  • the ottoman empire was more than 600 jears the most powerfull !

  • Chinas a superpower

  • @derwos

Like i care if he listen, most of the american people i have spoken to in my life do have the iknowbetterthanyou-attitude. You cannot learn them something and where they really good at is denying written facts and investigated numbers.

Why should i waste my time on such a dumb majority of people? With that thinking capability, you were doomed from the beginning anyway.

  • @pogobat On the subject of Imperialism, I suggest you read Empire, by Michael Hardt and Antonio Negri. It's all about the transformation of Imperialism to it's current, less recognizable state, and about how this modern form of Imperialism does impact society. If you don't mind dry reading, that is :P

  • JIZZ IN MY PANTS!!!!

  • President Obama is pretty much keeping President George W. Bush's foreign policy...

  • What is it about the foreign policy that should be different from how it is now?

  • Why hav'nt we thought about electing people like Dan as president?

  • The US is doomed as long as sociopaths run the show.

  • dan, i dont think you are right in any part of this video. as you see im not the only one who thinks like this... most of the commenters are saying the same thing. please research more, and be more objective. your ideas in this video were very narrow one directional... im sorry i am not able to elaborate more on this, but in this video you sound just like a zombie you dont want us to be.

  • @Mzgajaleti If you think someone's wrong, say why you think so, or else say nothing.

  • To the maker of this video: are you blind goof?

Don't you see the hunger, homeless, homicides, drug related problems and murders rising far more fast then they ever did! 1 out of 9 americans living on food stamps..

Youre government is bankrupt 10 times, the only reason you did not yet collapse is that china don't want to lose you as a market and keeps buying your worthless papers!

You are allready collapsing, the only thing that camouflage that is your millitary power.

  • @Flyingdutchmen0317 well said... I'm American and I hate this country more now... the very thing that's going to destroy this country is people like this they say a lot of good things but don't see the terrible storm to come... the freedoms of this country is the biggest weapon that's going to destroy it... Democracy.....

  • @ProminenceMotionNews That is not true. G.W. Bush got less votes than Al Gore, but he became President anyway due to a legal technicality. If the majority had had their way, in other words, if democracy worked in this country the way it should, then we would not have had four, and then another four years of idiocy preceding Obama.

Blame the system, blame the government, but don't blame the will of the majority, PLEASE.

  • @ProminenceMotionNews What the hell is the alternative to democracy? Fascism? What the hell is wrong with you? Make an argument and be specific about which minority group should have dictatorial control over the United States, and why.

  • Here's a tip - if you want to reason with someone in such a way so that they will actually listen to you, you must speak to them in a civil manner, instead of insulting them in your first paragraph. Grow up or shut up.

  • Man, I thourght any American could plainly see that America's doomed but you are obviously been living under a rock.

America thrives and depends on armed conflicts as income, I mean think about it, Americans are losing their home's and buissnesses and the only job left will be the army, family's arn't recovering, their losing and America might aswell be a communist country with the curruption and the crazed Christian agenda to dominate politics, just look at the people who runs for office.

  • @PurpleStorm8 Names, examples; be specific or say nothing.

  • The US is doomed, only to be replaced by China :/

  • Actually Dan, ask any expert historian (Particularly my history teacher) and you will find out that they did expect for the Soviet Union to fall within a time span of 70-100 years since it's creation.

  • Dan Brown for president

  • America is of course an empire, with a bunch of puppet states under its command, South Korea, Japan, various African and middle-eastern states.

  • america is doomed to be divided up by other nations at the highest bidder by the european union and asia the next two world superpowers becuase the american government and its finacial sector have sold out their country to the globalists and thats the truth.

  • Dan Brown For President!!

  • stupid world not trying to gain sustainability

  • The moment the USA falls. the worlds fall with it

  • @TheDubPiper not really the european union will take americas place as the next superpower.

