  • FUCK, KEEP STILL

    COKED UP??

  • @talbot02 ...... lol and ditto

  • @talbot02 He's just emoting, yo. The man himself would've done the same thing.

  • Im sure that guitar is out of tune.

Its Drop D but it does not sound right,

    Great voice tho!!!

  • I am extremely picky when it comes to Jeff's songs and people covering his songs and I must say this was an extremely well done performance. The vocals are BRILLIANT.

  • He really needs to stop moving so fucking much. You can show your emotions in a less distracting way.

  • gorgeous cover!

  • I think it was great, both the voice and guitar. Now i mainly is interested in the voice. I try to make my own voice of Jeff, and it's like, i can make it, but it is really loud before i can get the sound... well, i liked the vocal here :)

  • Damn! No long scream at the end! Why can noone do that? At the beginning of the video, I thought, YES someone with a good enough voice to pull it off... But again... Dissapointment :P Very good cover though. Are there any links so that I can see more?

  • Very Impressive. Well done

  • "nail this cover of Jeff Buckley's, "Grace". " c'mon.

  • the best cover of grace....congratulation!!!

  • This actually might be my favorite cover. I think it goes without saying that no one compares to Jeff, but these guys clearly know that already. This is a beautiful flare at this song.

    -Michael ( The Upside )

  • I have no idea why the people bitching about this dislike it so much. I like this cover because they didn't try so fucking hard to sound like Jeff Buckley, They made some minor adjustments and made it there own. THAT is what a cover is. Jeff Buckley did 2 covers (to my knowledge) of music and made it his own. Is it really such a crime that these guys do the same?

  • He had three just on Grace. And I agree. It's praise of the highest kind to want to remake someone else's music. Jeff knew that, or he wouldn't have done so many. His live shows were usually half covers.

  • Oh yeah that's right. Thanks for reminding me. I forgot about "Corpus Christi Carol".

  • This is a very impressive cover... I usually really dislike when people try to cover Jeff Buckley, but these guys do a really good job.

  • 3:22 wtf?

  • Not bad, but too emo for my liking, and what the hell is the singer doing flapping around?

  • emo? ¬¬

  • No. Musicians! O'_'o

  • best attempt ive seen so far. Sadly nowhere near jeffs though

  • there's a french dude that does the ebst one. don't remember the name tho!

  • For those complaining about the guitar. It's in dropped D tuning, so is the original version. It can sound a bit odd if you aren't used to it. It is not out of tune at all though.

  • what is the singer doing :P

  • shit cover , shit guitar , shit voice , shit poseurs.

  • You're either an elitist or an idiot. Either way you're still a prick too.

  • you're still a poseur. and face it , the cinematics are very shitty.

  • the cinematics are awesome!!! ¬¬

  • no they're not . You may think that cause they look "trendy" but they're hardly anything exceptional by any meaning .

they didn't even do the whole song. ¬¬

  • i dont like them because they are "trendy" i like them because i like their music... and scott rinning is veeeery handsome!

  • Great voice.

    Great cover.

No one compares to Jeff though. (:

  • best cover ever for me......congratulation!

  • its a very hard song to cover, and its pointless in comparing them to Jeff - Jeff is a genius :) very nice though :)

  • I think you have a great comment. There's no offense in telling someone they're very good or even great and knowing at the same time that they don't handle to Jeff Buckley. He was one in many million.

  • strictly no...

  • Just 4 stars?? This is a 5!!

  • MUCH PROPS due to them for this cover... honestly ever since i heard of Jeff Buckley which has been almost 6 years only... no one has ever done a good cover at least vocally.

  • That was quite well done....really! But now go back and listen to any of the versions by Jeff :-) That's real.........!

  • Take a look at Irish singer - James O'Toole, performing Grace in Paris

  • never ever

  • somebody better tune his guitar

  • the funny thing is when I sing this song the words and melody and emotion MAKE me move around. its really uncontrolable when a piece of music is as great as Grace.

  • brilliant!!!good cover...

  • This is a beautiful cover but the vocalist's moving about got extremely annoying. He looked like he needed to be up and about moving to express himself, so maybe if he stood up it wouldn't have been so distracting.

  • bien joué!!

  • It seems like the singer didn't try the final amazing(bestyellihaveeverheard)voice part of the Buckley's Song because of the fear it had to cause him.

Why did he move that way?

    Was he pissing or something?

  • Can noone see how absolutely incredibly this has been sung??? The singing is not 'emo', for me the singing captures the very essence of Buckley's tortured genius.

