hey every one i am a big fan of both cars so please dont get mad at me i love the m5 but i think the man driving the lambo shifted into 3rd gear instead of second sometimes the cars will not let you shift when you want to causing a delay and what i think happened is that he pressed the shift paddle 2 times shifting out of 1st gear but the car didnt shift when he wanted it to so it caught up to his command to shift again its a just a simple mistake

i was the one in the e39 m5...and yes, they are ALL 6-spd manual. this gallardo was fast, and i think it should have won, but i have kept up pretty good w/ cars that were supposed to eat me up alive...ie. rs4, 911s, etc.
the e39 w/ headers and intake makes quite an improvement...especially in the upper rpm band.
Impossible an M5 E39 can handle with a Gallardo. 0:05: I observed that the guy in the Gallardo shifted too early on to the next gear and then it'ss when the E39 got the Gallardo.
M5 can do 1.2G on the skidpan. They HANDLE. Not sure what the gallardo does, but 1.2G is WAY up there with any road car. The M5 really is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

NO E39 M5 was MADE SMG. they are all 6SPD MANUAL. 398Hp 4.9 V8.
