Here is the EASY FIX. Get a copy of AVS Video Remaker. Connect your SDR-H40p to your computer (I'm running windows 7), then select the video file using AVS Video Remaker. After the file is loaded then save it, and Video Remaker will save it an mpg2 format. Then if you have the AVS Video Converter progarm you can convert it to any format that you want and edit it in any video program that you have.
how do i upload the videos from my camcorder to my laptop? am having a hard time doing it. it says to plug it in to the charger and i dont have the origal charger for it? any help would be appreciated
I elect to record to the SD card. When I'm ready to move the movie to a computer, I move the SD card to a card reader on the computer and copy the necessary file(s).
is this supposed to help you out with having your videos from your panasonic camcorder be a avi file cus the format my vids are under are like mod and adobe premeier wont except that
The software that comes bundled with this camera sucks. ALL reviews confirm this.
The software demonstrated is "MediaCoder". It is open source which means it is free and malware free.
The only issue with MediaCoder is the vast amount of settings. This is what I'm documenting here. What you are viewing above produced an AVI file which I uploaded. It is also WinAmp and Windows Media Player compatible.

Great video, helped so damn much! The software this camera comes with makes you want to kill yourself it is that bad.

Taking a guess, the .mod format that the adobe product imports is similar to a MIDI file format; obviously not a video format.
The purpose of this demo is to show people a free way to re format the video files from this particular camcorder.