  • And i really like the singers voice too, i thought it was a good vocal performance. I don't think Jeff would be offended at all.

  • I would stop comparing him to Jeff because no-one can replace Jeff, so why not be thankful that Jeff obviously influenced people enough that they want to cover his songs?

  • never heard this band before - the singer does brilliantly. Now gotta go looking for more from them:)

  • lol, yeah 3:35ish. Good idea not to try that last note.

    /watch?v=siNsgbIWhAQ& - 4:38.

    3/5.

Really chopped up the structure of the song.

Cool to be into the music (visually), I think you take it a little too far.

Pretty good voice man. Keep it up.

Its suicide to cover a JB song. But nonetheless, you held up vocally.

Good job though. Want to hear some more, but don't do acoustic.

  • I doubt he'd be offended, this isnt comparable to Buckley's, but they did a good job :D

  • Why attempt to do a cover when its this bad.

    Buckley would be affended

  • hahahahhahahah same panic at the disco , pure bullshit -__-" , es un insulto a jeff

  • Huh. This is one of the better covers of grace. great job!

  • the singer sang the song like what many people would call whiney "emo" vocal style. i've seen much better cover of grace than this... even on youtube.

well... i must give the band credit in attempting such a difficult song.

  • Although Ramsey is no longer in the band, they are working on a new album w/a new guitarist. Scott is probably the only singer in the World, that could attempt to sing this getting anywhere near Jeff's own performance.

Would have loved to have been there and this. Had to be a fabulous moment for Scott, the band and most of all the audience (including Jeff's Mum)!

The Cinematics, are coming back!!! :D

  • your forgetting matthew bellamy...

  • Fantastic cover guys. Good job.

  • I think that the arm flailing is necessary because it is sooo damn hard to get those notes out, to come anyway near to the greatness of jeff buckley, it does just reaffirm how fantastic a singer jb really was, and effortless too, unfortunately not everyone appreciates that fact, I'm sure that this singer does, so good job and fair do's

  • This is a really good cover, I like it.

  • they are not emo's dumbass...no one will ever be as good as Buckley but this is a good cover. u think you could do better?

  • Gorgeous!

  • The singer should've gone to the bathroom before he sat down to sing ;)

  • I actually love this. Im pretty harsh on most Buckley covers but I love how the singer literally puts his WHOLE self into the song. He's definetly feeling it and is in the moment. And his vocals arent too shabby, because lets admit it, there will never be another Jeff Buckley.

  • Stop being unfair !!!!!! I love Jeff & they really tried to do him justice!!! they covered him because they love him as well! and Grace is really very hard to sing BTW.

  • singer exagerates and he doesn't do jeff much justice,sry..

  • Nobody will ever be as good as Jeff Buckley, thats why he was who he was. This is an awesome cover. Appreciate it for who's performing it, not who wrote the song. How many die hard Cohen fans would love Buckleys Hallelujah cover? He would appreciate it for what it ws not who wrote it.

  • who cares if the singer is moving around too much? the vocals are awesome; as is the guitar. good job, one of the best covers ive ever seen

  • This is an excellent job, and this comes from a massive Buckley fan, who is yet to find a cover i enjoy of his songs...even i myself...do not even bother anymore!

  • fucking gay emos

  • please dont cover anymore buckley songs its embarrassing ....

  • weird....tone of his voice doesnt work at all...cut that emo shit hair and try something else ...

  • that is a shit hot cover for two lads from glasgow. quality. ignore what people are saying about overacting, it's bullshit. people can only criticize if they are in the position to do so; and i reckon that nearly everyone who's slagged you off here could not sing that song half as well as you can. good job mate.

  • this is the only singer whom i dont hate when he sings one of jeff buckley's original songs, and i'm sad ramsay left the band

  • what's wrong with the singer??, what a jerk...

  • yeah that singer does a good job but someone needs to tell him he looks like quite the fool waving his arms round like that, you cannot fake the passion that jeff had for his music, you are only kidding yourself if you try and everyone can see through it anyway.

  • i think the singer did a great job, and if hes faking the emotion hes putting into the music hes only failing himself.

  • The backing vocals work really well, although the singer is being an arsehole my flailing his arms all the time, nothing natural or "getting lost in it" really, just some idiot trying to look cool and failing.

  • thanx for calling me a cock mate, very nice...i think they're emo because the singer is a total tit and he's over doing it instead of being naturally amazing like buckley was.

