In any case, if the NSA wants to listen to my phone calls, I say "have at it", I have nothing to hide. If others do, that is their problem. I would wager that the cases you cite are probably not cases of "policy" but rather where individual operators abused their positions, the most that should happen, and did under my supervision, the operators found guilty were removed fromt their positions and penalized.

Aside from all the other faults I find with Obama, I found another this morning that is especially disturbing. While I do not feel that the Constitution mandates a "seperation of church and state" since most for the founding fathers were Christians of a sort. I do not feel that Churches are the proper place for campaigning. Since I have seen Obama on no less than eight occasions giving political speeches from the Pulpit, I view this as one more adverse commentary on his character.

If his past is any example, he will lead by giving away the store to the radical islamists and surrendering on all fronts, while converting our nation to a socialist state where the first amendment is eliminated.

All of the world leaders know that he is the one who will lead us to peace and harmony and he has convinced them to follow his leadership. I am not worried about North Korea or Osama Bin Laden or Afghanistan because I know that soon they will come around to Barack's way of thinking. Bank bail outs started with Bush, and Obama could either let all our retirement plans go bankrupt along with the banks or sustain them and hence our investments. In any case, if the NSA wants to listen to my phone calls, I say "have at it", I have nothing to hide. If others do, that is their problem. We can debate this till the cows come home but most of it isn't covered by U.S. law. Laws have not been updated to cover modern technology. Just like the Gitmo detainees, are they criminals, or POWs? I would wager that the cases you cite are probably not cases of "policy" but rather where individual operators abused their positions, the most that should happen, and did under my supervision, the operators found guilty were removed fromt their positions and penalized.
As for Murdochs comment, I worked for a major defense contractor, and the CEO supported the corporation, on the war, I imagine he was for it, that did not stop us from supporting law enforcement, and local city planners etc.

Aside from all the other faults I find with Obama, I found another this morning that is especially disturbing. While I do not feel that the Constitution mandates a "seperation of church and state" since most for the founding fathers were Christians of a sort. I do not feel that Churches are the proper place for campaigning. Since I have seen Obama on no less than eight occasions giving political speeches from the Pulpit, I view this as one more adverse commentary on his character.

I would go easy in the references to sex at taxpayer expense since both sides, Clinton, Foley, Mahoney, Spitzer, etc. have both been guilty of sex (phone and otherwise) on the taxpayers dime.

I am not a skeptic, I am a pragmatist. I listen to Obama and he is very socialist in his statements. I have seen socialist systems, up close and we are nowhere near that yet in all systems, some but not all. Obama would take us at a minimum one step closer.
I am not among the wealthy by any stretch, I make well below half of what Obama considers "wealthy" ($250K), that being said, putting the heaviest burden on the top 1% is not the answer.

Btw, I live at the tipping point of income where the taxes begin to increase--my partner has told me we will pay more taxes under Obama, and we endorse him anyway.
And you might gather that as a homebirther and homeschooler I don't regard big gov't with great favor. But our choices are our choices, and Obama is better qualified to gain the world's cooperation(in a BBC survey of 22 foreign countries ALL favored Obama), and right our ship of state.

All that will do is cause the richest of the business owners to pass their burden on down to the consumer and reduce the number of employees they have on the payroll. Obama's financial plan is the typical "tax & spend" liberal plan. What none of the politicans seem to get is that the best economic system is not to increase taxes, but to reduce spending.
The best economist cannot compare to the low wage family that has to live within their means, when it comes to financial planning.

I know there have been some socialist gov'ts that have been horrific- the famines in the Ukraine, Ceaucescu's excesses, etc. Other's, like Sweden, have been fine.
But before condemning Obama you should consider why the Goldwater family, Christopher Buckley(William F.'s son)and other conservatives have endorsed Obama.
Most telling of all was Charles Fried, who withdrew from the McCain campaign ITSELF, to endorse Obama--he cited "the choice of Sarah Palin at a time of national crisis".

The idea of a free press means that the person running the paper/radio/TV/website says what they wish, and people get to decide what they want to believe, the Dems in COngress want the Fairness Doctrine back and Obama, based on his commentary would sign it without question.

until a liberal I was debating on another forum accused me of being a mind numbed follower of theirs. I am indeed a conservative, but it took a liberal to direct me to Newsmax. As for Fox, they are no different than any other news bunch, and I casually listen to them from time to time, but what I find funny is that the people who don't like Fox, typically point to videos on YouTube that are videos of Fox Commentators, not their News Anchors.

It is simply not true that Fox is no different than any other bunch. Rupert Murdoch, the owner of Fox news, said, "we supported the war". I watched that entire statement at the world economic forum(vids). Additionally, viewers of different channels were given a test of the facts--Fox viewers scored the worst by far--many of them thought the 9-11 hijackers were Iraqi.
I supported Ron Paul in the primaries, so I am not criticizing Fox out of any rabid dislike of conservatism per se.

It sounds like you are unfamiliar with the NSA case. Remember those warrantless wiretaps the Bush administration authorized that we law-abiding Americans shouldn't worry about? It turns out they were recording overseas Americans conversations with their spouses and swapping the best bits.

Euphemisms... Obama always speaks about "redirecting" or "changing out focus" on the middle east to surrounding countries like Afghanistan or Pakistan to fight "terrorist." I'm not saying he equals Hitler, but you have to be wary of what these vague terms mean.

I happen to agree with Obama. Put your energy into the important places. They believe Osama is in Pakistan, so get the Pakistanis involved. And the war in Afghanistan is not over, so let's redirect our efforts there and out of Iraq.
It's not like McCain doesn't believe the same thing. He's just not as upfront about it.

If you are for peace, then you are for ending our engagement as a world empire, particularly our imperialism in the Middleeast. Obama is for continuing our involvement in the region. This doesn't mean peace, but continuing to engage our troops in conflict. The only way to bring about peace is to stop controlling the politics of the middle east. This is why they hate us. All the force in the world won't stop the conflict, until we realize why it is caused.

I did not once hear Obama talk about more war. I don't know where you guys are getting this from that he wants more war. It's McCain who wants more war.
All I've heard from Obama is about peace and about sitting down and talking with opposing nations with no pre-conditions.

Like I said before, Obama uses a lot words that may or may not be euphemism for his future policies. Obama often speaks about the US leading in the fight against world terrorism and prevention of nukes. I'll take a guess and say that he will continue to use US military dominance in the region to fight terrorism. You even agree with Obama that we should focus on Afghan more. This doesn't mean peace but conflict. Afghan is a war zone after all. Peace cannot be brought through war.

Okay, very pretty words, but what exactly is your foreign policy Senator Obama? All he did, was state the obvious problems, and talk about change. I would really really like to know what he plans on changing before I vote for him. Either he doesn't have a foreign policy, or he doesn't want us to know what his foreign policy is. I am no advocate of Maccain (he is almost as liberal as Obama is, and a terrible excuse for a conservative).
