  • korns new songs to me are a new rendition to industrial music that sounds much better than traditional shit industrial music.

  • whats sad is this guy probably didn't listen to the whole song : [ listen to the wordsjerkoff. also, electronic dance music. egghead.

  • rock doesnt need to be saved, has ben here for ages and will be here for ages, the rest are just trendy styles that dont last long.

  • You sir hurt my brain!

  • the doors are the my fav band

  • Uh. No. Electronic will not fucking save rock. Are you kidding me? How the hell is this dubshit going to bring back an actual good genre?

  • Jim Morrison is rolling in his grave??! yet in the song "breakn a sweat" from a prior interview he mentions how the future of music would be in a form of producing music through electronics,Listen to the whole song before making such a dumbass assessment btw if you look at the documentary you will notice that the actual band members of the doors work with skrillex.

  • Idiotic topics like this only help rock die...

pick up a fucking instrument and stop making these stupid videos if you actually want to help.

  • Why does a genre need to be more popular to be more enjoyable?

  • Yes it will be used to introduce all sorts of people to all sorts of music not just rock and roll. i love everything so i love when bands and artists mix things and genres together

  • The Electronic Music can be a powerful tool to introduce some freshness and can do interesting things with rock music. Dubstep is not the only kind of music related with electronic music.

  • Jim Morrison didn't kill himself

  • @Mr11MUSICMAN No one knows that.

  • @usernamebada42 .....true

  • No electronica can not save rock n roll, as rock and electronica is not rock n roll, it's rock and electronica...

  • Skrillex sucks horse dick

    but Pendulum and Squarepusher rock

  • @gogolplex74 u dont no wat ur talkin about

  • @hedwig4023 you can't spell

  • i have size 12 at 13 yearz old....

    meh to dubstep

    i like da deadmau5

  • Electronic music is amazing. In general though in it's defense, Skrillex is dubstep, so they're more hi-fi than electronic in general.

  • Okay now I've listened to the doors collab... and I don't like it. But some of skrillex's other stuff is really good. I wouldn't answer the question based on that tune as it's muck. He has some other much better tunes.

  • I'm well impressed with Skrillex and I'm a Megadeth fan for 22 years. Horses for courses I guess. Will it rejuvenate rock? ...Maybe the poison will be the cure.

  • Save Rock from what? its not dead -_-

  • i say no

electronic music could definitaly make rock music more popular. BUT WHO WANTS THAT. remember how popular rock music was in the 80's and it got so cheesy and stupid until GNR whooped rock n roll in its ass and got that gritty feel back in music.BUT THEN GNR GOT REALLY POPULAR and it started to really suck.

i like rock being more of an underground thing. people dont know shit about music these days and artists know that.

  • @PoscharskyMusic of cource thats not wrong...its just wrong when dubstep has sex with rock and metal...

  • Top comments have nothing to do with this vid. NEways I think its ok to incorporate a bit of electronic sounds into your song it does make for a unique sound if you dont overdo it. Most artists do though. Im a fan of LIVE music and like bands that play their own instruments and the singers voice is real not synthesized or autotuned. The world felt SO cheated when they found out Ashley Simpson lip syncs O.o no I didnt Yes I did! haha so y r people eating this new genre up?

  • With an "artist" like skrillex, rock is doomed.

  • Anison with rock music or good hip hop with rock music sounds better to me than Dubstep with rock, for many reasons.

  • Yeah, isn't good at all. In my opinion, it doesn't sound good either. It sounds cheesy, processed, & it is extremely unoriginal. From a technical standpoint. Music altogether is kind of dying, since everybody seems apathetic to the quality of music & genres. It's depressing as hell, but it's just gotta happen. Maybe something better will come out of it.

  • We sold our soul for Rock n Roll. not dubstep.

  • @gothhead90

the title says electronic music, I don't see dubstep anywhere up there.....

  • @rpapi12 exactly.

  • an austrian band says in theyr lyrics "if you like something, don't think about it, just dance to it"

it doesn't matter if there is electronic music in rock music. it would be electronic rock. which is just one of thousands genres.

    rock'n'roll won't die anyway

  • Also im kinda curious how you feel about the Rocket Juice and the Moon stuff

  • We have a name for people who haven't listened The Doors

    They're called Communists

  • no... no it isnt

  • Dubstep is the new rock and roll

  • Woot??? Korn!?! Sick!!!

