The correct term is Occupational TheraPY Aassistant, not Occupational TheraPIST Assistant. The difference is that a COTA is an assistant to the PROFESSION, not an assistant to a THERAPIST. Occupational therapists value COTAs as partners, working WITH us, not FOR us.
