  • Garry Owen, Scouts Out!

  • I dig Corb Lund, but this sounds exactly like Stan Rogers - The Idiot

  • CORB BRING BACK THE SMALLS

  • i love the last verse of this song especially the last line "i wanna be in the cavalry but i wont ride home no more"

  • I don't know what's more dedicated: the song or the presentation. very patriotic song! I am honoured to have a grandfather which served in the cavalry as a Colonel. Man, I wish I knew him better...I heard so many epic stories of CAV men :)

  • Brave Rifles

  • This isnt bad! a great tribute to us scouts....Scouts is the best MOS in the army. No doubt bout it. *Scouts Out*

  • nice

  • IF YOU AIN'T CAV YOU AIN'T SHIT

  • @MagnumMantis CAV HOOAHH!!!!

  • THIS SHOULD BE THE CLEVELAND CAVS' ANTHEM!

  • SCOUTS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No homo.

  • I love Corb Lund.

  • Ladies, Ladies, settle down. I spent 9 years as 11B, a couple deployments including Iraq invasion. Cav pilot now, Kiowa of course, and have deployed twice as such. Watch the 11B's get shot up on objectives, and the engineer get blown up clearing IED's. Takes some balls either way. I'll always be a grunt at heart, as are most 58 drivers, plus it's a really fun gig. And at the end of the day, you gotta dig this song.

  • @joshuafalkan all of the combat jobs require a pair thats why apprecaited it while i want to do it i cant for a while and they stand up and say let me do it

  • Alright you children play nice....when you grow up maybe you can wear my stetson and spurs...2nd ACR Jan 1997 to March 2002, 2nd of the 14th Cavalry April 2002 to December 2005, Mosul, Tall Afar and Rawa. Purple Heart for Wounds in Combat 16 Feb 2005 Tall Afar, Iraq.

  • did anybody else find out about this song because of truck got stuck?

  • I'm shipping to Fort Benning in feb 2012. The Cav leads the way!

  • What a horse they have in this video! Looks like an Arabian. I wonder how they made it rear and kick like that. Horseflies, maybe?

  • @Qossackulu i imagine its a film horse that is specially trained to rear and kick on command...

  • @qopback Correction: Too bad the southern confederacy didnt EXIST by this time in the video. I'll make a estimation saying that this is around 1870-1890

  • @Gaurdsman221 Yea this is around the Indian wars period.

  • love it , my teacher whos the singers friend showed it to me :)

  • FIRST IN LAST OUT!

  • @nubie232 Yup Firefighters are!

  • @tsblanche what the hell are you talkin about firefighters aint shit never seen a firefighter do.............anything

  • @nubie232 Thats the Engineers.

  • @cf80to01

Negative pogue thats the cav baby!

  • @nubie232 No, in the Canadian Armed Forces that is the Engineers......Out.

  • @cf80to01 Pfff engineers are queers LOL never seen them out in front of anything except on the way to the dfac booooooooooom

  • @nubie232 Clearly we have a failure to communicate here......... Yes the Recce (armoured or infantry) guys are out front during the advance. "First in, Last out" is a common motto of the Engineers because they will be the first to clear routes or dead ground before a convoy moves or a set attack goes in. They will also be the last to leave as they will typically have numerous mines, IED's, etc to clear before rear echelon can move in. See how an argument works? Try using your big person words.

  • @cf80to01 Seeing how this has gone so far proves to me that you have never seen combat 19D's (scouts) are the first in and last out. sorry buddy but you are the rear. you want the motto you gotta earn it change your mos and be a real man.

  • Good Song, to bad the union uniforms are all wrong.

  • @VictoriaLynneJones Correction: too bad they're union uniforms, period. God blessed the south with the finest cavalrymen in the nation. Deo Vindice!

  • You Said It Jaromepimp

  • Damn straight. IF YOU AIN'T CAV, YOU AIN'T SHIT!!!

  • I blast this shit in the car lol feels like riding a horse but in a f-350 though...

  • Also look up FIDDLERS GREEN

  • Also look up FIDDLERS GREEN

  • whos the haters they must burn in hell

  • Man i have this one in my favorite songs :P

  • I hate country but this is catchy! Corb needs to do some collaborating with canadian hip-hop artists!!!

  • Finally someone who doesn't shy away from singing about the taboo subject of troops on the native frontier. Revisionist historians are always quick to judge.

  • I wanna be in the infantry if they send me off to war. I wanna lead the way so follow me straight to the enemy...... Hope to become a Ranger when i join the army next year!!!!

  • Beautiful song!

  • Yeah, 19D does it all! They played this at our Cav Ball. Awesome song.

