  • I preform my hyungs the same way because our school used to be with master kim years ago b4 the split. I like the natural body motion rather than the sine wave. This was a good display of technique and I enjoyed it.

  • We have been taught to mask our breathing rather than having a loud expulsion of air at the end of the technique. The loud breathing lets your opponent know when you are most vulnerable. We were also taught that it is important to have a solid foundation (stance) before performing your technique so that you have a strong center of balance in order to perform the most powerful technique. I respect that different instructors have different opinions.

  • @NRGMommy i like the theory to the breath control, masking when you are for a period of time vulnerable.

the ITF has a different opinion on this but each to his own. the techniques look and sound powerful so clearly it works just i have never come across this type of defense/striking theory before!

    keep up the good work,

    Taekwon.

  • When I grow up, I want to be just like her.

  • not sure how to answer. 1 - 41 year old, mother of three doing Traditional Taekwon Do. 2 - a demonstration of Yong-Gae as taught by Ed Bailey, whose instructor was Hong Sik Kim. Hong Sik Kim learned from General Choi.

  • "Eyes, hands, feet, and breath should be in one coordinated action." This is theory of power 101.

4th dan? A disgrace to the old general.

  • @00mat88 not a disgrace to the General, looking at the teaching line; Ed Bailey < Hong Sik Kim < General Choi. i just wounder when the teaching linear broke down as this the old way of doing Tuls (even the term Hyung is old).

completely right though, Hands, Feet & Breath Control should end in one motion, that is nearly the Theory of Power, do not forget speed (acceleration), mass (force) and focus(/eyes) (target & striking tool) are all elements to the theory of power.

  • What is this??????