  • @doctorw2 Not quite with the problems Europe has and they are not likely to do that and yes if the USA falls the world falls with it cause it finances more than 95% of countries in the world and helps them and their people to do what they think is right.

  • @Tarikace15 i tell you the truth europe will emerge out of the global economic crash (and that is coming nothing will be able to stop it) as the worldwide super power while america will be broken up into self governing states financed by the european union becuase america is an incompetent nation that really has no strong national roots or cultural base all americans care about is buying and selling with no regard for long term goals. europe will be succesful in overcoming all its problems.

  • @doctorw2 Ok I live in Europe and right now they have to find more than 440 billion € in order for Greece to stay intact same goes for Spain and Portugal, and further more America has ways to get out if any crisis and remain a Superpower till 22 century.

  • As long as the Republicans continue trying to change things with a mind of keeping their/getting more money, and as long as Democrats(like myself) continue to be carpets, the USA will end. And I don't know about you all, but I am very much a carpet.

  • Comment removed

  • Collapse of Soviet union was very much expected espically by the leaders in charge. Thats why the liberlization was implemetedin the first place. They knew that commuism was not working. And a lot more than 1 % of americans dont belive in american ideas.

  • Oh I'm sorry, but I guess USA is falling

  • I zoned out thinking about stem cell research.

  • globalization...BRIC countires emerging as tiger economies

  • We are living in a one party system. It just doesn't seem that way.

  • Also, your definition of superpower sounds exactly like an empire. Just because they changed the word doesn't mean it's actually any different (George Carlin taught me that). About the pent up agression. To your credit, you do say 'to that extent', but I still think you take for granted just how much pent up aggression America has. Democracy is dead, dude. The people aren't in control at all. This wasn't about arguing with you, I just wanted to open your eyes.

  • Dan, I think you need to rethink things. I'm not sure you're seeing the world very clearly. I think you have a blind spot for Barack Obama. You act as if he has stopped the nation building, but really he has continued the practice and expanded it to other countries. You want to hang on to that feeling he gave you, that 'change' thing, but I think it's time you realize (as I had to) that nothing has changed. I just want you to look at him critically for a minute. I suggest you watch 'Inside Job'.

  • andorra got superpower lol

  • You forgot the yellow horde. China. They work like ants and fuck like jackrabbits. They will own and populate America and Canada within the next 50 years. China itself is a dichotomy....a superpower and a third world country all in one. Depends whether you live in a big city or out in the sticks. America got too greedy. 5 people have all the money and everyone else is outta luck. Thank Raygun for that.

  • The U.S. is NOT a super power. 85% of the population of America are obese and 70% of them are somehow employed by their military! Now that they are out of war, their economy will slowly crash and they will have to get loans from the World Bank which will also crash due to the U.S controlling most of it. The U.S is going to collapse and when that happens most poor countries will collapse too. PS, I am Canadian.

  • I am CANADIAN. ohh ya :D

  • @jacacheminpurple Aye thats not good, well it is , but soon as we go "poor" well just immigrate to canada . U Feeling Mad :(

  • in that case you would need a few dosin of nuclear missels to be a superpower and then every one with nuclear weapons which are most of the countrys are superpowers......

  • To quote Johnny Cash (on America represented by the american flag) "She's getting threadbare and she's getting thin, but she's in good shape for the shape she's in, Because she's been through the fire before, and I believe she can take a whole lot more." I think you are absolutely right dan. It is extremely unlikely that the U.S. will completely colapse within the foreseeable future. However, and you missed this, the US today is frighteningly similar to Rome during its decline

  • i love america but american governments are greedy asshole zionists .. murdering thousands of there own people for weapons, war ,and oil time after time.... killing millions of arabs . 15 trillion in dept.. .might as well replace the admins with crack heads..

  • I think this is my favorite episode made by Dan Brown since the 2.0 days.

  • .... America a superpower? It can not even take care of it's own people...

  • @nijntje666 are you kidding?

