  • The Firebox is a great option for an emergency stove because it is very versatile, folds flat for easy storage and doubles as a no trace camp fire.

  • Another way to cook that you didn't mention is over a campfire. Obviously doesn't require gasoline or propane....but just firewood and some kind of fire-starter. Although it would be better to have one of these gasoline or propane grills as a first option and a campfire as a second.

  • man you got some real good info on these videos very informative

  • See now that's a prime example of how you learn something new every day.

I do a fair bit of hiking and camping and I saw those there primer multi-fuel stoves a lot of times and even studied how they were used, yet I never actually thought about how versatile and useful they really are before now :P

Been used to be able to break of a few dry twigs or just pick them of the ground in almost any weather seeing as I live in Norway.

Anyhow, going to buy one and I just subscribed to your channel.

  • Apparently this guy cant get laid.

  • When ever I'm feeling down,I watch this guy video's. He's a trip. Him and his surplus store Boonie hat. I'm tellin ya. :o)

    ROFLMAO

  • MRE - Meals Ready to Eat

  • What is MREs

and on your what ef you lose electricty video(you disabled comments there)what if you have natrual gas, and use a lighter to light it.

    Would that be out?

And just have all your electric stove neibors over and eat up the food

  • how much are MREs?

  • Hey kevin again great videos,I was wondering if you could do a video on what a survivalst should have around the house and gear we should have if a emergency happpens or blackouts etc.

  • Great video.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the community.

  • polydactylcat - perhaps you have never heard the old saying, "If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all."

  • ya know ,..maybe u should just shut ur pie hole boy

  • polydactylcat - if you dont like the videos, then dont watch them. And since you choose to watch the videos upon your own free will, then dont complain.

  • a sleeping bag should be rated above what is actually comfortable, my sleeping bag is rated at 25 but i have been comfortable in it at temps below 10

  • Um, please give the definition of the single survival situation that everyone has to prepare for. Please include the location, duration, temperature, weather, security situation, medical conditions that exist, bug or stay-at-home, etc. Since, obviously, he didn't know all the facts regarding the single and only survival situation that he, you and everyone else needs to prepare for.

  • MAN THIS GUY IS THINKING AHEAD!!!! "When you goto Toco Bell, Stock up on these!"

  • Good camping trick i practice

    flip charcoal starter upside down

    lightly pack with kindling

dutch oven on top only needs small

fire to soak up heat and cook...

  • seems like he knows it all.

  • To the guys making comments about how kev should post videos without all the "man made stuff"... do you think if some type of disaster occurs all of the stuff he has, or that you have, will not exist? What I think kev is trying to point out in this video is that you need some type of cooking method other than the one you normally in the case of a disaster.

  • sterno is bad, it cant even boil water

  • I havent seen much in the way of survival from your videos..how bout showing how to cook with out a grill you made out of man made materials

  • dickenz07 - Have you ever been though a natural disaster, such as a hurricane?

  • No.... just war.

  • I agree with you dickenz he does have some informative videos but in terms of REAL survival these are just backyard power goes out kinda stuff. In terms of SHIT REALLY HITTING THE FAN people will need to resort to collecting a pile of wood and making a fire to cook outdoors not all of this other stuff better off just buying some Flint and steel or a bunch matches were gunna need em

  • What do you need utensils for?

  • Interesting, you're the first person I've seen who suggests plastic utensils rather than stainless. Although I would still prefer stainless or maybe even titanium utensils; and if I don't have a place to wash 'em I guess I'll have to use something to wipe them.

  • Wiping does not remove bacteria. If you can not wash your utensils in clean water and soap - throw them away and use clean fresh new ones.

  • Boiling or placing the utensils near fire should be sufficient for bacteria/most parasites.

  • You have a good point, and yes it will work. Why dont you post a write up on the website about your suggestion? We will get more feed back there.

  • THAT A BIG solution

  • great video thanks for the info

  • enjoyed the vid, i liked the small homemade BBQ, it looks like a copper pot and some pipe. thats would actually make a good project.

  • i like your videos they taught me alot, i live in long island NY not to far from the water so a hurricane on level of Katrina would mess my area up, but i am prepared i got a bug out bag if need be an i have Bushmaster M-4 carbine, D.S.A FN-FAL with bi pod, an a Mossberg 590 exactly like yours, anyway thank you very much an keep on making these videos

  • really? what town are you in? im in ridge, i have a mosin nagant, mossberg 500 and a few .22's, and i'm getting an AK47 before 2008.

  • good INFO!

  • where do you get your mres from

  • Left overs from a hurricane

  • Just someone that lives down the road.
