Okay I've seen a lot of S2000's with that digital gauge thing, is it possible to switch it out for normal gauges? Cause I'm getting an S2000 pretty soon.
@RQUARESMA7 you will prefer the digital tach once you drive it. i thought the same when i bought my s2000. with a car like the s2000 you really need to keep your eye on the revs to determine the best shift and launch points. it's all about the revs in the s2000 and with a reline of 8k-9k rpm what better way than with a huge bright rev counter. the s2000 cockpit is meant to give you that race car feel that's why it uses digital tach just like honda's F1 cars. sorry for sermon,bored at wrk.

@Schutzstaffel23 Not true, i own one. The AP1 (00-03) Revs to 9000. The AP2 (04+) revs to 8200. Only because they increased the displacement from a 2.0l to 2.2l. They raised the stroke which in turn reduced the rev count.

Ill use my gto as an example. Stock it has 400hp and revs to about 6700 because its got a huge 6.0 means it wont rev very high. Now take the New bmw M3. It has 4.0 v8 which makes 414hp because it revs to 8500rpms. just because you have bigger cylinders DOES NOT mean you will have more power.

not riced at all...s2k was built specially by Honda Racing, it was their millennium car in 2000. Does everyone need a new clarification of the term rice? It an s2000 with a bolt on turbo kit, not a civic with ebay wing and exhaust with a tissue box for an intake. You are using boost pressure as a basis for what the engine can take and what it cant, and there is no accurate relationship because 20psi on a GT28R is not the same as 20psi on a GT35R, instead you should of just said the F20 can take 500whp safely, this would be an accurate statement, not it can take 12-14psi....... understand?
I always wondered, how does the car handle at speeds above 120? In my vette it kept getting really light feeling at around 130mph and really sensitive to imperfections in the road, depending on the surface it got really squirley. Just wondering with that much power and speed in such a lightweight car, does it still feel at least a little solid?
Yeah I felt that when i drove high speeds on the track... it feels as if the entire car just got lighter and lifts off the road... very very sketchy first time you do it!! Steering is very sensitive and any small problem and you'll be spinning through the air worse than a football!
A lot of people are asking why he coasts the car while still at high speed - this short clip came from a much longer demonstration video. Among many things, he was also demonstrating noise levels are various RPMs and speeds, (with clutch engaged and not) to give a more complete picture of how this turbo setup responds plus the noise levels at various speeds and gears. It's not like he had no idea what he was doing. Clipping just this part out does make it seem odd indeed.

The reason why s2k is still fast with way less tq is because it's light. People like to blow the tq out of proportion because most are talking about American muscles who weights more and really needed the extra tq to be fast. Honda never has tq aside from their lux sedans in Acura branch which weights more and really needed it.

You are using boost pressure as a basis for what the engine can take and what it cant, and there is no accurate relationship because 20psi on a GT28R is not the same as 20psi on a GT35R, instead you should of just said the F20 can take 500whp safely, this would be an accurate statement, not it can take 12-14psi....... understand?

I always wondered, how does the car handle at speeds above 120? In my vette it kept getting really light feeling at around 130mph and really sensitive to imperfections in the road, depending on the surface it got really squirley. Just wondering with that much power and speed in such a lightweight car, does it still feel at least a little solid?

Yeah I felt that when i drove high speeds on the track... it feels as if the entire car just got lighter and lifts off the road... very very sketchy first time you do it!! Steering is very sensitive and any small problem and you'll be spinning through the air worse than a football!

A lot of people are asking why he coasts the car while still at high speed - this short clip came from a much longer demonstration video. Among many things, he was also demonstrating noise levels are various RPMs and speeds, (with clutch engaged and not) to give a more complete picture of how this turbo setup responds plus the noise levels at various speeds and gears. It's not like he had no idea what he was doing. Clipping just this part out does make it seem odd indeed.

The reason why s2k is still fast with way less tq is because it's light. People like to blow the tq out of proportion because most are talking about American muscles who weights more and really needed the extra tq to be fast. Honda never has tq aside from their lux sedans in Acura branch which weights more and really needed it.

HP= power and how fast your car could go
TQ= how fast you can get to top speed (or redline in each gear)
They don't support each other like
HP: Yo torque man, let's go!
TQ: alrite, alrite, I got you man!
The more tq you have, the less likely that road friction or weight of the car will bog down your acceleration.
But at some point, tq is not that important as less will be required once the car gets moving.
