  • I did that at a gas station the other day, the guy there didn't appreciate it very much.

  • Verry fun :D

  • Thats the only way to get these tires to seat on a bead.

  • The surgery to repair hand damage after playing such stupid tricks is quite interesting for students, Carry on and see if you can appear in a medical video as well as this one - fool !

  • That is awesome!

  • people have been doing that for truck "Semi tires" for many years. lol here i thought the video was about a tire really blowing up, as in having too much air and exploding.

  • he must of work for Firestone Tire Co. when they had bad tires at the time lol

  • holy jesuse this is funny as my mate tried this and he burnt himself

  • I'm going to try this with my bike tire now...

  • old news

  • Oh shit that was kinda cool.

  • Happy ending!

  • My buddy did this with a ATV tire. Used spray paint and starting fluid, it blew the rim out of the tire and almost took his head off.

  • @TheMudder90 use too much?

  • why did I watch this...actually my main question to myself should be "why did I jump" :O

  • It's Ether

  • Comment removed

  • cool, would that be carb cleaner?

  • That is a two peice 16.5 beadlock with no safty bead... so if you had the run flat in place like you are suposed to, there would be no reason to use either to "seat" the bead. It would only be a matter of bolting the two rim halfs together and adding some air.

  • haha damn!

  • This is actually pretty common. I helped my uncle do this to replace some tires on his race car. You spray some ether in the rim and light it to make it expand and seal on the rim.

  • It works but it is really dangerous and not my first choice of methods

  • @willvb13 Your making gay ass jokes and a whole bunch of other faggots with no lives liked your comment.. thats what happened. You guys are funny as hell getting all pissed off at people like "well my comment is rated the highest on youtube bitch" LMAO! Get a fucking life and some friends you fucking nerd! haha

  • WTF

  • @alex054739 if soviet Russia jokes fail. Then why is it the top comment? You fail dirtbag.

  • it works pretty good but i'm always on my feet when i do this and jump everytime , you never know when those couple more inches away and your faced turned willl pay off

  • starting fluid it works good for putting on tires on side on interstate when towing

  • That is ingenious :D

  • Ether is the best way to seat any tire on a rim(personal opinion). Ether mounting is also not OSHA aprroved. Ether mounting is also extremely dangerous and may prove to be fatal. But. You can seat a tractor tire and burn your entire front lawn all at the same time. Tractor tire fixed...check. Grass cut. Check

  • can somebody tell me how this works to seat the tire?

  • @bergaflickal Its usually eather ( really flamible) sprayed into the tire, when ignited it expands very rapidly pressing the bead of the tire into the seat on the rim.

  • We have LIFT OFF!

  • yea lets leave the gas can right next to it !!

  • Mounting/balancing a tire is no joke, if not done correctly it can cause serious injury or death.

  • @OneGuitarGuy No kidding. It's tricky and the method shown above is not the reccomended way.

  • this is dangerous

    don't try this at home

    people died for being stupid

  • geuse you guys dont have blasters in germany lol must like the smell of burning facial hare in the morning

  • GERMAN REDNECKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GREEAT SUCCESS!

  • HAHAHA That is so sick!!!!

  • Starting fluid works the best. Also if u can afford it a "cheetah"

  • i thought germans werent scared of anything.. lol oh wait thats russians

  • hes not being a idiot ......thats pretty much the only way u can set the bead on a mud tire at ur house....god knows how he got the thing on there

  • So does your country not have tire mounting machines or were you just being a cheap ass?

  • he's missing the runflat, thats why he's having to use ether.

  • 2 words friends: Ratchet Strap!!!

  • HUMMER Tire blowup

I HAVE READ A LOT OF IGNORANT COMMENTS ON VIDEOS BEFORE - BUT THIS ONE TAKES THE ENTIRE BAKERY! HE IS 'BEADING THE TIRE HERE YOU MORONS - HE DOESN'T HAVE A TIRE MACHINE TO DO IT FOR HIM - SO THIS IS THE WAY TO DO IT! DAMN FOLKS, GROW UP!

  • thats how you ether a tire do that with big rig tuck tires

  • That's one way to get around buying an inner tube.

  • @MrBigYum tubeless?

  • @MrBigYum Who the hell still uses inner tubes? Hummers have inserts called run-flats that dont allow the rim to touch the ground but that is it. Tires have been tubeless for a while now.

  • @Sp33dyD3m0n My name is MrBigYum. And I am definitely, Definitely NOT smarter than a fifth-grader.

  • @MrBigYum No problem, yeah off-road tires normally have some type of inner portion, but Hummers have never had an inner tube nor do any cars come with them these days.... and hasn't for nearly a decade.

  • you captured a guitar hero note!

  • it made an wave i watched it in even-slower-motion (FOR DUMMIES HOLD SPACE)

  • you know you just need a little bit of ether to create a fume right?

  • We are Germans!

  • @STUDENTDRIVER123 BUM BA DUM BUM BUM BUM

  • Typisch Nederlands:P

  • do work

  • Cheater. On the other hand, it may be cheaper to use than an air compressor. just sayin'...

