Just got back from seeing the movie and did not like it at all. I have read all the books and they got too many things wrong.

1. The books have a lot of humor, the movie has almost none.

2. Katherine Heigl is miscast as Stephanie,

3. Debbie Reynolds is totally miscast as Grandma.

4. Not enough Lulu or Ranger.

5. Strayed too far from the book therefore the story is disjointed which causes bad character development. See #'s 1 & 4.

I'm bitching about the cast, but I know I'll end up going anyway. Le Sigh. Agree with the general opinion, I like Heigl, not for this. I coulda seen Sandra, but Emma Stone is too young. I LOVE Betty White, but she's literally too pale for what I had in my head. But, boy, she coulda nailed the attitude. I don't find the Ranger guy attractive, and VERY disappointed about the pony tail. I find the Morelli guy hot, but as someone else. The guy that plays Alcide from True Blood coulda worked.

I agree with previous posts. I expected Morelli and Ranger to be really good looking and while Debbie Reynolds is a great actress she doesn't fit the bill AT ALL for Grandma Mazur. Heigl is pretty but what happened to the short unruly, out of control curls ? Hope thre is some great acting and laugh out loud dialogue to make up for the poor choice in casting.

I LOVE this series of books!! I REALLY REALLY hope that I am not disappointed with this movie! I am not too thrilled with the cast so far though. Morelli looks Irish here & he is supposed to be Italian with brown eyes not blue and WAY hotter. Ranger looks good though, but he needs his ponytail and I always pictured Dwayne Johnson as him. I ALWAYS pictured Sheri Shepard as Lula, I think she'll be GREAT. But I always pictured Sandra Bullock as Stephanie and Betty White as Grandma Mazar.
