hi, i did everything u sed and closed the file, then opened it again to make sure the as.apple.com thing wasnt ther, and it wasnt. then i restored it, and the same 1013 error msg came up. i then opend the hosts file agen and the part that i deleted (gs.apple.com) came bak. i tried closing itunes and doing it and also i restartd the pc aswell after i saved it. but everytime i restore the error msg cums bak and the part tht you told me to delete keeps cumin bak. how do i fix this. plz helppp

The thing was. When i restored it. It came up with a frenchish word on the slide screen. and then. It went to emergency calls. I was worried it called 911 already LOL.

Then I guess i waited and it came back to original home page.

Thank you so much... took me a while.. If for anyone it might not work.. Avast may pop up asking for permission for changing the stuff on notepad.. MAKE SURE to click ALLOW if it does pop up. also if anyone has a problem with ticking the box's, when in properties, to to security, click advanced, then go to owner then click edit and then click administrator.. hope it works for yall... Do everything this guy said, but don't delete them. You will have one at the bottom that you will need to add the # pound sign in front of it like the others. This will fix your problem. Thanks you for uploading this video, it helped me out a lot.

@JakesChoiceTV If you have an iphone 3g or 3gs then your out of luck..usually 1013 means the baseband is corrupted on those phones but on the iphone 4 thats not the case.
