HMC Plance, Thanks for the awesome video. I saw a lot of my BLT in your video to include a photo of myself. This us the first time I've seen it. Thank you for showing the world what it means for us to be with our brother and sisters in battle. May God Bless you and keep you.
The photos that you have are when I was with BLT 2/1 The Professionals. 15th MEU. Congrats on retirement, and trust me I get it. I was medically retired at 17 years. I miss it every day.

anxiety is killing me!!! can't wait. ship date: 20091112!! going for FMF. the recruiters were pushing me to go for SEALS for which i am more than qualfied for but my heart is with the Marines. although i never know maybe I might try out for BUD/s later in my career.
Beautifully done. The Celtic music was a great touch too. To ALL Corpsmen, you are heroes - every one, every day. Thanks to all the docs and devil docs.
This video just makes my resolve to be an FMF Corpsman that much greater. Ship out to RTC 20091222. Wish me luck, and if you have any advice id apreciate it
Advice? 1. RTC: Pay attention to detail and don't take anything personally - it's their job to bust your ass. 2. Corpsman A School: Be mindful what you do in your off time. Note: While in A school make sure you get a guaranteed C school as soon as possible. Start doing your research now! 3. In the Navy, alcohol and substance abuse are the most popular reasons for getting into trouble, followed by fraternization, so if it applies, consider quitting drinking and not dating your fellow shipmates.
As a fomer Marine, I would like to thank EVERY Corpsman who trained along side me, worked along side me, fought along side me, and was my brother. Mess with one Marine, you mess with EVERY Marine. Mess with our Corpsmen, you mess with the Corps. Semper Fi, Docs
Hey I'm a paramedic and I'm wanting to be a FMF Corpsman. I don't know anyone who's done it and I was wondering if there was anyone who could tell me how to do it right, where I wouldn't get screwed over.
Well the marines always need a Doc and requesting to go FMF is what recruiters are looking for. It is almost impossible not to get it. Just tell your navy recruiter and he should be happy to set you up.
I rolled with the 1st Mar Div, 2/5 WPNS Co, CAAT-1 during OIF-1... turned in my 9-mil for an M-16. Corpsman by trade, Marine by choice, but forever dedicated to the Hospital Corps!!! err!
corps man another name for marines best friend i joind and wanted the job corpsman i cant wait to make my grand dad proud hes a retired marine and i used to be the fuck up of our famaly
My son is at camp pendleton. He's in the last of the training, fmfs, i believe. He's also a navy coreman. Seeing these pictures makes me even more proud of what he is training to be. I'm also very proud of all you out there fighting for us. I wish I could hug every one of you! Since I can't, I'll just tell you I will pray for all of you. For your safety, for strength and endurance, and I pray God will bless you all for your unselfish bravery!
Your not alone my grandpa served back as a marine they said he was a real hardass but when i told him this is what i would be doing its the first time he actualy talked to me about his time in the corp.
Bravo Zulu! I'm very proud to be one of the elite medical personnel "The Hospital Corpsman" in short "Doc" Be careful all you Docs out there. God bless us all!
being part of the most decorated enlisted corps in the Navy is definitely something to be proud of. Awesome video. I'm currently waiting to ship to RTC Great Lakes on March 11th, 2008; I am going to be a Corpsman and I will volunteer for FMF. My father served as a corpsman, and I am proud to have the chance to do the same. I'd like to talk with fellow DEPpers with similar ship dates!
Nice presentation. Brings back some memories. I was a FMF Corpsman for 12 yrs. - 77 to 91 (broken service). Not an easy life but hell, you get to meet some interesting people.
Sorry, but HM's do not go through Marine Corps basic training. TO become a FMF 8404 HM, the route is boot camp (Navy), HM A school, and then Field Medical Service School. FMSS teaches what you need to know to be with the Marines.
i got out of the navy in 99. but i beleve u stiil have 2 serve with the marines for at least 1 year, and pass a exam, i was marine corps regs, so i wore all their uniforms except their dress blues.and i had to take there pft physical fitness test,i dont believe that is a requirement to become fmf qualified,, ken aka hm3(fmf)93-99 semper fi, devil doc 4ever baby
oh and the GC thing about corpsman carrying weapons; thats a joke i had a SAW, a shotgun and an M4 at different times. The SAW is a 200 round per minute machine gun, and i wasn't about to tell them i cant carry that cause of some bullshit on a piece of paper somewhere in a nice clean office in washington, lol. silly paper pushers...
