  • awesome!!!

  • just come across your rendition here on youtube and it is so fabulous clear and well done, fabulous! :)

  • Hi Russ, it's Sean, (my dad is Lorne, from Man of la Mancha). I'm performing this song in a few weeks. Great job!

  • Hi Sean! It took me a while to get these lyrics down, but once they're there, it's hard to get them out of your head. Have fun with it!

I'm currently performing as an Elvis impersonator at the SST. I'm having a blast. Say hi to Mom and Dad for me.

  • you people try tocsound like perfecianals but you are idiots...of course its well sung...stupid people trying to be directors, im 12 and i know a good actor...and he's one so dont correct him you idiots.

  • Very nice--I understood every word!

  • Thanks very much audiatore!

  • what made the song so scary to sing?

  • I think the worst part was that I kept making mistakes in different parts of the song during the dress rehearsals, so it was starting to play with my mind. But it turns out I never made any mistakes during the whole run of the show after that.

  • "But still, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral

I am the very model of a modern Major-General"

haha that's so fun to sing. =D. That was really great! must have took you a while to memorize and perfect.

  • Thank you, russy67! Hats off to these community players! Great talent!

  • What play is this from?

  • This song is from the play "Pirates of Penzance." This particular production, however, was a 30th Anniversary Show for the Kempenfelt Community Players.

  • Well sung. Move around less.

  • Okay, I'll remember that for next time, which will be never! But thanks anyway!

  • Yeah! I really enjoyed that act! I've seen it in Miller Auditorium on Western Michigan University's campus once before, and I enjoyed it big time! You're very suitable for the general!

  • I have often wondered how anyone could sing that song. Congrats and keep on with it next year!

  • Thanks for the encouragement! I will never let this hobby die!

  • Great performance!

It IS a scary song! The tip I got was to keep reciting it every day everywhere and slowly increase the speed and keep breathing under control. Took me months to close to the "original" speed (D'Oyle Carte O.C style)

  • We should start a club for people who have performed this song. Every night, I never really felt like I knew it 100%. The other thing I've found is that after 3 months, all of the lyrics are still in my head.

  • Thank you very much! I'll be shooting some new "Sing & Play With Russ" episodes soon. I've been over at my other channel doing some of my other music.

  • Awesome! I couldn't remember the words to this song if my life depended on it! Great job!
