  • @Syzygy60 sry 'bout that, that was the 23rd beer talking

  • The Winter Brothers need to be inducted together and with their individual bands, that would be a Jam

  • I find this natural

  • I can't believe someone didn't like this ON THEIR WORST day they are better than what is out there now..! They totally rock!

  • WONDERFUL ! THANK'S JOHNNY FOR SIGN'IN MY BOOTLEGG VOL 1 LP ! 2 RECORND SET 561-542-6993

  • Brotherly love...

  • 2 True Icons

  • Phenomenal talents! Love their music!

  • @ da324... no, I didn't know them.... but, I lived in the South Park addition and went to South Park High... the Winters and many of their friends went to Beaumont High. We had a little Rock & Roll band and our lead guitarist (David Koon) used to go over to the Winters house to learn some of Johnny's licks. BTW... their old house was sold a few years ago and the family auctioned off a lot of personal items. My brother bought a pocket knife and a harmonica.

  • I remember this. Went with my husband and brother John. What a great show.

  • eagles, please come home for christmas. the brothers are bad!

  • saw johnny 3 times so far, edgar once in Va Beach,I said "Edgar,my man!" and he squinted to see who was talikng

  • please come home for christmas , saw Johnny do this at the Palace in Hollywood around the same time period

  • As an original member of "Johnny And The Jammers" I really enjoyed watching these two brothers perform together. Oh yeah, every musician who lived in Beaumont Texas back in the 60s now claims to have onced played in the Johnny and Edgard Winter Band. ;)

  • @GumboRon Did you grow up in Beaumont? If so, do you know Wayne and Donnie Weathersby? They were friends with the Winter brothers growing up in Beaumont, but didn't play music with them. Wayne and I are best friends and he's been hugely influential on my guitar playing. I'm sure it's a long shot, but thought I would throw it out there.

  • won't even comment on this "tag" - shouldn't even be tagged

  • There's nothing like a Johnny's scream...

  • Hall of fame! Why are these guys (and Derringer) not in??? A crime!!

  • mmmm.....

  • TOTALLY agree with myuleskinner62

I have been a fan for over 40 years.... Johnny Winter is an ICON and is brother is right there with him. Ideas on how to get them both recognized the way they should be people?? HALL OF FAME... something!!

  • can somebody tell me what the name of this song?

  • 'Please Come Home for Christmas'

  • @star4blue "Please Come Home for Christmas", originally written and performed by Charles Brown--a man that greatly influenced Ray Charles' music style.

  • to wacoman49...i just put that on tonite....derringers rock and roll set..especially back in the USA is the best rock'n roll solo i have ever heard...when i was young lad learning guitar it was what i listened to over and over and over and over...one of my first concerts as a teenager was johnny in 74..the tour they made the album from..i was amazed...floyd radford on guitar as well ...wow...

  • Two brothers, both gigantic rock icons (at least in my damn book). I certainly hope these guys are in the rock & roll hall of fame. As you can tell, I've never been there...sigh.

  • bluehairgirl69 Weeellllllll.....I'm a white old timer and have a red-haired fine ex wife, does that count? I'm kidding............I'm really not that old. Glad you have a sense of humor and were not offended.

  • "People keep asking me-uh...where's yer brother? There he is..........Hey Johnny!!" That's from EDGAR WINTER'S WHITE TRASH, the ROADWORK album, released 1972. It's a double album ( am still playing it on my DENON relic turntable ) and it really rocks. Jerry Lacroix vocals, Mike McClellan trumpet, Edgar & Johnny, Bobby Ramirez drums, Rick Derringer & Randy Jo Hobbs. Great lin-up. EPIC RECORDS 31249 if ur interested.

  • @wacoman49 Got the very same album, and like you play it on my antique technics turntable...but hey, what an album, still probably my favourite live album. keep playing bud!!

  • Hey the greeninferNO...Don't watch much Simpsons so I missed the joke. Your comment seemed a little over the top so I had to over react I guess. Consider this an apology dude. About the 'get fucked', I do as often as I can, wonder if the blue haired girl is interested. PAX

  • If your a white albino or redhead I might be interested...

  • the comment I made below is for the user name "thegreeninferno" who obviously is an insecure jerk!

  • Hey, let's not get carried away here. I love Johnny and Edgar Winter & I agree they are talented. If you watched enough Simpsons you'd know that I'm only joking. As for calling me a insecure jerk, you don't even know me so you can get fucked. Both you and wacoman49!