  • its good for the doors give them new fan base for the dubstep fans

  • electronic is bad. its terrible, and rock and roll will crush it. rock and roll will NEVER die, as long as kids are pissed off, rock CANT die. fuck dub step, fuck electronica. long live rock and roll.

  • no it won't save rock and roll cause personally i don't think rock music need to be saved from anything who wants to listen to it it's cool and who doesn't it's cool too

  • naw its just a fad its all gonna come back on its own eventually

  • for those who aren't sure that electronic music will save rock and roll, I must say that I'm not a big fan, but when considering computer generated music's role in rock and roll, look no further than Nine Inch Nails. Nuff said. they are a great band. they are rock. and they are somewhat electronic. maybe electro might help the industry.

  • I think all the douche bags that like dubstep would (if dubstep didn't exist) probably be listening to rap or hip hop. So yes, I think this is a great alternative. I appreciate electronic music. Although, it will probably be over-commercialized and (to be blunt) raped by the music industry... So enjoy it while it lasts. As far as dubstep helping rock music, the answer IMHO is no. The douche bags (previously mentioned) will most likely not support rock bands, even if they do collaborate.

  • pop is´nt really a genre, it means overall "popular music", so yes, the most popular music is popular music.

  • GRAY HAIR???

  • I mean, maybe it'll work. But I have a hard time believing that many people who like the Skrillex/Doors "collaboration" would actually like The Doors' music. Kanye sampling Steely Dan didn't create a whole generation of 70s jazz-rock fans. I could bring up countless other examples of hip-hop artists sampling older bands from different genres, just like Skrillex did with The Doors, and none of those instances made a noticeable difference.

  • im a great fan of rock, metal, alternative but i also love dubstep my friend was getting an ipod and he wanted me to make a list of music and i made a huge list problem is the list was full of trance, electronic, dubstep, house music whatever you wanna call it but no rock that obviously shows that rock is dying we need more people to like it again

  • I don't think Rock n' roll will ever need to be "saved". t'll always be around for those who will listen and more poppy electronic music is more there for the time being. That being said Dubstep is just fun music to listen to and an entirely different outlet/craft for musicians. Skrillex has even played with the idea of his music being cast down by critics and fan of strictly guitar-driven music in a song of his. Electronic music has more of the option to "sample" bits so yes it could help a lil

  • Music evolves, People, get it.

  • son of a bitch :.(

  • Fuck no , Korn was a major exception on electro music , but other never! Cant stand band , who try to mix rock with electro, it is something like drinking beer with milk..

  • Rock and mixed with someone like Skrillex no I mean the songs he did with Korn are alright but what he did to the Doors is unforgivable

But say it mixed with The Chemical Brother,Fatboy slim or crystal method I don't think it would be that bad.

  • People seem to be thinking Rock & Roll is dead, I really don't think so... So yeah pop and electronic are more popular, but honestly Rock music was never the most popular genre (maybe except early 70s, with prog and hard rock, but that's really it- and even then pop was more popular). So yeah Rock is always popular, but not the most.

  • @mioluce 80 metal was crazy popular metallica was one of the biggest live performing bands in the 80s to mid 90s rock is slowly losing popularity because all these kids rather listen to people talk about money woman and drugs than actually learn/listen to music that takes talent

  • @Mvsteryyy Wasn't glam metal hugely popular in the 80s? Or dance pop? Weren't there any songs about drugs, is that a new thing? There were plenty of stupid ass prarty and pop songs in the 80s and 90s. Point is it's the same as it's always been. There's shit and there isn't shit. In the end rock is pop (at least rock & roll or mainstream rock y'know). It's not like popular music in general has changed much, which is sad.

  • @mioluce glam was pretty good if you found the right bands and yes while there were drug songs back then they were made into a story ie Master of puppets, Dr Feelgood.

  • @Mvsteryyy ok I disagree on the fact that glam was good at all, but I think we can both agree that it was essentially pop music. Sure there were guitars and distortion, but it verse chorus verse and hooks. And also it's not like all hip-hop is like YEAH DRUGS AHHHHH. Some of the drug songs are very dark and demented and smart.

  • NOOOOOOO! rock itself should be just rock! not something mixed up with some crappy music!

  • Ask KoRn what influenced them through their music and career.

  • Rock isn't popular anymore because there's no such thing as a good, original, popular rock band anymore.

  • @BloodyPaperclip the black keys ?

