how do you get a population cap above 200?! Please tell!!!!

@DesiDude297 You can get it above 200 if you build the colossus wonder. it ads limit by 50. If you have Indian birds rare resource it further extends population limit.

Hmm.. there was no capital timer I'm guessing you turned that off.. and I can see why.. this scenario must have been extremely difficult.

@MrMister34 yeah they were difficult but the reason i didn have the timers is because i had "world government" technology researched.

I've recently got back into RoN and I'm once again loving it. I found the 'squashed' look of the game to be annoying thought, so I went to C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Ap­pData\Microsoft Games\Rise of Nations and edited my rise2.ini file to allow widescreen resolutions. Makes the game a whole lot better at 1920x1200 :D

The above path is for Windows 7 and you must change your folder settings to 'Show Hidden Folders'

Wow, Nuclear war with AI seems very unlikly! I have tried countless times to get a nuclear exchange going with my enemy but i can seem to get one, I find that once i launch nuclear missiles at thier minor citys they want peace, i then accept that gives me time to build up my stockpile of nuclear weapons and tanks, Infantry then i strike once again giving me the upper hand in battle

@DoomDigital you have to be at least at moderate difficulty level for AI to use Nuclear Missiles.

are nukes pretty much the way to win in this game? You seem to use them a lot. Granted, their nukes, but all things must be balanced in a game.

@every116 not really. nukes are more for strategic warfare. plus AI develops them also. to develop nuclear weapons takes a lot of resources, which is hard when you are at war. Plus when you use them, you face a nuclear trade embargo, which could be worse than the nuke itself.

I think the best nations for ages are as follows

Ancient + Classical = Persian/ Romans/ Egyptians

Medieval = Germany/ Mongols / China

Renaissance = Turks

Enlightenment = France/Britain

Modern = USA/Russia

Information age = Russia

Maybe you can have a nation to take the place as Israel like everyone is allied (no-one to israel) then when israel is destroyed all the arabs fight each other also make nuclear weapons more expensive in the editor.