  • Yo 'thegreeninfernBLOW'........you must have made a wrong turn looking for your 'pillow biters and fudge packers' site. Hasta la vista ASSHOLE

  • "thegreeninfernBLOW" that's very clever dude. I'll have you use it one day!

  • Die you chalk faced goons!

  • f**k you!

Men with albinism are hot! ..both Johnny & Edgar are gorgeous and very talented!

  • Tanx man!

  • Awesome indeed...

  • In the dictionary, there is a word, talent. Next to this word, this video should be mandatory. If we could get Stevie Wonder and a few others to jump in, it would be the total definition.

  • AWESOME!

  • i so fainted at this show dec 16 1992 and almost died in a head on collision in 1998 same day love you johnny

  • The Winter Brothers are guys that should be getting more attention for their contribution to American music; Edgar with his jazz, and Johnny producing several award winning albums for Muddy Waters, better do something before it's too late....

  • Yes, they're both underrated for their contributions.

  • @myuleskinner62 / EFFIN' A

  • @myuleskinner62 I know. That's been buggin' me too.

  • @myuleskinner62 Johnny Winter's song Dallas is one of my favorite blues songs

  • @myuleskinner62 They are legends of music and when I start to rant and rave about them, some people are like 'who?' That hurts...so much soul and incredible musicianmanship!

  • @myuleskinner62 Absolutely !!! National Treasures and Monumental World talents. (And I'm a Canadian saying that too - for so many years!)

  • Incredible!!!!! Doing this song for the holiday party... Rocks!!!! Full back up, too... very excited. The Winters are amazing. Peace, Sharon

  • you should include song title in the Youtube description

my comment would get deleted by me, if you do

thanks for all the great uploads

  • I'm Jewish and I LOVE this song.

  • Saw the Johnny & Edgar "Together" tour in '76 @ Civic Center in Springfield, MA. The opening act was Lynyrd Skynyrd. All I can say is WOW!!! An unbelievable night!!

  • FELT FORUM NYC! WAS THERE in the 70's to see them together...

  • I was traveling In the early 70's and passed through Greenwich, CT.

I stopped there and found that Edgar Winter was doing a show at the High School.. Went there and walked in (no cost). while Edgar was playing i noticed Johnny sitting on the side of the stage. He came out at the end and they played together... These guys are excellent.

Thanks for posting... it brings back a lot of memories.

  • In 1974 saw Johnny open for edgar winter group, than after a 1 hour intermission both bands came out and played together doing a bunch of old hits, all recorded by the wally Hyder mobile recording van, with a following albumn. After seeing johhny at least 6 times this particular show was unbelieveable !!!

  • @allensteck I saw the same tour in Nashville, Tenn. - and a year later Johnny came back .with Fi=og Hat opening the show... both times both groups where laying it down.....That was way back there when we use to crah the gates at a rock&roll show. We aint too far removed from those days...

  • I'm fortunate to have gone to a show in the 70's whereby they both were billed & finished together.

  • Thanks much for putting this up!!!!!!

  • i saw them both and Excellent show Years ago .. then i saw a show ...Jimmy Page was lead G @ the time ...maybe place des arts montreal ? I cant recall...

    Oldster memory ... :D

  • A nice duet.

  • About as close as I ever came to be a fan of anyone in rock or hollywood! Yeah, I liked it best when Johnny and Edgar Winter played together, with Derringer. Never put a picture of them up on my wall, but liked their music a lot and something great about the look.

  • I remember seeing white trash at the Santa Monica Civic center,Edgar sez...People keep asking me where is your brother..Then a big scream and Here comes Johnny.Johnny will spin your head around, and Never plays the same thing twice .And 2 of the best musicians in the WORLD.Johnny is in very bad health now and I wish him well.

  • Johnny and Edgar together what could be better .only when Rick Derringer shows up .They are the best thanks for posting this AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I went and saw Johnny & Edgar about six weeks ago. It was great, yet the big suprise wasthe opening act, Slam, which was a percussion act I'd never heard of. What anall around great night

that takes the time to uploaded 4 us!

Love and Happiness! From a old and reminiscent...ETBRAIN

  • ET

why didnt they play more together? it seems like johnny like the blues and edgar desired a different feel. is this what divided them?

  • I do not know the answer to your question, "2468oldschooltimes" but I think maybe you're in the right track for it.

It seem to me, Johnny always lean towards more raw rock & blues and Edgar search for a more up to date beat & sound. But don't worry, even The Beatles broke up!

    What can I say?

    Cheers!

