  • legends, yeah i said it

  • the ramones sucked and everyone will always hate them.

  • Japanther has a lot from ramones:)

  • I looked everywhere and I still couldn't find Nico Bellic.

  • This is the only Japanther song I like really

  • Ramones are good. But they're not the only punk band ever. They're gone now. They were good for what they did. And everyone will always love them. But punk evolves into new things. It's not gonna sound like the same thing now as it did in the late 70's/early 80's. Good song. Japanther rules.

  • Punk is hardly "my thing" but I find it really hard not to enjoy this music and the lyrics (japanther as a whole are pretty good)

  • What is this? People turning over in their graves?

WHAT KIND OF SORCERY HAVE YOU BROUGHT UPON US

  • the classification or categorization of PUNK music loses all amount of credibility because PUNK is not classified into one thing or one band or one type of sound. PUNK is a thought. A feeling, that then translates into a sound or an image. The Ramones and The Clash sound nothing alike but they both are punk as fuck. It just IS.

  • @aaalaskaaa

Ramones? Punk as fuck? Being a Reaganite doesn't seem that punk to me.

  • The Ramones sound good!!

  • This song remids me of Matt and Kim

  • @az097668 Your sentence barely made sense. 'Judy is a Punk' wasn't about the label you know now as 'Punk' It was about two girls Jackie and Judy who joined a left wing organization to rob a bank. Nevermind I don't think you understood what i was trying to say initially months ago, and quite frankly I can't remember as it was so long ago.

  • @mynameismark25 that wasn't frank at all ha

  • @az097668 well its quite simple retard the ramones are overrated

  • i love this. it's not pretentious, or lame. which is a stretch nowadays...

  • Its simplicity, and people make it more complicated than it really is. If you are clearly listening to the lyrics, it is clearly stating about how they feel in a nutshell, which is really hard sometimes for these current "progressive" punk bands to do sometimes. Thats what were so great about the Ramones at the time, they defined making punk simple, so that the youth would understand it right away. That was when bands like the Dictators were considered rock.

  • these dudes kind of rule. telephones for mics..... genius

  • Punk doesn't begin and end with the Ramones. Stop putting shit in fucking boxes.

  • What record is this off of?

  • I just love that song ! arent they gonna be at the "set us on fire" festival this summer in berlin?

  • @SKONJIE lol, these guys are still great

  • I'll be seeing you guys on the 21st!

  • I'm inspired.

  • japanther? japandroids? aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah theyre so confusing

    this song is sweet btw

  • @shit311 Conveniently right next to each other on my iPod

  • so much love for the way this song makes me feel

  • this song is the cats pajamas

  • wich album?

  • this band fucking sucks balls, i can't believe i wasted ten seconds on watching this stupid band from shitty brooklin, what a abunch of ass holes

  • saw them last night at c squat they were great

  • is this supposed to be good? because if it is, i think i'm missing something.

  • @practicalshooter913 Your missing the skill to appreciate good music, go listen to what you think is good, and we'll listen to ours.

  • japanther brought back punk for the new era any who. 21st century tune.

  • I love how the Ramones are mentioned in punk but not Iggy Pop and the Stooges

  • @alexanderespinoza actually that shit sucks. i like iggy pop. i wish they were mentioned in punk rockness

  • @alexanderespinoza Iggy Pop is God, but The Ramones and Japanther have the bubble gum pop punk thing in common. Iggy is a serial killer. And I love all three...

  • i miss these guys!!! saw them in 2005 with "think about life" at sneaky dee's and it was one of the best shows ever!

  • Japoopy

  • this is indie

  • I have no fucking idea what music would be like without japanther!!!!!!!!!

  • Anyone with the last name Baxter always makes amazing shit.

  • have you seen that bicycle at 1:52?!

  • wow...great fucking song.

  • fuck the ramones ha

  • After 9 years in Brooklyn, I'll say this is a goddamn awesome encapsulation of the life and images here every day. GOD I LOVE BROOKLYN. Downtown, Sheepshead Bay, Fulton St, Williamsburg, Coney Island, Red Hook, Green Point, Prospect Park. GOD I FCKING LOVE BROOKLYN

  • new favorite band.

  • japanther kicks

  • I <3 the microPHONES(:

  • RA-MONES!

  • awesome :P

  • saw these guys last night in S.F., cool as shit!!!

  • I hate how they're throwing all that recyclable paper into the garbage :(

    I see that every day

  • "Rise above the muck and debris"

  • @DavidRayDog Rise above the smoke and debris!

  • @paranoidfrandroid Oooo thanks - I'm such a doof.

  • hey do u guys no the name of the song where it starts out "hes waiting for the evils...whos waiting? why satan of course. who puniches all ..." then this badass instrumentals come into play?

    get back at me ppl!

  • Living in big crowded cities must suck... Shitholes ftw!

  • Punk started and ended nowhere... Music is music... people trying to pigeon-hole sound into labels is narrow-minded and almost oppressive... stop arguing about flags & colors and just enjoy what you enjoy without stealing anybody else's...

  • @ podivan22

Read Lipstick Traces. Go check out the Situationist International movement. It's a hell of a fact that I stated.

  • THese guys are playing a bunch of shows here at SXSW. I saw them last year, and they were pretty rad. I will be seeing them for sure tomorrow.