  • This song also makes me think of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

  • itd be cooler if they were Confererates, but Yanks or Rebs this is an awesome song!

  • 1st Cavalry Division Cavalry Scout Like a Boss.

  • thye should play this on rememence day!

  • "...a saber keen and a sadle carbine and a army remington.." what more do you need?

  • come back? No Cheyenne, Sioux, Aprapaho come back? Maybe they got better things to do. But by all accounts they were all pretty damn good at war on horseback.

  • @Glenn2B you forgot the comanche and the only way we broke them was the in paldo duro when we shot all there horses and killing all the bufflo thats the only way we broke them

  • @tjlyons10 What the US Gov. and the Armed forces did to the people of the West AND the east was fucking genocide, man.

  • to all wanna be cav scouts! Remember that Cavalry is a state of mind! NOBODY, in their right mind wants to go out front to find the enemy. You need to be mentally unstable.

    Retired 19D3FZ1

  • @greyghost1861 hell Top ain't we all just not right. I've yet to see a truly sane man sign up for what we do. The quote from the Patriot comes to mind "These are not the sort of men we need." "These are exactly the sort we need. They have fought this kind of war before." "Am I that sort?" "No you are the sort that gives that sort a bad name."

  • @Nomad47A shoot, your name Nomad says a lot about you. Loner, out looking for something, making your own way, Anyway, Thanks for serving. we always need some more people who are unstable to serve in this MOS.

  • @greyghost1861 lol Top I spent over 9 years as a Scout with 2nd ACR and with 2-14 Cav from 1997 to the end of 2005 I don't know a single guy who was truly stable in that whole time. We are all a little bit off. I've got 3 tours now and I'm fixing to volunteer for a 4th combat tour.

  • @Nomad47A my 1st tour in germany was with B Trp 1/2 Cav (1973-1975) problem was that at that time my MOS was 11D. we were still Scouts and our job was the same except maybe the vehicles. That did a lot of changing over 20 years. Again, Thank You for Serving and thank the guys you work with too.

  • i ship 17 jan 2012 to BCT at ft benning to be in the cavalry 19d if you ain't cav you ain't shit

  • @SupremeSaenz You are still a civvie. Once you have earned your right to walk the walk......THEN you can talk the talk. Until then, go back to selling fries and playing COD.

  • @SupremeSaenz you aint cav yet.

  • @SupremeSaenz

    Souts Out!!!

Meet you one day @ Fiddler's Green

  • @HedonisticHippie remember to empty the canteen (i am not a cav scout my brother is and hes a got a wood carving of the poem i have great respect for you guys and all service members)

  • cant wait to be a cavalry scout

  • RECON!!!! 19D is more than a job, it's a way of life!!

  • I plan on joining up and trying to become a Helo pilot. I'd blast this shit through the comms on an operation.

  • @cfgMC u know that wouldnt be cavalry then??

  • @88nomnomnom Would still be cool though. On an "iron horse" per say

  • that wouldnt be cavalry then??

  • @cfgMC Well you can't just join as a pilot you work your way there because you have to be a WO1 which takes awhile to get and you would probably get your ass chewed out plus your not Cavalry if your a pilot. You are just a horse pretty much. The infantryman who ride in your cargo are the Cavalry.

  • @HalfEatenCookie1793 actually you can. And I'm pretty close friends with a cpl hundred stetson wearing steel slinging bringers of death and destruction that would also disagree with your comment about pilots not being cav.

  • @HalfEatenCookie1793 here is the thing buddy the infantry aint even the cavalry. why dont you do some research. The true CAVALRY are 19Delta's cock munch. We are the ones that go out in front of every element in the army to scout out and even take on larger forces than what we have. CAV SCOUT is the ONLY WAY. OUT FRONT

  • @SuperFreakyDeath my bros a cav scout in iraq right now in new dawn

  • @SuperFreakyDeath the phrase is "scout's out"

  • @SuperFreakyDeath so the modern day cavalry are the army rangers??

  • Comment removed

  • well i disagree wth it beingthe only way but i still respect all combat arms. death before dismount 19 series.

  • @11cUSarmy Something tells me you haven't been in very long.. Death before dismount is an insult against the cavalry. The term you were looking for is Death before dishonour.

  • @godopeach90 obviously you have no idea,,,,cause the originally phrase is "Death before Dismount" meaning the Cavalry Trooper would die before leaving his horse.... Death before Dishonor is the meaning behind the red over white guidon

  • @HalfEatenCookie1793 You're looking at it too technically, helicopters and pilots are referred to as Air Cavalry. (especially gunships)

  • 19D scouts out!

  • I remember corb playing this live for a radio station near me, he said the band wanted to meet more women so they wrote an album about military history. lmao.

