So few people (in my work life) remember this song (or Mr. Popeille).... I was just singing this to myself the other day and the boss' son (who does know who Weird Al is) asked me what I was humming. I told him (he didn't know the song) and it occurred to me that this was made and popular at least 10 years before he was even concieved! EEK! We're all old... but Weird Al is AGELESS! :)

This was probably the biggest thing that Al did at the time. Think about it, he wrote "My Balogna" in 79'. This movie was released in 84'. Considering that movies generally take around 2 years to produce. It only took 3 years for his career to take off.
