@IranHistory Please read "Muaajam Al-Buldan" by the great geographer Yaqut Al Hamawi, he assures in his book that Lurs are kurds and he wrote the book for about 1000 years ago before any western. Read some history before you call yourself iranhistory. Long live Luri kurds, long live great Kurdistan. Down with the terrorist state Iran.
@KurdLorstani : The word "Kurd" used to refer to pastoral nomads (sheep farmers) and not a language. You need to study the history my friend. I can tell you for certain that if you say "Kurd" to a Lor, you will start a fight.
@KurdLorstani: "Kurdish is a language of the Northwestern Iranian group which has likely separated from the other dialects of Central Iran during the early centuries CE (AD). There are no records of the Kurdish language prior to the 13th century." (History of the Kurds, U. of Chicago Press 1973) Bakhtiari and Lori are both very old Persian langauges - I can easily understand 80% of both.
You really are bigoted by default. You take one source to discredit the existence of an ancient people who preceded the advent of Parthians. Now, I challenge you if you can make out any sense of real Lori language, because what you have in Luristan is a tainted Lori which has been heavily influenced by Persian. Original Lori is same as Kurdish, in fact Kurds are Lori. Lurs, Bakhtiyari and Kurds are one of the same kind. Don't forget the capital of Bakhtiyari is Shahri Kurd.
@SikismekAtaturk : Actually you are incorrect. In the Old Iranian languages "Kurd" simply meant any person of Iranian background that was a pastoral person in the mountain areas (it had nothing to do with language then). This is long before the language you now call "Kurdish" existed and before it was called "Kurdish." In fact, Lori has ANCIENT Persian syntax and words that modern Persian does not have -- the Lor-Persians maintained these Old Persian words in their language.
@IranHistory This is the most laughable theory about the origin of the name Kurd. I challenge you to show us this Old Iranian Language reference. The Kurds have built cities such as Kermanshan and Elam before your ancestors trickled down from Asia. Don't forget the Sassanid are Kurds' forefathers, but like anything else, you've stole history and distorted facts. Lori speaking people have close affinity to Kurds than Persians, examples are: song style, folk dance, vocabularies etc.
Zayn al-Ābidīn Shīrvānī, the writer of the Persian geographic work Bustān al-siyāha (The Garden of the travel) in 19th century introduces the Laks as a Lur tribe. In our own times, the Laki writer Īzadpanāh, the writer of the Laki-Persian dictionary, emphasizes the Luri identity of the Laks and calls it a misunderstanding to consider the Laks as a part of the Kurds

"Luri and Bakhtiari are much more closely related to Persian, than Kurdish." Limbert, John: Journal of Iranian Studies Vol. 1, No. 2 at p. 47 (1968).
The Israeli sponsored propaganda won't help you -- Lors will never accept being called Kurds.
