Nascar today is like football. No rubbing, too many rules. Its not the sport it was when sr, Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough and so many others were racing. Hell it aint even close to a stock car. The cars in the 70's were going faster at Daytona than they do today.
I was a big NASCAR fan in the 90s, but by the time Earnhardt died I was fed up with it. NASCAR has been boring to me for years and I don't watch it anymore. I hate the generic "car of tomorrow" and all the bullshit cautions they make up excuses for just so they can artificially bunch up the field. I swear I could spit on the track and they'd go yellow.
I still like reruns of old races from back in the 60s-80s - back in those days NASCAR was awesome. Today it's an insult to my intelligence.
How is it bad today? I don't know why because it is not 10 years ago? I don't all the hate because I can still sit down and watch a race and enjoy it. Even the tandem isn't as bad as all the "fans" who stop watching for the slightest rule change say it is. I think Dale would still race because he stuck with something even if there are changes he might not 100% agree on.
@vikingsallday005 i appologize, but you should have just left a 2 week old comment be, you were comming across in other comments as a "nascar is the best motorsports around!!!1111" so, i felt i would interject, i disabled my comments before because of the shitstorm that was happening, i don't want to have to do it again
@Rcrby525 Quite frankly, IMO this situation should never have occured. It really all started with that jerk xmods accusing me of making fun of Earnhardt, which is bullshit. I certainly was not making fun of him, at least I wasn't trying to. I think xmods was just trying to start something with me. Regardless, his ignorance and insulting me as a NASCAR fan caused me to lose my temper and made me say something I didn't mean to say. That wound up sitrring more problems which led us to here.
@spudracer13 well, there's always gonna be someone who hates theiur job, dale sr is a person who grew up racing dirt cars, from...hardly anything, and came into the sports before it got all PC and crap, in this video he's referring to the new aero package on how all the cars needed to fit a common template, and he was saying that "we can't adjust them, we can't make them drive like we want, they just killed the race at daytona"
@xmodssouth I'm offending you? Well you've pretty much offended me with all of your comments. I have the utmost respect for Earnhardt and everything he's done for NASCAR. The idea you had that I was making fun of him couldn't be any more wrong. In fact it just pisses me off. Everything he said that day was true. And maybe you didn't think that was funny as much as I did, whatever. Hopefully this all goes through your apparent thick skull, or else you'll be making this VERY personal.
@CatholicPriest1945 really, i belive richard childress stated that his last radio converstaion with dale during the red flag in the 01 500 ended up with dale saying that someone is gonna get killed the way their racing, i dont think he would say something like that if he didnt care about saftey
SR. may have been a prick, but dammit he was my driver and was no bullshit. Hell of a racer and he saw what was comming. Havent watched a full race since early 90's. I watched the race when Dale was killed and felt like I was sucker punched. That was literaly the last race I gave a shit about and havent since. Nascar is so boring with rest. plates, cookie cuter frames and bodies etc. Its all Hollywood bullshit now, but the France family is rich so who gives a shit.
iam a big earnhardt fan and no he would not have retired are guys crazy this earnhardt you are talking about!!!, but he you would be mad as hell!! with todays races they are getting boring as shit!! this is nascar please do not turn it into indy500 it is called bumping is racing and iam sorry but i like when somebody rattles there cage i mean if had the chance to do what they are doing iam sorry but if you are in my way to win the race iam going to put you in the wall!! and that is whtneed

They shouldn't had taken restrictor plates off if you ask me. Let 'em run WIDE OPEN! But then again, when they saw Bobby Allison's car was it?, almost go into the crowd, that's what scared 'em i think.
@ihavestage4coolness i always wondered that if they have a chip or something in the car they can control stuff in the cars now, im sure it sounds silly but u never know, they want it to sound silly so no one would believe they are doing it.
If Earnhardt were around today we wouldn't have the stupid Chase, they wouldn't have gone to the new COT (Which is now basically back to how it was in 2007) We wouldn't have had NASCAR making the drivers act like robots and DEI would still be a force to be reckoned with! Brian France would have more than he could muster with Dale Sr. around even not in the race car!
@kriegundfrieden he would have quit years ago. thing is, he was for satety improovements, a buddy of mine was at the 2001 500, with a scanner. sr came on the radio during the red flag after stewert flipped wildly on the backstretch, and he said "richard, they need to do somthing about these cars. one of these days sometime will get killed"
@kriegundfrieden he was for safety improovements, but i don't think he meant this far. not that i am aggainst the safer barriers, i love them, i just think that when improoveing things, you can go too far, it is alot safer though. people say mcdowell could have been killed. well, by comparison, that was just a barrell roll, compare that to ricky rudds tumble in the 1985 Busch Clash (now known as the budweiser shootout)
@Rcrby525 that was a full throttle impact at texas head on.. both that one and rudds roll are hard ass hits.. anything hitting concrete aboove 15 mph is gonna hurt like hell
@MrBillsexton82 stfu crying? man was one of the very best so maybe you shouldn't hate on the man cause if he was still here you wouldnt be able to say anything cause he would probally have 5-6 more championships

@BackRowRacing98 after the race at daytona this year, i'd rather have the tandem than a wreckfest pack race.

What a unsportsman like cry baby! Man up and deal with it! You get paid all that money to drive a race car. Quit complaining.
Thats what Kyle Busch haters would say if he said those exact same words.