  • Saw them at Harvest of Hope on friday. Became an instant fan.

  • saw japanther last night fucking SICK

  • I wonder how many people know they ripped the lyrics from the a grandmaster caz rap about the south bronx

  • @ollicup21 well now it doesnt suck

  • 0:20

  • love this song. but brooklyn's nice lmao

  • I'm sure all the bands out there now that label themselves "punk" make Joey and Johnny Ramone turn over in their graves. But it's bands like Japanther that make them turn back over thinking "at least some people get it".

  • Punk was coined by the Situationist International, and it began and ended with Sex Pistols, bro.

But still, this song is pretty kickin'.

  • Someone once told me a punk is a straight man who has sex with other men for money...I liked that :)

  • @genericwit

Saying Sex Pistols both started and ended punk is one hell of an assumption. Who started punk? well, that's a matter of opinion, Sex Pistols being one of many, but punk sure as hell did not end with the Pistols!

  • @DubyaDubyaE I totally agree. and is your screenname associated with WWE? because if you're intellectual punk with good taste and an interest in wrestling then you are automatically my brother from another mother.

  • @DubyaDubyaE Yeah, cause The Ramones were totally not mainstream and hungry for fame/money

  • fuck the ramones

  • @DubyaDubyaE well said

  • @DubyaDubyaE >implying they label themselves as punk

  • @DubyaDubyaE theyre be turning in their graves, trying to hide the massive boners they got from this song

  • @DubyaDubyaE The Ramones were never Punk. No one knew what to label them when they were around. It wasn't until after wave of punk bands that they were then referred to as Punk. So no.

  • @DubyaDubyaE fuck the ramones, that's pussy commercialized punk

  • @somuch4freedom Yeah you're kinda right.

  • fuck ninjasonik, they brought these guys down. japanther is shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

  • JAPANTHER "Rock 'N' Roll Ice Cream" March 2, 2010 Catalog # MPK 7055 We're all dying, aren't we? And we're not teaching each other what we really know it's so wrong and sad! Marilyn Monroe in The Misfits

  • no, its just what every cool girl in brooklyn looks like, ya know?

  • Probably. Japanther got Matt & Kim started.

  • it definitely is.

  • I never herd of this band and saw them last night with the Dopamines and D4. It was the most interesting and impressive performances ive seen. Ill never forget it.

  • Me too,in Denver last night....intense live for sure....but D4 were amazing.

  • Stay positive.

  • This song/band sounds so positive, haha I love this song

  • LEGEN.. wait for it... DARY

  • lol the one guy sweats so much live

  • This band is SO INTENSE live.

    Holy fuck. I love it.

  • great song :D love the phones as microphones its a great idea :D

  • omfg are they using phones as mices???

  • The singing guy looks like he has a clown nose.

  • with all the negativity concerning the state of the world today, this band, and in particular this song, is a breath of fresh air

  • I can't tell, in the graffiti is it a heterosexual male-female kiss, or the alternative?....

  • the alternative being a homosexual female-male kiss? wtf is wrong with you sicko

  • The only instance that the answer should matter to you is if you're homophobic, in which case, you really need to fuck off.

  • I knew I'd get something like this, Jesus Christ, get off your high-horses people. And I was aware that the words male and female could be reversed and still bare the same meaning. But for the sake of time, I left it ambiguous. The alternative is homosexual, and for Christ sake it was a simple question. Homophobia isn't a very accurate term to use, either, seeing how most people aren't *afraid* of them.

  • Lol. You're too stupid to understand that axelgrind was pointing out how you were being redundant. Anyway, why even pose the question if you're not homophobic? Why the fuck does it matter? Also don't argue about semantics please, you know damn well what I mean. No one means homophobes are "afraid" of gays, you fuckstick.

  • You dwell to highly on things you don't care about.

  • Of course I don't care about this, it's the internet. And I don't know how I'm "dwelling highly" by taking a minute or two to pound out a response to your asinine comments. I just hate people, such as yourself, who make excuses to rationalize their bigotry. Eh, that's just me I guess.

  • I'm a self-loathing white teenager with a deep respect for blacks, hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, etc. But I don't consider it bigotry for me to feel uncomfortable towards homosexual men. They're not a race, they are individuals with certain mindsets. I do not wish any kind of Third Reich-esque extermination of them, but I do feel uncormfortable about them. I am allowed to dislike someone based upon their ideas, bigotry is entirely the wrong word to use.

  • Homosexuality is not an idea any more than heterosexuality is an idea.

  • Forgot nature thrives on an "idea."

  • @timefornothing i may be drunk but heres a question.. do u believe in bisexuality? i mean.. i personally think that bisexuality is really just another word for confused, u kno? i feel like your either straight or gay. not both.. maybe that's just me? whts ur take

anywhoozles this band is amazing lmao

  • lmao... gotta love flame wars

  • i bet 9-11 was tuff. were you there?

  • haha fuck yeah they were amazing people started moshing for no reason

  • same thing happened in edmonton. :]

  • the ripped it up in Winnipeg, made a fan out of me very quickly

  • haha and you're probably the worst speller ive ever seen...big waste of my time showing you how to spell "probably" correctly and how to use an ellipsis right...(you used commas genius)

  • the one with against me ?

    it was entertaining