  • @kiddooo10 no... I just have to say two words.

    New Orleans

  • @nijntje666 how can't it?

  • @nijntje666 the spirit of america is more towards taking care of yourself, not looking to the government for help

  • I think if we look at the coming generation we'll see exactly what you're talking about. The way our generation relates to the world is not through conquering, but helping and cooperating. What I mean is, I see more people our age in America concerned with and taking action against global problems. YouTube attests to that.

I mean, even look at American military. There is a lot of rebuilding of communities and countries that never even hits the news.

I think that's good news for our future.

  • you're assuming 99.9% of americans are not blockheads. yeah, i would say you're blindly optimistic. true.

  • 16,666th viewer! >:)

  • We are a nontraditional empire but an empire is. We took Puerto Rico from Spain in 1898 as part of America's Imperial Destiny in the 19th century we took and conquered the whole of the central part of the North American continent from the indigenous nations and empires. By taking and conquering other nations from Mexico, Spain, conquest of the Indians etc we became an empire. Since Manifest Destiny was our reason to becoming an empire.

  • pdbaz

  • *decides not to be a Zombie*

  • holy shit he looks like dane cook with that haircut!!!

  • I generally disagree with you but i like that there is someone that will challenge my beliefs. :)

  • It's funny to watch the clock change.

  • America will make other empires fall, not the other way around.

  • @CanadaMan120 Libya

  • What's up with you and Revision3?

  • i believe what you say WAS true, bipolarism after WW2 left SU en US at power, and then the US kinda pulled the rope for the rest of the world. But know, era last 2 decades, Europe has almost the same 'power' as US do. The only thing is, americans don't want to admit/see that. Also japan, china and korea (a lot of countries in asia) mean a lot in the economy and globalisation. What the western countries started, know basically proceeds in Asia,

no, america isn't the only super power, anymore.

  • New Zealand is the snotty nosed kid in kindergarten playing with blocks. Oblivious to everything going on around him. Just enjoying the simplest entertainments in life. You could steal New Zealands lunch money, if we had any. rofl

  • China has the worlds largest reserve... They are prepared for anything due to the amount of cash is flowing to it.

  • Honestly, I don't think we will approach sustainability correctly. Humans are very selfish creatures. That's why we haven't reduced the use of oil. In fact, we are paying the oil companies tons of money each year to continue doing what they do. I think that once we (meaning the people who can actually change things like president, congress, etc) actually decide to do something about oil consumption (and the using of other limited resources), it will be too late.

  • American's rejected imperialism by electing Obama? Tell that to the Libyans.

  • he said Hubris. thats like my favroite word. he knows whats going on

  • i hope it is i hope all kinds of bad things start to happen i hope the world gets all fucked up

  • Dan, Y U NO LET ME BE A ZOMBIE!

  • A foreign policy we rejected by voting for Obama... and a foreign policy we got more of.

  • There are people on this earth who don't WANT to cooperate. And the biggest problem with that is the % of people they make up in the world and how spread out they are.

I've spoken with friends in Amsterdam, England, and France who say that they don't feel safe anymore in their countries due to militant Islamic people who have moved in and pretty much taken over their cities. The hatred for "nonbelievers" is rampant and I don't think it's going away any time soon. I think it'll just get worse.

  • I think you make a lot of really good points. Life in the modern world is definitely more about sustainability and how well we can get along as Earth "brothers and sisters".

But that seems almost Utopian. I think we're all in for a rude awakening. I have a feeling that America will fall just like previous "superpowers" and become a faint relic in future text books.

I think the place where that comes into play is connected with what happened on Sept 11th.

  • OH. MY. GOSH. Did anyone else have the "Mariobama" ad before this video?

    What. The. Heck.

  • Stop saying all the bullcrap about China owning the United States of America. Of course they could mess with our economy if they wanted to, but that's like trying to kill everyone that buys something from your supermarket. They wouldn't think about destroying us, because screwing us once, double-screws them over. Infact, it's not America's fault we have a bad economy. True, we have done some stupid things, but the reason China bought us out, is because they don't have labor unions.

