I Have a stash of azimuth pistons from when they were in stock. Send me a message if You wanna buy. I have single steel tooth and full steel tooth pistons
the fact that it bends like that doesnt mean anything its just the material its made out of. a system super core piston would crack also if you took a hammer to it. so would pretty much any other piston. that reqally doesnt mean anything its jut the material it was made with
One thing I do notice about the piston, while the entire piston may be flexible and unbreakable. I noticed a tooth that is dented, yes I know that is vertical force... it could be very bad if even the teeth can be warped under this circumstance... The teeth can be stripped easily still because there isn't enough plastic for it to flex. Great Piston for High Speed Setups.... but I wouldn't EVER use it for High Torque Setups.
I use the Full Metal Azimuth piston in my high speed m4 with riotsc gears, but those are CNC machined, and thus the best gears on the market. Its much better than the polycarb version.
This proves that you can squeeze the piston and hit it with a hammer. The real test comes when there is friction running against the teeth of the piston.
When you are running an AEG I don't see hammers and vice's squeezing against the piston. I see gears spinning fast shredding the last three teeth or tearing off the pick up tooth because the angle of engagement is wrong.
Yea. I don't care your opinions. If this piston can retain it's original shape after being put in a VICE GRIP I think it can take the vertical pressure of the sector gear pushing down on the catch tooth because the AoE is wrong. As far as it shredding the teeth, it doesn't matter how high the rof is when it comes to the last few teeth. It's early engagement that's the problem there. And no matter what kind of piston you have, if you have early engagement you're stripping the piston.
Lastly. You may have something to worry about with a high fps setup because that's simply not what this piston is designed for. Soft pliable pistons are made for high rof setups, because they can withstand the vibrations and flexing of constant high cycle rates. High fps pistons are much more solid and can take the high stress of a high fps setup.
So you saying you don't see an AEG with a hammer is the most incompetent thing I've heard in recent memory. This video was made to show tolerances.
I think you have the wrong Idea please show us a true test in a real world application... If the video is made to show us tolerances that is great but we don't use pistons in that fashion rather we use the piston to create pressure to project a air soft BB, by way of a rotating sector gear.
This show's the impact the piston can take from squeezing the piston from the side. This is great by any means. In your airsoft gun the teeth take the punishment not the side of the piston. In all my time in airsoft the teeth always shred or take the damage, but I have never had my piston split from the side.
Stop trying to sound intelligent. Because you're failing. You quite obviously don't know what you're talking about. You want a real world test? Fine. Go to wgcshop and buy this exact piston for 8$. Then you can tell us all how you stripped this piston because you tried to run it stock with an m90 and an 11.1lipo.
I will pick one up from wgcshop and I will see. My setup is a Lip 7.4, M85, GandP M120, Mosfet, and Sorbo pads for correction of AOE. Maybe you will make a believer out of me.
Btw. I have had a piston split in half from the side, and I've ripped the entire catch tooth off before. So please. THINK BEFORE YOU POST. Jesus Christ. This video is, again, to show tolerances. If it can withstand the force of a fuckin' vice grip and hammer it'll most probably take the lateral force of the sector gear JUST FINE. Now stfu and go back to grammer school. And don't bother replying to this because unless you say something RIDICULOUSLY pathetic or stupid I won't bother replying.
Hey did not mean to get you upset... Well what I will do is try it my self and do my own test. I have the AOE set perfectly with sorbo pads to correct the AOE. I will post my own results. Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, this doesn't show how it will hold up in an AEG because a piston will likely only break at the teeth if its installed correctly. I assume, however, the teeth are as strong as the rest of it?
Have you found a piston that can take ROF? I think the material is strong to take direct hits but it is different when it comes to taking on a sector gear.
But..... WILL IT BLEND?!

Pistons take different stresses though...
They don't take hammer attacks to the body... they take Gear teeth attacks to the teeth :D
I'd like to see the stress test on the teeth (in regards to teeth on teeth action
SjKimber 6 months ago
Sure the actual test would be to take a chisel to the teeth and see how they hold up?

How the hell can it have this many views but only like 19-20 "likes'????
GrayArcAirsoft 8 months ago
softer pistons are better cause they wont crack so easily.

I'm selling some on ebay type in 'nylon fibre piston' into ebay its the picture of the blue one!!

@martinairsoft123 And if it's made from a better material then the piston will stand up to more abuse, dipshit.

what kind of piston was the white one>??
martinairsoft123 1 year ago
Well I broke down and purchased two pistons, since my KWA piston is almost ready to go. I will do a review so I will keep you posted.
large74 2 years ago
@large74 I don't believe you about the KWA piston, unless you've tortured it.

ive dont that to my supercore and it survived
Heheh274 2 years ago
Is this the same piston as the airsoft gi azimuth?
nathanwilkening 2 years ago
yup
Heheh274 2 years ago
@nathanwilkening That is the one and only azimuth.
doriftokonig 1 year ago
HEY!
I did the same test with a element piston and twice as big hammer, and it survived it just fine !
Check it out!

I think what your seeing is the secon to last tooth witch is perpouslly shaved off to reduce stress on the gearbox
motocrossgunner 2 years ago
I'm looking at the 4th tooth, 3rd from the Metal Tooth. It has become dented. You can see at :45 that the 4th tooth is dented inwards.
Other than that I think this piston is really awesome.
Stickyittoyou 2 years ago
oh I see, but what did you expect after it was pounded with a hammer?

the greatest piston i've seen so far!!!!
looks like it's made of fiberglass or something. can definitetly take a beating and then some!!
jserna23 2 years ago
they also make a version with full metal teeth
skag187 2 years ago
he did afterall hit it in the teeth with the hammer and nothing happened, looks like a solid choice, possibly even for a torque setup.

This dose not prove anything. Are you going to do a test with the teeth like grinding it against a table?
large74 2 years ago
1: *does
2: How does this not prove anything? He hit it with a hammer. AND PUT IT IN A VICE GRIP! That's impressive to me.
