  • I met Paul Harvey shortly before he passed away, he was walking around downtown Oak Park Illinois with a friend and he took time to say hello and he talked to me and to others who stopped him to say hi. He was a kind man.

  • MR. HARVEY YOU ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE AMERICAN TALK/ NEWS RADIO! FOR I DARE SAY THERE WILL EVER BE ANOTHER PAUL HARVEY OR ANYONE WHO MIGHT BE ABLE TO FILL YOUR SHOES SIR!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE YEARS OF SERVICE TO YOUR AMERICAN FRIENDS OVER THE AIRWAYS!! MY YOU TELL US THE NEWS IN HEAVEN WHEN WE MEET AGAIN AND HEAR YOUR GOLDEN VOICE!!

  • I grew up listening to Paul Harvey and I'm only 28 now.......He will be sorely missed.

  • I bought a Bose system just because Paul Harvey told me to.

  • I miss Paul Harvey very much.

  • I can't count the number of products that I either tried or someone that I know tried because of Paul Harvey

  • my grandfather is 90 and still doing great!!! he listened to paul harvey all the time!!! RIP Paul Harvey

  • You kno the more i listen tot he very end of the story, he sounds like he is crying, and that makes me think that he knew that it would probably be his last ever show. R.I.P Paul!!

  • I used to hear Mr. Harvey every time I was at my 4th grade best friend's house near noon...her Mother listened every day. After marriage, 25 yrs later, my husband & I listened every day at noon, then later at his, "The Rest of the Story". What a voice and what common sense he had.

NO ONE like him, then or since.

  • @3VWsdriver

I hear you! I used to take my AM transistor radio to school & listen to his noon show at recess.

  • I remember sitting in my dad's pickup with engine off parked on the old dirt driveway under a shade tree on our dairy farm my dad and I just sat and listening to his Saturday broadcast before we started our next chore I remeber thinking this guy is good this was in the 70's and I listened to him from then on what a great memory that is for me and what a great man I don't think anyone will ever be able to do it as good as Paul Harvey .Paul Harvey you are greatly missed rest in peace and GOOD DAY

  • @funnystudios69 good comment...my dang finger twitched as I was sliding mouse to thumbs up...wish it was still on left, not moved to right...Paul was my morning news person for REAL non-politically colored news. Good Day!

  • Paul harvey was the F'KING MAN, dude.

  • His is the voice heard every morning during breakfast time on WISN Radio from Milwaukee across my young years every morning before leaving for school. Then through my colllege years, getting my first job, moving to New York City, getting work, developing a career and now nearing retirement. One could blow up a lot of balloons whith all the breath he used in all his time on the air. He will be dearly missed.

  • Im only 16 but I know that Paul Harvey was and will always be the best radio brodcaster! He had such a way with words. Rest In Peace Mr. Paul Harvery.

  • how could you not have a good day after listening to Paul GOOD DAY friend

  • he was 90 and sounded like this? we should all make it to 90...let alone sound this good. he was the best. no peer.

  • i think Paul would have taken that as a complement, i don't know if you guys listened to the radio memorial thingy, but I'm pretty sure his goal was not to broadcast just news but all the other things that where happening that couldn't be truly considered news

he was a great man, god rest his soul

  • I'm glad you posted this. I haven't listened in recent years because I didn't know when he would be on. It was wonderful to hear him one more time.

    Good day :)

  • Mr Harvey ... Good day ;>)

  • Good day!

  • GOD BELSS YOU PAUL i am gonna miss you my friend

  • Whoa dude.--

I offered condolences to his family and loved ones. I also mentioned his charm, as well as his nostalgic and sentimental demenor.

It's just that all of that is not news--it's gossip, nostalga, and quirky personality but not really news. I also managed to do so without the nasty name-calling featured in your reply.

(Paul would have loved these final words)

    Good Day!

  • cold bastard...give a little respect for a radio pioneer and legend in the wake of his death. Pompous ass

  • PM11,....what an ass you are.

  • pajamagram..i'm sold.

  • He kinda choked up at the end like he knew it was the final one. R.I.P Paul. We Miss You Already.

  • I've rarely heard his regular News & Comment in Canada.I'm more familiar with his great "The Rest of the Story".What a voice!

It's hard to believe another host broadcast into an even later age,but Alistair Cook was still broadcasting "Letter From America" on BBC radio up until a few weeks before his death at age 95 in '04,a show he'd been doing steadily for 58 years, its prototype begun by him another 8 years prior,in 1938!

I think Harvey still beat him for total # of years in radio though!

  • R.I.P. a great man