  • QOTD: No. No. No. Even skrillex is a good example, he played post hardcore before he was skrillex

  • ask korn if theyll tour with skrillex sometime next year

  • im sorry but the thumbnail for this video just made me cringe

  • it could save rock... depends

  • ask korn if they're gonna be doing more dubstep

  • i dont understand the title can electronic music save rock? last i checked (was 5 minutes ago) rock is doing just fine its not like fans are dying or moving over to other genre`s rock is probaly the music genre with most genre and sub genre`s its soo wide that its impossible that rock will needed to be saved.

  • @lordifandk Did you see the line-up for Rock In Rio? Most the bands were Pop.

  • @TreverUndeadXpdX did you see the line up last years wacken festival or this years soniphere festival or 2009 roskilde festival awesome rock bands but one thing at least in my country i have noticed is that many people starts listen to almost every music genre there is including rock

  • Rock/Metal is still very popular - many festivals in the UK have a massive amount of fans (paying alot of money too)

what is 'popular' ....many younger folk pay the cash to buy the CDs and push it through the charts, I love Rap with Rock when its done well (Judgment Night soundtrack) and I like many types of music including DupStep, I guess its not a matter of saving but a matter of does it work well. Good question.

and I've been warming to one of the Korn tracks and yet I hated it at first.

  • mmmmmmmmmmm

  • ew, dont let dubstep ruin this

  • Sami! check out the band Courage My Love! they are awesome!!!

  • Electronic, Dubstep, or whatever will not help Rock. Technology itself will help preserve Rock though. E.g. File sharing, Wikipedia footprints, Youtube reuploads of classic rock

Rock is universal and has laid it's footsteps for artists today.

I personally can't get into Skrillex. Crystal Castles is more Rock than him.

  • Electronic music save rock? It's the bane of the universe why would it save rock?

  • Only great rock bands can make rock more popular long term. Samples may lead a few curious listeners to explore the original music. But a genre cannot survive merely as a paracite of another genres success. Rock has always had waves of mainstream popularity, another will come by soon enough as soon as the bands improve.

  • Yes, it can technically "save" rock, but I don't want dubstep to become a part of rock. It can be in a few songs, but the core must still be, well, rock n' roll.

  • BJORK

  • save ROCK?? ROCK won't die!

  • dub step will be dead before we know it and then onto the next thing, rock doesn't need to be saved, just cherished. fuck pop.

  • Was I the only laughing when he said replace lulul with TH1rt3en?

  • in order to judge dubstep you must 1st go see a good dj play it live with a good soundsystem and party your ass of... then let me know your opinion about it

  • people listen to electronic, pop, and (fake) hip hop

just for:being ignorant, they hear it on the radio and think it's good,

and what's hip and cool on music now is sex, drugs, party,

money, all unnecessary bullshit that everyone is hooked on.

  • Also, I found a way to incorporate dubstep and amp feedback. Yeah, we are going to be big... Bipolar rock is coming to a store near you. Not trying to promote myself or band, just the ideology. Grunge 2.0. Manic rock.

  • What happened to rock for a purpose? The rebellious attitude? Rock with depth? Was Cobain really the last rock star? As much as I hate to admit it, he very well could have been. Shit just sucks now.

  • mm, sonny moore:')

  • This separation of genres rock VS electronic is so outdated and irrelevant. There have been crossovers since ..the 70's. Look at industrial and so many others. Dubstep, especially in it's present state as presented by Skrillex is much closer to rock and metal in the energy it transmits, rather than dance club oriented music it used to be. Finally, the 'wobble thing' is really nothing new and exists since Hendrix. Check out my Voodoo child cover on my profile, dont want to spam w/ video again...

  • The only person thus far that has done rock justice is Bassnectar. If you listen to his Deftones-Prince Remix, and are not satisfied you are crazy. Sick sick sick song!

  • Just when I thought Damon stopped coming up with new bands... good one, Damon :)

  • Oh my f*cking god, I just noticed the metallica drawing on the wall is the cover of death magnetic, not a pair of pants!!!!

  • skrillex is dubstep bro long live slipknot

  • skrillex is dubstep bro

  • Yesssssss, if yall miss the white stripe, the Kill will be there for yall.

  • WE HAVE THE SAME SANDALS!

  • Electro needs to stay where its been, in the rock genre. That is, as remixes, bonus tracks, or specifically remixed albums as a whole. Linkin Park did this years ago, with Reanimation....altho sum of that was more hip hop influenced. Great remix album overall btw.Gorillaz also do it with a few of their projects. Otherwise, we just end up throwing rock music as a whole into a mashup genre of sorts. However.with electronic music finally on the rise stateside, n rock hits declining......who knows.