let me be real honest here, hospital corps school is the easiest part of anything you will do, if and when you go green... there is nothing easy, fun, or enjoyable about watching your own die. i did 2 tours one was during the time line of this video, i watched a lot of young men loose their lives, i was fortunate enough to come home. Becoming a corpsman is not an easy task but it is easy compared to some of things you will have to do as one.
Nicholas Allen Randol swears in today for his chosen field, US NAVY Hospital Corpsman. He will be leaving for basic training March 13, 2008. He is the second of my two sons to join the NAVY. Kirby Francis Marshall is currently training in FL., EOD
i am a mother of a female corpsman.she is about to be sent to her 1st duty station.i am so proud of her.you all are very brave and admirable.God bless you and keep you safe allways
i will soon be a hostipal corpsman if all goes good. i ship out sept 3 08 sense im still in high skewl. i cant wait to ship and start learning. i would love to be out there making a differnce and helping out
im an enlisted corpman, i ship out october 10th and i dont quite know what is in store for me but like vivaelaaron--- i can't wait to do my part in bringing these boys home in one piece, well see how much of a difference a 20 year old can make!!!!!
Shipmate, Keep that positive attitude! Your Marines will need it!! Don't discount your abilities, you will do fine. Be safe. - HMC(FMF/SW/SCW) FMFIDC91
In regards to Corpsmen carrying weapons, the Geneva Convention speaks to the employment of the weapon, not the type. Soon the T/O weapon for HM's serving w/ the FMF will be the M-16 (M4).
Great video. It made me tear up a bit and made me feel extremely proud. I signed on with the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman not too long ago, and I can't wait to serve.
two thumbs up! saving lives is not spectacular bcoz were required to act, rather, our BRAVERY as a corpsman is EXCEPTIONAL bcoz its not required, but given FREELY and WILLINGLY in service to our marines, our country, and fellow humanity, ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY!,....HM3 RMR
AMAZING! Being that I am in a few of the pictures the very last being one of them, I found it well put together.3/4 Kilo Weps OIF1! Thanks for reminding me of those great guys I served with!
i enlisted myself too as a HM. Ill be shipping out next week for bootcamp. for me, the best way to serve this country is to save the lives of heroes defending it.
all my life i wanted to be a soldier, all my life i wanted to fight for my frredom and my country, and this movie make me want to be it even more, im 16 years old and when i become a soldier i will be honered to fight alongside you guys.
-Kasper sieker
i have the upmost respect for you guys, there isn't anyone with so much bravery and courage like you guys, keep it up down there :)
not true you dont have to take that NEC (MOS), and also there are pharm tech billets w/ the FMF. Remember, you will be a Sailor first, a Corspman second, and a Pharm Tech third. Your responsibilities are in that order.
What a fantastic video! It had me crying like a baby. God, I miss being a "Doc". I had the honor and priviledge to carry that 8404 tatoo for 14 years and served with the finest. Now, my daughter married a Marine. He's in Iraq, and I wish I could have gone with him. Semper Fi!
Army flight nurse here but married a Navy Corpsman.....god I love him and he is going to Iraq this fall. You guys do a great job and I have the upmost respect for you. HOOAAH AND HOORAAH!!!
To all Devil Docs; Thank God for each and every one of you; My Brother is home and alive because of a Corpsman like you, and as he put it, "When the firing starts and all the Marines hit the deck, the Corpsmen are the first to stand up and run to the fallen in a hail of fire". God bless, stay safe, and come home.
Motivating, I'll always miss being a 8404. Served two tours in Iraq. There's no better job on this planet than that of a Navy Corpsman, not just any Corpsman, but that who has the honor of serving with the United States Marine Corps. SEMPER FI! "Born to kill, trained to heal"

Powerful video using the music from the Braveheart movie.
A reminder to go to many of the Troop Support sites to send Support to Our Deployed Military.

I want to be a FMF Corpsman, but as soon as they see that i am a certified Pharm Tech they will give me a shore duty so fast i will have wip lash

Blue112488 4 years ago
not true you dont have to take that NEC (MOS), and also there are pharm tech billets w/ the FMF.

Semper Fi!
