Oh, hold on theer. I love trucks & I sure as hell love cabovers, but as an engineer for UP, can you tell me how many trucks it would take to haul 20,000 TONS of coal to a coal plant so you can have electricity & still keep within the parameters of DOT regs? A shitload. Train will always outhaul trucks when it comes to bulk transportation. If a truck carries it to wal-mart 90% of the goods were unloaded from a railcar on to the truck first of all. You wouldnt believe the shit we move...

Chinese make the shit, its loaded into containers, and shipped to the USA. At the port of Long Beach, those containers are loaded onto trains, where then shipped to Wal-marts main distribution center. Then trucked to the stores.

Don't get me wrong, i like trucks and trains. There's somethings a train can do that a truck cant, and there's things that a truck can and a train cant. its a win-win situation.

the man's got a point, don't down grade trucks when they're hauling more damn freight than the damn trains are and they're doing it faster...it's also the prefered method of transport. when a shipment needs to get to a certain place fast. they put it on a truck, not a train.
