  • The correct term is Occupational TheraPY Aassistant, not Occupational TheraPIST Assistant. The difference is that a COTA is an assistant to the PROFESSION, not an assistant to a THERAPIST. Occupational therapists value COTAs as partners, working WITH us, not FOR us.

  • Please be aware that the occupational therapy field can be emotionally as well as physically draining.

  • @Jannsmith Could you please further explain this statement. I am in the process of deciding between OT and PT.