  • what album is this from

  • A Thank You for serving to all the Scouts that are now serving or did their time earlier.

    "SCOUTS OUT"

    retired, 19D3fZ1, '72 to '92

  • 34 people wanna b justin beiber fans...

  • 1/6 Hooah Gary Owen!

  • 1-71 Cav. god bless all scouts see you at fiddlers green

  • If rucking up some fucking hills is what your worried about you aint no scout. We did 5 in the pouring kentucky rain no fallouts. Osut isnt hard. Shit, women can do it. A fucking spur ride is where that shit gets rough. Or air assault school. Osut is nothing.

  • Im a cav scout in the us army in a cav unit. We deploy in 4 days to the sandbox and EVERYBODY has this song on their ipods. I fuckin love it.

  • parts of this video was shot on my neighbors property

  • this song is awesome and just listing to it makes me wish i could go to basic sooner and but i have to wait. 19D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cavalry Scout

  • 11 Bangers til I die, im stuck in a CAV unit, ive never seen ate up like the CAV but this song makes it alright. RECON DAMNIT!

  • @ldavalos89 That's cool man I want to join the CAV I'm studying for my ASVAB but I already know that I want to be a scout. I heard climbing the 3 hills are a bitch is that true?.

  • @xspartanX3x hey take it from a scout thats deployed right now those hills are a bitch but basic for scouts isnt at knox anymore its at benning but its a badass job

  • @xspartanX3x no more 3 hills and no they werent that bad its all hype

  • Great song by a great musician, You should hear my three year old sing along, then burst out laughing when she hits "by God you'll see my starch!"

  • I just discovered Corb a couple days ago and am blown away by the fresh, honest sound. I am SO tired of today's "country music," and I refuse to listen to it. But low and behold some boys up in Alberta have been cranking out great music for several years now. Corb and his band are great! I HOPE they're as popular in Canada as they truly deserve to be. Unfortunately I doubt they'll get much air time here in the US, so I just purchased three of their CDs so I can listen to GOOD country music!

  • @ORflycaster tired of "country music"? well try listnin to a bit of texas/red dirt country, its the real shit dude, Corbs not the only one makin good music lol Jason boland, Stoney larue, Brandon Jenkins, Randy Rogers Band, Chris Knight just to name a few, hope this helps

  • Did anyone other than me notice the famous "Black Jack" the Riderless horse who was seen in JFK's funeral?

  • @buukittyfilms Amazing song by the way <3

  • if i could maybe someday write a song like this, id die a happy man.

  • Comment removed

  • maybe his ancestory is like many of us that had family on both sides of the civil war.

  • i love the last verse

Let 'em play their flutes and stirrup my boots and place them back to front

Cause I won’t be back on the rider-less black and I'm finished in my hunt

I wanna be in the cavalry if they send me off to war

I wanna be in the cavalry, but I won't ride home no more

  • Why is he wearin yankee blue?

  • @BLUTundGermany

    Because he's Canadian.

  • @BLUTundGermany Do you know anything about the Cav uniform or the history there-of for the uniform.. You need to do some research..

  • @BLUTundGermany He likes winning.

  • @simoniniraq

    haha well played!

  • 1-13 cav

  • Just finished my Spur Ride yesterday...... someone bless their soul put this song into the music mix- first I'd ever heard it and had to find it. 7 years and two sets of gold after joining the Cavalry, I finally got my silvers.

  • this song, as dark a the ending is, does remind me of one important point: I was born way too late for this....

  • the drummer in this video, brady is my second cousin i think or third cant remember but anyway hes a great musician, last time i seen him was at uncle howards funereal RIP Uncle Howard

  • GARRYOWEN!!!

  • My ex girlfriend was in the cavalry. She rode pretty fast, according to the sergeant. :V

  • @redreaper2020 I bet she did

    LOL

  • So very tempted to parody this for the infantry.

    So very, very tempted.

  • @tweedlebeetles please do it!!!!

    ]

  • LdSH (RC) Recce

  • you sing like our young canadians think but as a parent i dont want my sons over there

    \

  • adf

  • @waston The whole album is supposed to be ironic, look up the last track of this album on youtube: "I Wanna Be In The Cavalry (Reprise) "

Also, the name of the album is "horse soldier! horse soldier" (say it twice fast)

  • This song is so damn catchy. :P I literally play it continuously... auto replay for the win :)

  • bhooorrrrraaaa 1st cav 1st team the best!

  • good canadian boy

  • They may be dressed like yankees, but I am impressed. You don't find talent like this often...

  • @XConfederateSoldierX They are also Canadian.

  • @ImpulseFreedom Yeah, but they're also Albertan. Let's face it, Alberta is culturally similar to America's South. It's not called Canada's Texas for nothing.