  • as long that it dosent overtake or replace rock we can actually use electronic music just like korn did to bring extra fans now lets think about it there are what you said 65 000 people who listend to the track most was cause skrillex was involved lets say 20 000 came cause of skrillex out of those 20 000 a leas of 5 000 decide to listen to other korn tracks they like it become fans and boom korn gets more fan we cant be saved by electro but we could surely use it as an ally lol ;)

  • I think electronic music can be in rock, just as long as it doesn't overtake all of the REAL instruments in the song. maybe a few beeps and boops here and there, and some other shiz, but that's it!

  • Dubstep is the worst genre ever no joke but it sucks ass

  • The answer is no. Only Rock can save Roll.

  • ask korn, where they got the idea for making a full length dubstep albulm

  • there may not be as many rock fans the fans rock do have are dedicated and amazing, this is what will keep rock going, the live performances are the best and the music means the most to fans

  • Sami, can you ask the lead singer of Korn to do the beat boxing thing he dose in the song "Freak On A Leash"!? :)

  • ask them what made them put dub-step in their music?

  • FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK no

  • ha its reasonably hot in england surprisingly

  • Electrionic music already came together with rock music. Look how many people know attack attack, asking alexandria, we came as romans, and woe is me

  • He didn't really "kill himself"....but he sort of did. He overdosed on Heroin because he needed to numb his pain out because in the Bar downstairs he got into a big fight and needed to calm down. Jim Morrison has his ideals of "excess is what makes us free"....which in the end killed him.

  • DOWN WITH POP!!!!! when pop is gone, metal will be appreciated. Oh btw, ask korn if they're going to do any tours with brian head welch anytime soon.

  • I live in Iceland and the snow hasn't come yet !

  • HE RAPED THE DOORS!

  • I think people ar forgetting how well folk is doing now. West london is killing it right now with all the artist they are putting out.

  • There's nothing better than having an organic sound.

  • If the majority of people today accept dubstep as a leading genre of modern music... then metal bands should really get there act together!! To prove that human emotions will always rise higher then computers... oh f*ck! Robots are already taking over the world!! :((

  • Come On Baby Light My Fire is sung by Ray Manzerick, he sang to finish the tour after Jim died. Jim probably actually pretty happy.

  • im not really sure that rock needs saving, i think that the fact that its less popular than pop is what makes it unique. but rock music seems to be the genre that is most about the music. i mean take a pop song, how many instruments can you hear? all there is is some random beat made by some nerd at the computer... i consider rock and other music wich envolves real musically creativity respectable and pop and electronic music not

  • And I thought they couldn't call it the doors any more, but that's probably just me

  • I don't think it's good for rock 'n roll, I think it's just taking over rock. and now rock bands are changing because of all those genres.

I think it's really sad that MEMBERS of the Doors are even participating to this... The Doors mean the world to me, and it made me just sad to hear the track. I don't think John participated to this, he's like the only member that's true to the band called The Doors.

  • electric music is shit!!!!! rock and roll, metal, heavy heavy metal, screaming are awesome!!! they are proper music!!! electrical music is just popular coz people arnt interested in good riffs and solos any more coz they're to fucking dumb!! and its so simple to make djs come up with them easy! but if u listen to rock and roll and metal etc it means something the bands have put time and effort into making the music its hard to make songs that are 4 minutes long! so i think metal will come bck!!

  • I think it gives a certain level of popularity back to rock. I don't think it should overshadow rock, at least not completely. There are a plethora of genres out there and even if I don't like them there are those who do. To preserve the arts you need all kinds even if it's pop, electronic, hybrid genres or country. It's part of the beauty of music and the masses.

  • I love all kinds of rock music but I also love dubstep. Dubstep is the rock and roll of electronic music, they even have moshpits at dubstep partys

  • @foqual2012 if dubstep is the rock n roll of electronic music... whats the rock n roll of rock n roll... 0.o

  • @xXTS95Xx Rock and Roll is still Rock and Roll.

  • @holyswordsmanoffaith of course it is... but dubstep is a subgenre wich means that a subgenre of rock n roll must be the rock n roll of rock n roll, xD :D nah im just joking x)

  • Korn are sellouts, weren't popular as a metal band so went main stream. Harsh.... But true

  • @Bearskickass976 Korn has never been metal actually

  • @HittokiriBattousai17 ok, whatever they are, their not mainstream

  • @Bearskickass976 More like alternative shit

  • I think it is... I mean what korn is doing i think is good for rock.. i think a lot of dubstep drops exposed with a lot of electric guitar would be freakin amazing,, if people fused them together the right way it could bring rock and roll back... in a way. I don't know why so many rockheads hate dubstep.