  • ET

it just occured to me and perhaps a simple obvious reason why two different genres...the guitar loved by Johnny and the everything but guitar by edgar. what think ye???? In other words, what instrument is chosen greatly influences the musical style. ???. I dont recall edgar playing the guitar and perhaps if he did i wonder what would happen next.???

  • Yes, I wonder too. I think that there is an obvious difference in music taste but I also think that some poor management decisions were made during their heyday. I know they like playing together.

  • He switched his reed mid-song!!!

  • Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaow yeah

  • two of the coolest long haired hippy freaks

    texas ever produced

    totaly top rate musicians

    sooo cooool !!!!

  • Thanks that youtube I am remembering thouse years. I was teen I did not have money to buy the plays with my favorites songs, this videos make me feel so good and thanks to thouse people who poste their videos too.

  • damn it ,its march and i got the christmas blues o ready

  • Happy 65th to Johnny today 2-23-09! One of my faves by the winter bros! Off 1992's Hey, Where's your brother? CD by Johnny, his last studio CD at peak form.

  • what a marvelous couple!!!

  • edgar an jhonny are both albino

  • whoever's been looking for real rock and roll, this is it right here. yes, the albino dudes. THAT'S THEM. REAL ROCK N ROLL.

  • ahahaha, ya that's them, they're two of the baddest brothers on the planet. How many instruments does Edgar play? super talents,

    just keep jammin' away....

  • I think he plays 147, but don't quote me on that. WINTER BROTHERS RULE!!!

  • that i blues my friend!

  • I have 2 albums by them together both a great albums.

    Together Live 1976 &

    Rock 'N' Roll

  • i've seen 'em both...never together

  • Same here.

  • They sound so good together they should have been in a band toghether like the Allamn Brothers or something, but I guess they've done okay.

  • I saw Edgar and Johnny together at Toads Place in the late 90's and they performed this tune together. I wonder if this tape is from that night?

  • if you saw them in the late nineties and this was filmed in 92 i don't believe this is the same night.....

  • Johnny and Edgar are my 'Homeboys' raised just a few miles from me in Beaumont Texas. I have had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Johnny 'Guitar Slinger' Winter. It was at a little club in Cibolo Creek Texas. He was gracious and charming and COOL! It was a tremendous thrill for me after listening to his wonderful work for so many years. I have seen him a number of times. He ALWAYS blows the house away. I saw the two together at e reunion concert in Beaumont.

  • WOW !

  • Edger Winter=whitest man alive, and still awsome

  • It's ironically cool that they're both albino - it's kinda like: "you're goddam right a white man can play the blues" -

  • @SupernalOne 'Course they can play the the blues they grew up in Beaumont Texas, which sits on the Louisiana border. Both Johnny and Egar met and played with guys like BB King and plus Johnny was flat-out a genius of Blues interpretation. They played the honky-tonks and partied with all kinds of people before the record labels got a hold of 'em.

  • @SupernalOne HAHA

  • Truly awesome!

  • I can write for you any sheet music

  • Actually, Johnny was the first white man ever inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame - before Clapton or Stevie Ray Vaughn - that's pretty indicitive of his amazing talent.

  • These two should have been BIG STARS but they didnt fit into the the corporate cookie cutter model of what "Rock Stars" should look like.. Both of them are awesome and should be in R & R Hall of Fame as well.. I think Johnny is in The Blues Hall of Fame already.

  • `Please come home for christmas`

  • wow twas mind-blowing

    but what song is this

  • Johnny was the man!

  • JOHNNY IS THE MAN!!!

  • Breath-taking! Two brothers, two geniuses!!

  • Long live Texas.

  • Truly they are two of the greatest musicians ever. It is really cool to watch Johnny and Edgar perform together. Thanks for posting this video.

  • heart warming brings me back to a really deep soulful place in my life n time .. a ver happy mellowtime

  • Wow..thanks so much posting!! Just loving this!!

  • Love it. JUST LOVE IT.

    And that's a 14-yo talking.

  • Such a beautiful treat, thank you, so moving. Rare, unique.

  • wish someone would post the absolutely awesome Tobacco Road they recorded live...

  • you are a clown

  • Shut the fuck up and pass the cherrios

  • You are an asshole !!!!!

  • two of beaumont texas , best bluesmen johnny and edgar legends in entertainment.

  • I saw them 'together' in 76, and they put out a LIVE album, called "Together" later that year. Fantastic show!! I just saw Edgar & Rick, a while back...... Tobacco Road ROCKS!!!

    Long Live Johnny & Edgar.

  • Yeah man.I remember that album.I recorded it on tapes back in late 70s.They did "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" on that one.Really miss it.Thanks