  • i think you guys did great. cool story, too.

  • The singer kind of pisses me off

  • lol a little overacted

  • Andate a cagare!

  • dump emo

  • I really dont like the emo culture too much either, but if your calling these emo's based on their look then you're a bit of a cock to be honest... nothing else about them makes them fit into the "emo" catagory...

  • love it!

the singer is so lost into this, it's beautiful to see.

  • Dont like the emo vocals

  • yeah and the guitar's out of tune

  • true

  • Not really.

  • Jeff Buckley is FARRR from EMO. Far EARLIER than that crap EMO stuff even came into existance. kno ur history...

  • He wasn't calling Jeff "emo," dumbass.

  • Thanks

  • I got your back, signor.

  • I appreciate it man!

  • What? I havent even called him that.

  • vocals are great but guitar .... hmmm to many random noises me thinks or maybe its just the recording

  • Nice try, but it's still blasphemy! i do believe that there are some songs/artists that never should've been covered

  • That was really damn good.

  • Nice try, but it's still blasphemy!

  • Yeah. Jeff Buckley´s mother was at the concert though!

  • Damn. I feel like the Beatles, Dylan, and maybe even Jeff Buckley shouldn't ever be covered. Not to lump him into that group - but it takes a certain something to make those songs "better" than they were. You can throw Johnny Cash into that, whoever - no one is ever going to do a "A Boy Named Sue" better than Johnny Cash. Anyway - I think this is a great cover - I think you got it. Yeah, the lead singer may not have the vocal range, but whatever - fantastic cover. Great tonality.

  • nice!

  • Damn it.... I miss Jeff.

Great to show your appreciation for JB's Great music but he voice had such 'grace' and is untouchable.... He was just so much better than what is around..

What a waste! I'm still not over it!

  • Pretty sweet cover!

But wtf is up with the retard arm swinging!?

  • singing too exagerated......buckley was far better......tributes and tribute band suck most of the time...this is not the exception....

  • Magnificent you really made that your own! Alex

  • this makes me hope they have a jeff buckley cover on the next album

  • This is great, but he looks like he is having a stroke or something like that!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

  • Great cover! Thanks!

  • best buckley cover in existence. its not buckley, but then what is?

  • ughhh what's the point?

  • Check out Grace performed in Paris by Aortal!

  • great voice ...but guitar out of tune man!

  • loved it...it was a little eerie for me to hear, cuz this guy may not be Jeff, but he is still good. The guitar...the song was written in an alternate tuning and he may be playing open, but...still sounded great.

  • How can you hate this cover it's Brilliant. Don't compare them to Jeff buckley... Jeff Buckley was a man, that can't be replaced...

  • awesome cover!

    is that natural spasm?

  • The vocalist did it justice, but to bad the guitar was out of tune. Otherwise it woulda been a great cover.

  • well... this guy had a really cool voice. But nobody touches Buckley.

  • agreed. its a decent arttempt but buckleys voice flowed and travelled so nicely

  • It's so hard for any artist to cover Jeff... he was so brilliant. This cover is one of the best JB covers I have seen...

  • i love them but to cover this song was not a good choice

  • i like the band but they should have left that one alone. As far as Mary.. I'm sure she was emotional but that does not make it a good cover.

  • Wheres the riff?Hmmmm lol only joking very good cover....the singer is moving that way because thats what real artists HAVE to do to get the magic out!

  • That's what "real" artists have to do?

It's what SOME artists have to do, it has nothing to do with how good they are

Some people flail, some people are statues

    Realness is irrelevant

  • Realness its what its all about.

Sarcasm is lost on some people.....

  • Jeff's mother was at the venue that night and by the end of the performance was very emotional saying it was the best cover of one of her son's songs she had ever heard. The singer has the most amazing voice, the band an amazing prescence live and a number of the songs on the album alreay critically aclaimed as classics. I just don't get the emo comparissons. The album and band are about as far away from emo as you can get!

  • wow im impressed. not many people can cover buckley like they just did, it was a very honest cover, didnt seem forced at all. good job to them!

  • well considering i dont know much about buckley besides the fact that hes fucken rad

these guys did an awsome job

except the singer moved like, for lack of a better word, a retard

there is almost certainly a better word

i just cant think of it

    sorry

    but awsome singing

hell sell albums... not live shows

too many people would be trying to run on stage to stop him swallowing his own tongue

    sorry again

  • I've seen them live and they are amazing!! They put so much into it and really get the crowd into it as well! I think the only reason he is acting this way is because he doesn't have his guitar and he doesn't know what to do with himself. Plus hes sitting, I would hate to perform sitting down!

