they 've played just some notes in distinctiv order not music. there is no spirit in their playing. thus they've not understand this music, cause understanding of music is interpretation. and appropriate interpretation are constituted by innovation and authenticity. it seems to be that've tried to copy a stereotypic kind of established interpretations (e.g. oistrakh, stern). and this way of copying will be nothing but a necessary condition for an obviously wretched attempt.

Music is music and Bach is always Bach. But what do they show us ? very sexy attractive persons, in love perhaps; This is Bach s' music, but I'm not sure that this is the spirit of Bach and that's what I find not appropriate. Whatever it is, they are beautiful and good musicians

This performance wasn't good. Why is Xenia playing 1st violin? Xenia's tone production is far more superior. This is pathetic; he sounds like a little mouse. Where are the dynamics? The crescendos? Diminuendos? It was bland the whole way through. Looks like David got lost in one of the passages.

I have watched several of their videos and they are both very good violinist, blessed in multiple ways-so very fortunate. I have to say the ego thing does come across a little strong and makes me look back on some things in my own life and past and times when I wish I had "toned" it down just a little--realizing that most things like how we look, our intelligence, our talent are simply luck of the gene pool--but the sort of person we are inside is of our own construction.

I agree. These parts are relatively simple.A chimp could turn themout with a good organ grinder. But the question is, can you play both parts while chewing your nuts with the level of technique they do? It's one thing to play the notes correctly and in time, it's something else entirely to play without dropping a single nut! And it's not a stradivari or a Guadagnini its an orangotang.

The violin parts alone may not be top notch virtuosic technique, but composing a peace like this with all the harmony and a nice melody and making it all work is the hard part.

I see what people mean, he is has a big ego. I understand if he is good at his instrument, but there are many out there who are as good or better than him. Yet, he is allowed to act like a rock star, maybe he will calm down and realize that music isn't about ego and self, it comes from a higher place.
