On the other hand though, his style looks kinda gross. tail surf from the tail please, also please utilize noseride sections. Awesome video, all these guys are rite about the "hop 180" or "alley oop" or "bunny hop" whatever you want to call it. An aerial MUST go above the lip and requires a lot more speed and strength to achieve liftoff.

I don't think a longboard should be treated like 6'2"... Plus the dude doesn't really have style or flow... Needless to say pulling a 180º on a 9'0" + is much harder then on a shortboard.

Just kinda looks like a short boarder who's not that great and gets on a longboard and does just under a 180 hop on one of the super light Berger boards. Just get on a short board and surf smoother. Longboards just look wrong when they bounce around like that but I guess it needs to be done by somebody.

Yes I've ridden long boards many times... Boring. Unless the waves are 1 foot and you can't surf a short board or fish, why? I think they are especially lame when surfed like a short board. Longboards are for people who can surf and need help surfing. Also, log boarders tend to be the biggest wave hogs...

Thanks for pointing that out. If you were alive and surfing in 1990 you probably would of seen hawaii 9-0. James labrador was doing chop hops, and calling them backhand aerial 360's, that was the first known footage of them, so if the guy invented them he can name them what he likes...... besides aerial gets more hits than chop hop..ha

Terms like "RIPS" and "RADICAL" to describe longboarding seem like oxymorons to me. I prefer using "FLUID" "SMOOTH" "TECHNICAL" "TOES ON NOSE" "GRACEFUL" as terms and visions...IMO.