  • We've got Bush3.0bama (the warmonger this waterboy doesn't call out) killing us while people are booing Dr. Paul, the only hope America has. People listen to this guy on YT and might be able to vote, so it sure sounds like we're on a bad course.

If China doesn't spread itself out more it will fall with America. Singular major buyer-seller relationships are mutual in benefit.

  • I thought China was a super power

  • I like watching the clock behind you change.

  • @steponabananaskin First of all i am not 12, second, its not ignorant its fact.

  • Woah. Dude, you remind me of my History teacher so much. It's crazy. You look just like him. His name is Mr. Pohorilak (but we call him Poho, which sounds like Pogo). And he was just talking to us about America possibly falling. For a second I seriously thought you were him. But he's like five years older lol. Just a strange coincidence..... maybe you could do a video about some weird coincidences in your life??

  • After living in America for all of the 18 years of my life, I'm getting pretty tired of all its bullshit. Join me in Canada within the next 10 years, anyone?

  • @Throrindor How about Iceland?

  • @Tinkerbird That is a viable option as well. Besides, Icelandic is closer to Old Norse than any other modern language, making it officially as badass as it gets.

  • @Throrindor hehe...=D

  • @alwaysliam Sure, it would be easier but how often is the easiest solution the best solution? You cannot simply cram all of the poor people in a neighborhood into an appartment complex. Even if you had several appartments, people would simply not want to move. We cannot force them to move either. What are we going to do if they don't move? Throw them into our already over-populated prisons? No.

  • I had to answer this question on my history class in college, haha

  • Global climate change was disproved by NASA

    curezone [dot] com /forums /fm [dot] asp?i=1839949

But we should still be responsible with our environment for the health of the future generation.

  • @steponabananaskin For every 1 american, there is about 17 of them (Chinese), It doesn't matter how much we put in spending. It would drive us more into debt, and if we were at war with china, we would simply be outnumbered the only way to beat them in a war is to nuke them.

  • LoL the soviet union didn't really collapse, yes east germany and a few insignificant countries escaped from the soviets and the system (supposedly) changed in russia, but only very few people in power during the soviet union have lost power, the majority of people at the helm of russia, are the same people. Russia is still big and most of europe obeys it for petrol and gas. Most KGB agents are now FSB agents... only the names have changed. And Russia still goes to space, just saying.

  • Europe owns all! Peace. :)

  • @MoustacheMyMoustache

Thats a good one. I laughed so hard when i read this.

  • When I see America's current political state I think of Rome just before its fall. Rome didn't fall from disease it fell from civil war.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes.

  • i think we were a more connected world as Pangaea ;)

  • Iran is expecting to be attacked by the U.S. and Israel. In fact, they want it to happen for their insane Islamic religion. China and Russia are gearing up for it as well. Turkey is going totally Islamic as is Egypt. Things are not looking good for the near future.

  • you make me smart

  • The dollar may be safe from the euro taking its international-trade-currency-monopoly, since the euro isnt looking to good atm. But there are other unbullyable nuclear powers that have started trading oil in different currencies, Russia and Iran for example, i think. If the dollar is no longer propped up by its global demand then it would cripple on account of, what $15 trillllllllion debt?!

  • @alwaysliam Adjusted for Inequality, the US is 12th. Still pretty darn good. It will be interesting to check those rankings again in a couple of years, when the printing presses at the Treasury finally break from overheating.

  • Said 'climate change'

Was gonna stop watching, then realized that the video was almost over, so I just kept watching.

  • Britain was a superpower until before WWII, they are still a strong country, and if the US fell from our superpower status. We we just become the less powerful, but we would still be a stable country.

