sTAY STRONG SWEETHEART, my father used to kick the shit of us, he's not in our life by choice. My sisters are younger & I could see how it affected them more. My brothers & I try to fill in some & as time passes I can see a change.
I think it may be like that for you, if you can fill the void a little in other healthy ways it will get easier in time.
It sucks when the parent is the one that needs to grow up. Who knows what the future holds things could change next week, a yr etc. Hang in there