  • in soviet russia we make rocket out of tire

  • @willvb13 but ur not russian

  • @willvb13 hahahaha...that was good..... love nasha rasha

  • @willvb13 I am petty sure you haven't Russian missiles. Soviet Russia jokes fail, because they are not funny, and stupid.

  • Im Pretty Sure Youu Don't Need To Light a Tire On Fire To Change The Rim Or Whatever, Do Youu? Idkayy Im Curious Cuz iNever Seen That Done Before.

  • Its safer to hold the can in your hand while lighting, not next to the tire.lol. Just kidding , get that can as far as you can away from that tire you dont want to have the can blow up in your face.

  • Slow mo was awesome!

  • SWEET

  • a bit bored aren't we?

  • It works in a pinch....'nough said. Ratchet straps don't always work

  • a ratchet strap would have easily gotten that on that wheel

  • FREE AIR ANYONE

  • why do people RUSH to fill with air after it seats.. you know how fucking hard it is to break down a bead of a tire? I know this from experience as I work at a tire shop and yes i've used this method before and it works plenty haha.

  • @Stingray7667 Because they then watch the tire shrink and think that the newly formed bead is not of the same quality as an old one. Either inexperience or habit.

  • lol kool jump bomb army's hummer tire!!!!!

  • wow, I've done this method many times, but it was cool to see what it looks like in slowmo. Thanks for sharing

  • i do this all the time cuz i live 30 miles from a tire shop

  • Don't do this. Extremely dangerous.

  • @studpuppy69 Its the only way you can mount some tires. It is only dangerous if you make it dangerous.

  • @phin3s

That is not the only way, there is equipment that can do it without fire.

  • @markstalman Yeah, I love that little tank with 150psi in it...we were launching a guys lunch (hot dogs) with the bead seater...hahaha...it was a hoot

  • nice one !

  • THE TIRE DID NOT BLOW UP CHANGE TITLE YOU FAG

  • @realweezl He is "blowing it up"... think about it, you "blow up a balloon" with your mouth. Saying "air up this balloon" doesn't sound right to me, but "blow up the balloon" sounds right. Just my 4 half-pennies.

  • i'm about to mount tires like that :D

  • I think I have seen this before..If I'm not wrong, that is exactly supposed to happen...when you're installing the rubber tire to the rim. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • that guy is a major league pussy/

  • That looked pretty sick.!!

  • ihr seid solche freaks des gibts gar nicht

  • thumbs up if you had no idea you will see a video like this.

  • is he having the air blown in the tire at the same time or does that not matter when blowing it up? there are some low profile tires that we cannot blow up because of our machines, but if we do it this way, we might be able to blow them up...any suggestions?

  • @yoshi5522 FART IN IT AND HAVE SOME ONE LIGHT IT UP

IF IT DOES NOT WORK TAKE A SHIT IN IT AND LIGHT IT UP THAT SHOULD WORK

  • @yoshi5522 i had a simular problem...instead of using ether.....i put a ratchet strap around the tread of the tire and compressed it so it pushed the sidewalls outwards....remember to remove strap while airing up the tire

  • @oilfield666 that's how i mount tires, alot safer.

  • @yoshi5522 get a bead blaster, it blows up to 120psi of air into a tire and its alot safer then using a flammable liquid cause you can adjust how many psi is getting blown in. oh and the air is getting blown in at the same time cause if you dont the beads will just fall off again

  • @yoshi5522 I do not think that this is a manufacturer approved method. You would want to consult somebody before doing this in a business outside of Kentucky or *insert state puported to be largely largely populated by rednecks*

  • Idiot?

  • we have lift off!.

  • I like that he doesn't move the can of ether - that's what I call keeping it real ; p

  • we have an unidentified flying tire

  • theres no need for that much ether.. hah

  • The slow motion was cooler then hell! 0:48

  • The slow motion was cooler then hell!

  • How many ply are these tires..

  • nen hummer hat auch nich jeder zuhause xD wie viel kostet son teil

  • ROFL that bad boy got air!

  • DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND ÜBER ALS!

  • i saw this b4 on top gear

  • Hey jaw1987cchs he does mean cage not gauge. If you don't know the difference you shouldn't comment other than to show your apparent lack of knowledge.

  • look how unstable his hummer is blocked

  • Becarefull!!

  • hes got a deathwish

  • hes got a deathwish

  • hes got a deathwish

  • That second one was HILARIOUS :D

  • This idot needs a tire cage

  • @admmaddog1

    a tire cage?

    you mean gauge? lol

he has one, its on the top of the hose lol...

  • @admmaddog1 What will that do? Tire changers don't blast air in fast enough to seat the beads on heavy duty tires. They're too stiff. I take the valve core out, use safety glasses, sparing amount of starter fluid (less than the video shows!), and a grill lighter. Pop, its on. VS hours of getting no where. Your choice.

  • @admmaddog1 Done right, works well ini a pinch, I'm sure.

