In the pokedex on Diamond it says area unknown for Vulpix, do you need a game in the gba slot or need to wait for an outburst of them (you know from Dawn/Lucas's little sister) please tell me, I really want to know.

@tommocko1997 sorry to hear that. Yup, you can do the random encounters or you can hatch for it on diamond/pearl/platinum using the masuda method which increases your odds to 1 in 2048 instead of 1 in 8192 for a random encounter shiny vulpix. I wish you lots of luck again, in either case.

@Z33 I can't do the Masuda method because I don't have a foreign pokemon, but I did a hatch a shiny Eevee on the 6th egg without it- I guess I'll do both, the eggs and random encounters.

quick question. How difficult is vulpix to chain. i know it is listed as "uncommon" but in your opinion how difficult is this one relative to other pokemon? I am a beginner and i am wondering if i should go for a shiny vulpix or start with something easier.

i was running through this grass where u can find ponyta and bronzor and i was like i wonder what it would be like if i found a shiny ponyta cuz i only have 5 pokeballs.... then i was about to use a repel, but i was like... hey i might actually find a shiny this time so might as well! then... BAM! shiny bronzor out of nowhere... caught it wif 2 pokeballs... but it took FOREVER to catch cuz i was too strong and had to use really weak pokemon.

It will have the same chance of being a shiny as a random encounter, 1 in 8192. If you use the masuda method, the chances are better around, 1 in 2000.

By:

beating the elite 4, winning a master rank contest, capturing 50 flags in the underground game, completing the national pokedex and if you want the 5th star, win 100 battles in a row at the battle tower.

You can do them in any order that you like. Good luck.

If you have diamond tauros in not as rare as miltank, but in pearl miltank is not as rare as tauros. Just keep at it. I know that you can do it.

Yes, but you need Leaf Green inserted in GBA slot 2. The shiny version are rare, the odds of finding one is 1 in 8192. That's why I chain for shiny pokemon because at chain 40 the odds of finding a shiny is 1 in 200.

Try to bring a pokemon with the ability soundproof or suction cups. It will prevent roar from working.

No it doesn't. You'll need to bring a pokemon with the ability "suction cups"...Lileep, Cradily, or Octillery have that ability.
