Laptops.? Passwords are stored inside an eeprom chip and it retains it's memory for a long time even when the power is removed.
I looked around on the net and did find some software that Dell uses to change the password in their laptops, it rewrites the info stored inside that chip.
i took it out for a min or so and when i turned it on it still asked me for the pass..what would happen if u took out the c mos batt and left it out??
Hey bud, well Iv worked with many dells and most of the time the c mos battery is under the laptop...I'm not positive though... You could just check on Google or call dell... It will take about 5 mints...Thanks!
That is f...... Stupid I trid and noting

So, if I just remove it and put it back, the time will be remembered when it goes back in, right?

you have to take it out and leave it out for about 5 min.
make sure you're power supply is int getting any electricity from the outlet...
If you take it out and leave it out then you're date and time will be sacrificed.
