@bienbonbon It depends on the signal output of the hydrophones. With a different R1/R2 ratio you can change the amplification.

Nice work, just wondering, wouldnt it be better to find out where the microphone amplifier ends and try to interrupt it there? Because it seems like you're lowering the signal to mic level only to amp it up again and i love the quality of the H2 but its not the best.

Hey I am a tad confused. It appears that you have put the switches in to turn on and off the left and right sides. Couldn't it be wired to interrupt the front and/or back pair of mics? That way, if you set the unit to 4 channel surround you could get a true stereo on board mic recording at the same time as a, say board line level signal. Is that silly?

No that isn't silly. You got all the freedom once the H2 is open to make the microphone/line combination that is working for you. It's even possible to make 4 switches for every channel one. You can even take it further to make a 3 input switch per channel. 1 internal mic.,1 external mic and 1 line input.

Nice mod, I found it incredibly foolish that they have a 4 track recorder that can do 4 tracks of mic recording but the mic and line inputs can't be used simultaneously for 4 track recording
