.

    Has this lovely score throughout.

  • my fav. version of this song I just love his voice so deep and soft and manly lol awesome I just love eydie and steve as a duo as well

  • Hi Albert:

I think that you put together the best Steve Lawrence videos. This song is terrific and he has done such a wonderful job of singing it. I love the Eydie video you also posted "When Angels Sing". Keep up the great work.

  • Hi Albert, Just want to say a great thank you for this sumptuous music! I think this is my favourite version of this song. Steve Lawrence's voice and Don Costa's lush orchestration together is just perfect! Have you heard him sing "People"? Just gorgeous! This guy can sing any song and he sounds wonderful! I love the instrumental version that you added at the end too.

  • Dear Albie: Thank you for this post. What beautiful music; I loved the photos. I'm glad you included Eydie. I have no idea how to post but Sunrise, Sunset with photos would be wonderful regards, ellenb

  • Thanks for your comments. I was lucky to find that 60s photo of Eydie and Steve, Eydie with

that mink stole. I have in my plans a medley

of steve and eydie singing sunrise sunset, and

also matchmaker matchmaker which Eydie recorded in the 1960s, both songs from the

    musical Fiddler on The Roof.