  • @admmaddog1 why this worked so much faster and cost much less hahahahaha???

  • @ElPajaroMexicano professionals use this method to stretch tires and use a tire cage so they don't blow their face off incase the tire decides to explode. that's why.. & btw it's a HARD method to come across, Hard to do the right way & costs much much more than what's used now.

  • pussy

  • nicely done! LOL at all of the city idiots that have no idea that this is how you reseat a tire after breaking a bead. Oops... maybe that lingo isn't on a Starbuck's menu so they won't have any idea what I'm talking about. LOL, city idiots.

  • you shouldnt have to do this if you have your inserts in. and if you do have the inserts in and you still have to do this then they are bad and you need new ones.

  • what inserts are you talking about? hmmmv tires dont have inserts.

  • ummm...yes they do. they are also known as runflats. it seats the bead against the wheel and acts as a beadlock. it also lets the wheel roll when it goes flat so while in war they can get out or harms way. so really you dont know what YOU are talking about.

  • and whats your experience with hmmmv tires? cause in my experience ive never seen inserts in them you must have special ones that us common soldiers never get to use.

  • we buy these wheel and tire combos surplus from the military and then sell them for use on off road vehicles, farm implements, construction equipment etc. and everyone we break open either has a magnesium runflat or a rubber runflat. never gotten one without em. also the original poster of this video has another video of himself trying to install a rubber runflat into the tire.

  • my bad was a little confused for a bit i was thinking of something else but either way how else are you suppose to seat the tire? the run flat insert wont seat a tire. i was thinking inserts as in like your standard tube and it still didnt click when you said run flats till now.

  • is he breaking the bead?

  • he is seting it. breaking it would be taking it off the rim. the bead is the ring of the tire that seals against the outer lip of the rim

  • On your feet soldier!!! Nothin' like getting into a dangerous situation and your off your feet! Hell, you can't run away or anything!

  • works a whole lot better if you spray ether in the tire than line on side wall, light the side wall, travels into tire with out blowing up like that!!! than kick the tire and boom. done!!

  • not the safest way but it works and when your on a job site and need to get your dump trailer tire back on the beed a .50 match book and can of either is faster and cheeper than a service call. think smart and its a great little trick for those road side repairs.

  • Say what you want but it works. You blow a bead on a 42" or bigger tire on the trail. Jack it up and leave it on the truck. Little Ether little air and your back on your way.

  • ....and something I learned about 40 years ago is to ALWAYS chain split rim truck tires when inflating/changing tires....they tend to explode and can kill you.

  • ive seen on video's split rims going through brick walls

  • @abot19 where?

  • Its a great field trick, but I prefer to use a ratchet strap around the tire before resorting to the fireworks

  • I've been busting tires of all kinds professionally for seventeen years and I've never had to resort to using ether. Trust me, there's not a safe way.

  • yea just use a beed blaster

  • really i never hurd of this way at all though lol thats funny

  • hhh vet cool

  • if you have the bed locks in place also you should be able to inflate with no problem. but without them is pain in the ass to inflate

  • nice way to do it!

  • its not that unsafe. Ive done it loads of times. its just a simple physics. the burning lighter fluid draws air into the tyre to fuel the flame until the tyre pops on to the rim. Then the flame goes out due to the sudden air dept.

Fookin health and safety freaks piss me off! Get a life!

I have common sense, thats why i havent been burned!

  • Thats an Icelandic trick i belive, spraying lighter fluid into a tire and then lighting it. Only they use a different type of lighter fluid so its safer when they do it.

  • Its Ether....... and OHS bans us from using that stuff, when were out in the bush well use it. but its nasty stuff, i know LOTS of people who have been burned thinking they knew how to do it safely

  • People do it on all types of vehicles- not just icelandic or artic trucks.

  • Thats what you're spose to do.

  • theres murphy grease, blaster, straps

  • thats stupid....... there is ten million safer ways to inflate an LT tire,

the only time i have ever used ether is on OTR tires, like skidders and one peice grators

  • You're stupid.

  • i do the same thing 4 all my 4 wheeler tiers i love it lol nice hummer by the way

  • nice explosion!

  • And you're to lazy to check my other videos especially the one that shows how I install the runflat. Go back to school boy before you try to tell me anything about the H1 or even the HMMWV!

  • @STUDENTDRIVER123 i dont know what the fuck you are talking about but that was cool

  • @STUDENTDRIVER123 ya rachet strap is the oldest trick in the book yawn. any one thats been in the the regular army more than 4 months knows that

  • sickest way to infalte a tire... we do that at our shop when its winter and the wide side walls dont want to seat,....once it exploded and mounted. and then exploded again and dismounted.... scary...

  • Cool1

  • um.... what did he do, remove the inserts? the double bead lock does not require you to do this because the bead is pinched on both sides.

  • hey a good hummer!!!!!!cool video.

  • l.o.l. "hot wheels"

  • umm your supposed to do that with the shrader valve out

  • my father does like this when he changes the tires on his truck

  • fucking talent subed rated 5

  • that was sikkk

  • BO
