  • would like to see games between vishy anand and judit. One plays admirably solid & other super aggressive

  • This is the first time that I've ever seen a game by Judith Polgar. Once she started to attack her opponent's exposed K, she didn't relent. Impressive. I'll have to watch more of her games. Thanks for posting it.

  • Great to see Judit's games. She is not only one of the best players, but also one of the most creative and entertaining. She recently played several outstanding attacking games in the Olympiad.

  • just show the game as played, and then analyze the rest...arrgh!!

  • Brutal stuff!

  • Thanks a bunch for making sense of this game.

  • What appears really strong play that even hackers like me can follow easily. Thanks for the upload

  • I'm super surprised that Ewan McGregor does these chess reenactments in his spare time! btw Ewan, you are definitely one of my top 5 favorite actors of all time :)

  • Fine exposition, thank you. What recent news of the Polgar dynasty?

  • I'm not sure that there is much news. Currently Susan is involved in some Mexican tournament. Judit remains (I think) in the top fifty of the world. And of course they are without doubt the strongest female players in history.

  • Everyone beats up on Vishy Anand with this line!

  • Thanks for sharing your videos =]

    The Polgar sisters are brilliant!

  • Also, how do you get video on your screen like that? Do you need a particular program?

  • Yes, the program is called Camtasia and you can get a thirty day free trial. If you search for it on google you should find it easily. =0)

  • Its interesting to watch the new development of opening lines. They are getting much sharper and tactical. It seems we are entering a "new era of chess". No longer "logical strategy" heading more towards strange imbalances and a lot of tactics. I am sure that it is in great part due to computers... and GM's using programs to help develop new moves in old openings to throw there opponents off.

  • that was one of the sharpest lines ive ever seen, do you know what the success rate of black is in this variation? doesnt seem like black has any attacking chances

  • Well, if he takes the knight with his queen in the opening stages after Ng5 and defends accurately he should be okay; one of the variations I went through there when he ends up sacrificing a knight to get connected passed pawns has been doing well at top level recently. But in all variations play has to be very precise and it could go either way. Sharp lines indeed!

  • wow.. that was pretty awesome

  • Great game!

  • THese videos are great. Thanks a lot. Would you consider anotating some of your own games? CHeers,

  • Thanks. I have considered doing some of my own games, but to be honest these Grandmaster games are much more interesting! I might do in the future ... it just seems a bit self-centered to be honest, people have subscribed to see top level games and that's what I intend to mostly show. Maybe if demand increases I'll show one. Thanks for your comment!

  • Yeah, top level games are good. But most of the viewer I am sure are not top level players. I don't know your rating, but I am sure there is instruction in your games as well. I would be interested in seeing some of your games.

  • Okay then ... I'll do a couple of my games at some point in the future =0) The site I play on is chesspark and my rating is usually somewhere between 2000 and 2100. I have some great club games I played in Prague, they were four hours long each, so I will prob talk about them when I do my own games. Thanks for your comment!

  • for us lower level players, couldn't you play the game in its entirety first and then return to it to explore the variations?

  • Hi Socrates. I have considered doing it that way, but it really is more interesting to go through the variations while going through the game. Usually I play the whole game out afterwards, but I didn't have time in this video. I'll try to do so more frequently in the future. Thanks for the feedback!

  • well done.

this is your most interesting game analysed and the best analysis so far.

    keep it up.

    5 stars

  • Thanks. =0)