  • When dubstep and electronic artists start making rock albums, not rock artist electronic - then it will be saved, and it's the only way...

  • Listening to a 24 hour song because I have no life :)

  • Dubstep is easy. I do dubstep on fucking garageband

I still believe in Rock Supremacy!

  • NO.

  • By the way to me it sounds like Ray Manzarek singing.

  • I first got into the doors through the snoop dogg remix of riders on the storm on need for speed underground 2, so I guess popular music can be good for rock. However I really don't think rock needs to be saved, thats why we have indie! Just got to look beyond the charts and all the crap repetitive inde music, and I really dont give a damn what others listen to.

  • Rock will always be my favourite genre, hands down. And I like electronic/dubstep. But the 2 together, idk, I think it could work, but it's going to need more refining. Break a Sweat wasn't that great IMO, and it didn't do much for rock. It really only sounded like a typical Skrillex song, just not a very good one. Maybe in time, dubstep will help rock. I don't really care how it happens, as long as rock becomes what it once was.

  • I don't think that it will make a lot of fans migrate, most people will just listen to it and not know who the fuck it is being sampled.

In general I hate sampling, cause a lot of times it just ruins and takes apart the original song. Like Gerry Rafferty's 'Baker Street', heard it sampled so many times, but all you get is the simplified sax riff, no Gerry Rafferty, no melogy, no song structure and no guitar solo.

It won't save rock 'n' roll, cause it's not rock 'n' roll, simple as that.

  • I like dubstep and rock and roll , not necessarily together....

  • I think it's good for it, but not in the way you're saying. I think people will get sick of listening to computers play some programming and slowly but surely rock and roll will purify itself, moving away from what's popular now and because the raw emotion that makes it what it is.

  • I would not say Rock needs saving, nor would electronic music be that. But adding a new touch is usually a good thing.

  • only huge bands can save rock..like Green Day.they should make an album with songs like When i come around Burnout and stuff like that.Foo Fighters can help by making a pure grunge album. And Weezer could help us,too with another grunge album..all this great bands should do something..

  • Comment removed

  • 1) why you didn't mention the released of Asking Alexandria new album! Step up and scratched ! It's a remix dubstep of their songs by other artist you should check it out

    2) true, pure rock and roll is no longer popular among us but, the variety of types of rock music born because of our pioneers, therefore there is going to be an era that rock and elctro will be another sub genre of rock as it is now like post-hardcore ... As long we keep a message of who we are and why we do what we do, it's

  • I've got a question for Korn!

Why the fuck do you suck now?

  • No. simply no. :)

  • Well you knwo what they say about men with big feet....

  • @Elsoddo big socks

  • Dubstep and metal is badass...if they do it right. Korn did it right.

  • I think it can, but Im not happy about it. even though I like electronic music, rocknroll should be able to become popular by itself again because it is the best freaking genre of music !

  • Korn-step

  • the only thing that can sae rock and roll is rock and fucking roll

  • Dubstep is like cancer for music

  • global warming my ass!!!

  • ok I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE skrillex fan but i didnt like the song. if yall want a good song by skrillex listen to Fucking Die 2 (Cooper Mix) the first one is more dubstepish

  • Korn is getting a whole new CROP of fans... ICWUTUDIDTHERE

  • One word:Gorillaz

  • 2:03 WTF t+did you just say??? :)

  • For ur question it depends. Yes it expose rock and roll to a new generation. But if you think about it, borrowing sounds wasn't the thing that made it big. Sure it was blues influenced but the raw power and the creativity was the key power. Ex. Hendrix.

Rock and roll needs a new sound or a generation of key players that will bring something fresh, powerful and represents freedom.

  • im not gonna be a total close minded douche and say dat it can't save rock and roll but... FUK! we r seriusly resorting to this shit now? i mean ya sometimes i cn put up with it (Asking Alexandria) but how much mst the genre lose in its uniqueness to stay on top? what ever happened to playin to express yourself, not playin to be number 1?

  • Question: "CAN ELECTRONIC MUSIC SAVE ROCK?"

Answer: No. Rock music has to be real not a bunch of electronic crap

  • keep an open mind lol. yes, sammy, anything that promotes rock is good. Unless it's paris hilton. no thank you.

  • All I have to say is Kid A. Your arguments are invalid.

  • I live in sweden and I won't see snow for weeks...