  • I'MMA A ZOMBIE

  • @nihilistsneedhugstoo While when you say US is the largest debtor nation, you neglect to mention that america is also the largest exporting nation. We are not in as big of a shit hole as some of you might think. We just happen to take in more than we put out. The economy of the rest of the world simply could not function without america. That is exactly why other nations, like for example, china, could not attack america. They rely on use almost as much as we rely on them.

  • @superchris247 America is 3rd, behind China and Germany. 4th if you count the European Union as a whole. But you are correct, the economy of the rest of the world did come to rely too much on the US, still the largest consumer nation... until 2005, when they were surpassed by China. That name keeps popping up, huh.

  • collapse (post amerika)

  • industrial hemp will help heal the economy and the world

  • We have a lot of fucking patriotism in a America. If the government said "Let's go to war with (Etc.)" I would probably be like FUCK YEAH!!1!

  • America will collapse if President Barack Obama is re-elected, that is about %80 true based off of his horrible decision making in the past four years.

  • @tytig94 Obama can only do so much as a president. He can't control the fucking country called America in one fell swoop. He has to do things with many considerations in mind. Also, Obama has to deal with the shit that Bush made during his last 4 years of presidency. Being president does not mean having total power.

    I'm Canadian.

  • @tytig94 Not his fault bush put a bunch of weight on his shoulders he tried to fix what Bush caused, it was good ideas but it didn't work. Obama made it easier for the next president to fix what Bush caused.

  • @mech1478965423 Two questions. One, what did Bush do to put weight on Obama's shoulder? Two, what did Obama do to make the next President's job easier?

  • @pokemon4049 not yet, but they are getting there.

  • Dan, have you shaved your left eyebrow?

  • yes. it's doomed.

  • We really need a damn good president for the future

  • The United States as in the land, states, and people isn't exaclty the Empire or Super Power. Washingtom DC, the international comminuty crap, UN, World Org crap, international banks, international corporations, international law, the new media.... that is the Empire. The real stateless terrorists.

  • 0:01

  • this is the dan brown videos i remember!!

  • The USA has definitely had its best days. Liberalism with its lasser-faire way of economy and market has great advantages. Democracy, ppl able to make their own idea into a super company is a great thing.

But with great abilities and freedom, this whole thing grows and turns more and more fragile. Without proper regulation, everything gets linked and dependent on each other.

We see nowadays that the Way of the West is failing. We should become more responsible, rather than greedy.

  • I really do think that we're not gonna be the sole hegemon within the next 10 years.

And umm I do think you're a little too optimistic.

  • i bet you were the captain of the debate team

  • Comment removed

  • Isn't China also a super power nation currently?

  • I honestly dont believe that we are headed in that direction at all. The ancient civilizations were conquered by more powerful areas, such as Spain. America, i believe, is stronger than any other place on the globe. We have so much more technology as well to defend ourselves from other places. We wouldn't just magically disappear because we have more than about 3 times the amount of population than the ancient civilizations did. I believe we are in a strong founded place.

  • So yeah, is it's already been stated: China is more powerful than USA, americans just don't want to acknowledge it, which I guess is kind of the hubris Dan is talking about here.

  • I just disagree with your idea, but you arguments are awesome! It's nice to see other's opinion...

  • Didn't NASA disprove a large portion of the science behind climate change?

  • PDBAZ is back woo :)

  • All empires fall because they degenerate. Soon as they have a big lie, big crime, big corruption that is beyond repair, they degenerate. They have to keep people stupid in order to protect the bad crap. They become more social and cull out the smart who would speak out. They wind up with a majority of idiots to delusional and not able to deal with a future catastrophy. Whether internal, natural disaster, or invasion.

  • China owns America...

  • @Mardurenn So true. They could take down USA any day, only that wouldn't be too smart since they're the biggest buyer of their stuff.

  • @Mardurenn maybe,but China baned time travel

  • Like if your thinking of Hetalia

  • we're all doomed.