  • yeah this was the first video i saw of them so i didnt know about the guitar

but i saw a few more and he was

well... theres not much to say really there's only so much you can do with a guitar

    but yeah

  • yep, retard moves, but not bad singing.

  • not retard. thats just real music. real art.

  • sei un cucumero

  • Initially, I wrote a pretty lengthy rant about how every part of this was way off , and just terrible in it's own terrible rite (over the top singing that at parts sound like the asshead from Fall Out Boy, removal of key guitar parts to make it sound as emo as possible), but it was longer that 500 characters. Whoops! :p

    F-

  • I see your back again to criticise! You must like the video?

  • Again?

I only posted once. You dumb. Go home.

  • Why the hell is he twitching so much? Looks like a Raid-sprayed bug. I agree, definitely way too dramatic. Sit still, and sing the song with the passion in which it is intended. Quit twitching. The voice is pretty good (of course not Buckley's), but the style needs to improve.

  • way way too emo

  • Way too over the top, jeff's voice was beautiful because it had pain in it and didn't come off sounding melodramatic.

  • i agree. well put!

  • i also agree

  • well nailed indeed very nice respect

  • this band are rocking right now. they're gonna be huge in 2008, gr8 band

  • great singing and playing awesome!

  • not a bad cover.

    i wonder y they're called the cinematics :P

but full respect to the guitarist as there are some suprisingly tricky parts in that song to pull off.

  • I think these guys are very talented. Nobody can sing it like jeff can, but really well done! :D

  • Definately NOT the best cover version. Voice is too melodramatic without any sense of real pain or sorrow behind it. Talented, but it's way to hard to top Jeff.

  • I've been watching videos of Jeff or related to him all day, this is one of the best ones :D

  • Very good. You can def sing but you dont have the cool tone nor the range Buckley had.

  • camp woampanog

  • amazing voice, wish I could sing like that. but the singer looks like he's got akathisia, lol!

  • This is easy ^^ Jeff did it with guitar on the hands, this guys were two trying to achieve him, keep trying, Jeff Buckley is a legend, nobody can sing like him, he had a special voice.

  • perfect cover. if ever you came in the south of france, i'll go to see you play for sure. very very good version.

  • love this song and love scott!

    best voice and cover ever.

    +1 with jcunningham314

    :)

  • si muove come una troia questo cantante. pessimo

    JEFF BUCKLEY 4EVER!!!!!

  • Wow!! Best cover ever heard.

  • like the version hate the vocalist. jeff buckley has that misty haze of coolness or divinity that surrounds him when he sings.

  • Excelent cover.

  • well done cinematics. wouldve made jeff proud: made it your own without losing the passion and the color of the song. beautiful and creative.

  • Are there more videos with these guys? Are they on myspace?

  • This is great!! Jeff Buckley is not easy to follow..But you do it in an excellent way. I love it.

  • Not a bad cover. Like everyone else says, it is hard to cover Jeff. This is top 5 on Jeff covers. The best is a cat from Cleveland called Xela doing Eternal Life for Jeff's mom at the Rock hall's tribute to Jeff.

  • Top 5....are you kidding me.....bullshit...you dont know good music...talent like jefff is very rare to find harder even to imitate....anyway if you want real music i can sing to you...i sing real well....ohhhhh...the sweet music we would be making....

  • IF your singing matches your arrogance you can sing better than Jeff Buckley

And that contravenes the first law of physics

so put some videos up and prove it

  • Hard to cover Jeff...But This was good.

  • Utterly fantastic.

  • Great cover. I don't know what the other commenters are on about...if you want a carbon copy, listen to Jeff Buckley. It's a hard song to sing, but they were able to approach it from their own stylistic perspective. Bravo.

  • great song, great cover.

  • Wow. You guys do an excellent job of covering this song. Nice vocals ...

  • Really amazing cover! This is the best Buckley-cover i've ever heard. Amazing voice... gosh.

  • Buckley covers are hard to do -- they got it really damn close. Awesome cover.

  • From what I know, Mary Guibert, Jeff´s mother, was there in the room. Am I right?

  • Youve got a right voice lol

  • amazing cover.

  • spot on, I think the guitar would have sounded better live its just the shitty recording medium thats making it sound outta tune, superb band, great cover