  • @AttilathePun92 We are not THAT Red neck. Close, but not quite.

  • @Potts132 in that case...i wanna come visit :o

  • @XConfederateSoldierX I think this is set during the Indian Wars.

  • @TheSouthernGentleman The uniforms do seem to date, don't they?

  • @XConfederateSoldierX Indeed, The US Army did not really change there uniforms until the Spanish American war. At that point they went to a sort of brown-khaki color. The uniforms during the Indian Wars were exactly the same as during the *cough* Civil War.

  • actually, they were not. New regulations for the uniforms were introduced in 1872, that totally revamped the uniform; the tunics had a totally new cut, among other things. you can compare Pictures of Myles Keogh from the Civil war with pictures of him from the 1870's (he was killed at Little Bighorn)-the differences become obvious.

of course, they still have essentially blue coats with sky blue pants. but I wouldn't call it "exactly the same". far from it.

  • @Albukhshi Ah, sorry. My mistake.

  • @TheSouthernGentleman

no need to be sorry :)

it's a common one, and understandable. considering both the civil war uniform wear blue tunics and sky blue pants, the confusion is easy to happen.

  • @XConfederateSoldierX You just cant get over not having slaves. Just kidding dude.

  • @Snoopyfan1000 LOL. Ever heard of a sore winner? Just kidding lol. Good to see someone with a good sense of humour.

  • @XConfederateSoldierX Thanks. You too.

  • @XConfederateSoldierX

    amen....

  • @XConfederateSoldierX It IS much better to keep black people enslaved than to wear blue, isn't it *rolls eyes*

  • @m0nkEz Well, to be honest, no it's really not. Slavery was an abomination that was only around due to a lack of agricultural technology. Or in other words, harvesters and tractors haven't been around as long as you think they have. Slavery was a horrible institution, but it was essential to the Southron economy at the time. There was no other way to harvest crops, than through hard, manual labor. Given time for farm equipment to evolve, slavery would have died out, one way or another.

  • @XConfederateSoldierX It wasn't essential to the economy, is was essential to the greed of the plantation owners, they could have gotten by paying people for their work (after all, that's how we harvest fruit like apples and oranges), instead they owned other people and made them do hard labor with no compensation other than meager rations. Yes, I realize that not all slave owners were that bad, but from what I understand most plantation owners did.

  • @m0nkEz Yes it WAS essential to the economy. if there WERE jobs, they were in agriculture. If all the jobs disappeared, you get the problem that modern day America is in. Yes, there were alternatives, but the world was a MUCH different place than is. Not many people thought as abolitionists did. Lincoln himself said he was never in favor of bringing about the social or political equality of the white and black man.

  • @m0nkEz no you have 5 person family 100 acres of cotton to pick it wouldnt happen why i agree slavery was horrible it was needed for them to survive and when the north said no thats why they left learn your history

  • United States Army 3rd Brigade 2nd Division 1/14 Cavalry- Our horses got traded in for Strykers-11B Infantryman who signed the imminent danger and unit of action papers at enlistment and got sent to the Cav and earned my C.I.B. and Combat Spurs with The Best of the Best- NO REGRETS-Great Song!

  • how old is this song lol i forgot

  • Well, if you ain't Cav, you ain't! Brave Rifles! really enjoyed the tune and spirit of the music.

  • Cavalry leads the way.

  • I am a proud cav mom!!!

  • what happened at ending

  • get on the horse if you want to be in the calvary

  • Corb Lund is one of my favorite artists. the fact that he is not only a Canadian but an Albertan makes it just that much better!

  • Two MOS's- Cav and everyone else.

  • 32 people don't know good country music. Shame, as this is awesome!

  • I don't care that he is 20 years my senior, Corb is sex on a stick.<3

  • yeeeHAW!

  • Why would it be a PPCLI song? He says in it he wouldn't make a good foot soldier. It should be a Strathcona song. In fact it's played at the Mounted Troop shows.

  • i noticed this was a little out of sync

  • should be a princess patricia song

  • Ah but trekfuel781, You must find the poem about Fiddlers Green to understand why the "Cav" claims it. You can find the place halfway down the trail to H___ and you only have to empty your canteen to get there! RECON!!

  • princesss pats rule

  • 31 people joined the Infantry.

  • @HurdleTHIS LOL!

  • @HurdleTHIS

Infantry runs the world. Cav just hangs out and looks pretty.

  • @RaiderDoc Might as well been a marine, brainless rifle man.

  • @RaiderDoc In 1950 maybe. The airforce run the show now.

  • For the 10 Texas Field Battery -Pratt's Battery -Parson Brigade & Joe Shelby's Iron Brigade.