  • American's are under the false impression that they are the centre of the world and remain the only super power present today. However their ignorance is being tested with war and terror threats in the Middle East. China is by far the greatest super power today. With the worlds fasted growing economy, the most widely spread language and they're not a very democratic nation.

My opinion is that the United States won't last for that much longer.

  • What a topic to discuss the day after 9/11.

  • America will fall, but not during our life times. We will slowly decline, fall out of being a super power, then we will come back up and assume power again, then suddenly drop and not be able to recover.

  • Star Trek is coming

  • America is that one touch guy in class, always showing off. When in reality, hes got a shitload of problems at home. Now, this guys got a lot of friends ofcourse, who try hard to be just as cool. The UK seems to be his best buddy. The dutch and a few others follow his lead as well. The rest of the class, let's say "the media" follows them every move. Overwhelmed by popularity, they forget about the quiet giant on the other side of class, who could fuck their shit up any time of the week. China.

  • @ResoIve I WANT YOUR NAME ITS EPIC!

  • @kambo57 I'll let you in on a little secret. The L in Resolve, is actually a capital i.

NOT SO EPIC NOW IS IT?! Muahaha xD

Thnx anyway I guess xD I hate the fact that someone took my name before I could D:

  • @ResoIve LOL! That makes it even more epic! IlIlIlIIIIllllIll now you don't know which one is which!

    MIUAUHAUHAUHAUHAUAHUAH! :D

  • @ResoIve British is the home of the best rock music in the world which makes it instantly more cool than America

  • @JHOOM5447 Absolutely bro! :D

But I guess my story is the way the media sees it.

Most people dont realise that actually UK > US. :]

  • china cant fuck up america we spend way more money on our military America could fuck chinas shit up!! fuck those zipper heads!

  • @SuperDirtyRandy they got more people than we got bullets XD

  • @Stranger3310 Exactly xD

  • @ResoIve We are just Norway. The average student sitting next to Sweden and Denmark.

Often forgotten due to the more pertrudent countries sitting next to them.

Little does the rest of the class know that Norway contains lots of money from oil and was announced by EU as the best country to live in, since we tend not to brag and flaunter with our money like some other countries. :D

  • @KabutoOfTheSound6 Scandinavia, the actual Utopia of ze wurld. :3

I love you guys up there. If the dutch government ever decides fucks up our cool law system, I will definitely come chill with you guys. =]

  • @ResoIve thank you, love the government and how the country is ruled....

But then again stuff is expensive, so save up, and we may hang out some day :D

  • Dan, can you go an entire video without mentioning global warming?

  • america will fall, the world economy will fail, we are in for a massive worldwide change. human beings will never again be the same. just sit back, and watch.

  • dan brown... the only place where atleast 4/5ths of all comments are more than 3 lines

  • Actually dan, were broke and have 700 bases in 300 countries, and that Change was bull shit!

  • If you look at the clock, he spent like 2 hours on this 6 minute video. epic

  • I think any country with nukes count as a superpower. So no not just America. I also think we are past breaking point, to many cars, to many idiots.

  • wish us english still had our empire... we were unstoppable

  • @nathanboothroyd really?the english were UNSTOPPABLE?well then, tell me of a war in the past 200 years where england won land over a european nation.

  • @fcpolitimisoara the sun never set of our empire.. we had most of Asia

  • @nathanboothroyd so what?you just placed colonies on places no one else has gotten(the spanish has become the main power in the americas, while one of your only 2 big colonies, the USA,became independent.Plus, the so called 'asians' were half a millenium behind Europe,so they just gave up to you.big deal.and i assure you, what you had was no where near 'most of asia', perhaps the size of china, considering india is that big

  • @fcpolitimisoara omfg are you serious??? the english empire was the largest empire in history! we owned like a 1/4 of the worlds population! America needs to teach some history to their kids

  • @nathanboothroyd so you call me american lol

your greatest 'power' was in the interbellic
