Actually flat beat was released in 1999 by mr oizo, but the puppet idea came about in 1997 for his single m-seq and the music video

i love this little commercial. i first discovered it in college. a friend of mine had a puppet that looked simliar to that one, and they drove around winston-salem with him scrunched down in his seat, working the puppet. a car full of thug g's rolled up next to us and busted out laughing.
